@Sidestepadventures Hello Robert. How can I contact you personally? Messenger? Email? I would appreciate you helping me find out if these are my ancestors? 3 members of my family live near there and my uncle is in charge of our family tree.He is 93 now. We know that our family settled in Georgia and that my great-grandfather became a 'Sooner' when he moved to Oklahoma.I would also like to see to the restoration of the place please. Thank you and hope to hear from you.
I can tell how displeased older Robert is with modern technology, when it comes to building material. He definitely let it be known when things are solid, and built to last. I love it.
Emma Mullins Davis and family are recorded in Ancestry and Find a Grave. there is no photo of the headstone. Would be great if you could add the family headstone pictures. this is listed as the Williams Cemetery. Find a Grave has 20 records but no photos.
God bless you guys for taking the time to respectfully explore and attempt cleaning up the cemetery even if you don't know any of the deceased! It takes a special type of person to be that caring! The world needs more people like you!
Robert(s), you guys have motivated me to visit my local cemetery and visit the graves of old Friends and Family. I have a ghost story channel where I talk about my experiences and submitted stories of visits from those who have passed, so I have been thinking about how I would integrate a visit from cemeteries into my usual vibe and I think I've got it. I'm going to introduce the people I know and tell a little story about how I know them, etc. You guys have really inspired me, and hopefully I will be able to inspire others to do the same and to visit their local cemeteries and not forget those who have passed. I'll also dedicate that video to you Robert(s), Cody (and Grandpa). Stay safe and keep up the great work!
Amazing! I do love old cemeteries. I can't get over how much history is in the other Robert's head. Too bad you can't plug a flash drive into him. Thanks for sharing. God bless.
At Josephine Davis's grave at the flower piece there was that plant that eats bugs, or maybe it was just that the leaves were starting to rot at the edges. I like the way Mustache Robert pulls Cody to talk a bit.
Such beautiful iron work, No such thing nowadays or be terribly expensive. That other Robert good man you got there, he is on his hands and knees working hard. Thanks for video.
I am reading a book about burial customs in Arkansas, which is where I live, and there are some very interesting articles in this book. It goes back to before the Civil War and concludes in modern day burials. Th The false crypts were to protect the grave from animals and grave robbery. Many, many more interesting facts are found in the book. "Gone to the Grave" by Abby Burnett.
Part 2 video was "just great " , it is amazing all the old graves and headstones you find. Sad that family don't take care of the graves. Thank you God for the work you ,the Robert and Cody do!! Love the video !!!
I appreciate what you two Ga. fellows do, as a avid relic hunter I used to stumble onto 'homesteader's" family and old church cemeteries in the back woods of N. Carolina, and around old plantation homes in Louisiana. It always made me wonder about the lives they lived and how different things were in early America hundreds of years ago.......JM
Cedar trees were often planted around old cemeteries. There is an old family cemetery were my great grandfather's parents and grandparents are buried. Buriels are dated from 1840s to about 1900. Several Civil War vets buried there. Its in a field surrounded by cedar trees. A newspaper account of this old cemetery written about 1920 describes it as being surrounded by old cedars. They are still there to this day. It's located in Alabama. Enjoyed your visit to this old family cemetery.
I am a Davis descendant and already knew that some of the Davises migrated to Georgia. I posted a note about your video (and channel) on one of my Davis family discussion threads (Ancestry.com). Every little bit of information helps. Thanks so much for posting this informative video pertaining to the Davises.
Great Job on the history of the cemetery and Williams Family Robert Sr. Really got my attention ...keep up the with your documentation of these old cemetery ..
Is it possible that Capt. Ben Williams was related to Pvt Benjamin F Williams, the youngest Civil War soldier you found in Stewart County and his father Capt. Nathaniel J Williams? They were buried in family cemeteries, Williams cemetery in Stewart Co. and Williams cemetery in Harris Co. Might be something to research if these 2 families were related. Another awesome thought provoking video Robert.
There is a cemetery in Concord, MA (St. Bernard's) where there are a lot of portraits on the grave stones. I always found that to be fascinating. And just about 3 miles before St. Bernard's Cemetery is Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. A lot of really famous people are buried there.
Another great video!! If I could drive, this is what I'd do.. visit old cemeteries.. very interesting!! Love also hearing the stories behind some of the resting places that you find. Maybe Robert should stop bending on his knees - can be tough getting back up etc, Cody can take over the sweeping and glove work?? Just a suggestion ☺️ best wishes and a happy new year to you and your families.. from me in Co Dublin Ireland 🤗☘️💖🇮🇪
Robert , Cody and of course the other Robert with his only one yellow shirt😂 🤣thank you for all the interresting daily video’s . Greetings from the netherlands and a big 👍
Fine work as always. Thank you Robert II for the Williams family story. Buy that man a steak sandwich. Oh and Robert I am really enjoying the depth and detail from your new camera on these vlogs👍🏻.
That is an amazing find . So happy you are bringing the memories back to life . Hopefully if there is family left they will take it upon themselves to fix up the section that belongs to them. Hopefully these people will find their place in the local history. Keep Safe ❤ Keep Well ❤
Waiting for the day yall will come to bulloch county and show my 3x great grandaddy and grandmas grave..theyre beautiful💚 wanna meet the Roberts so bad lol
Are you guys ever able to get permissions to repair stones to clean and restore them. And to maybe find a way to clean and remove the over growth and do landscaping
I love photographing cemeteries, this would be a dream to stumble on. Its a shame it was left behind but surprisingly the headstones are well preserved
It just seems no one cares for dead past a certain time, my mom taught me to visit our love one at least 2 times a year and care for the graves it is such a shame the graves you find are let go
I just love watching all of you guys when you find old cemeteries. I’m so proud of Robert (Rooster) when he takes so much pride in brushing off all the head stones n when he brings his big clippers. Thank you Rooster. I know many distant relatives appreciate what you do. Your both are good men. By the way, Cody doesn’t say much does he LOL. Until the next one... stay well n keep those clippings sharp. ♥️♥️😊👍👍👍
I have a question, my family originally came from North Carolina and I know where the cemetery is supposable at but when I look on Google earth I really don't see anything. I'm not sure how to track information down. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Try find a grave.com. You can enter all of their info, or look by just last name. You can try No Carolina. Then try all of US. You can try just looking at all the graveyards in their area, too. If you find one, there will be a number with it. Find a grave starts linking family members together by these numbers. Holler if you need help!
I remember my grandmother taking down the fencing around our family plot in Jonesboro Georgia because people were stealing them. They got our gate though.

I love how gentle and reverent you 3 are with those old graves. That kind of character is not so prevalent these days. Thank you.❤
I can tell how displeased older Robert is with modern technology, when it comes to building material. He definitely let it be known when things are solid, and built to last. I love it.
The fence was beautiful and must had cost a lot of money. There maybe no one left in the blood line, sad. Thank you guys for sharing and caring.
If there are, shame on you, Davis family.
I'm impressed by the number of abandoned cemeteries in Georgia.
There’s many abandoned cemeteries in each state. Other states document abandoned cemeteries and that’s about it.
All those city folk had to come from somewhere. Lots of old towns drying up and disappearing. 🙂.
they aren't abandoned.. you sure dont know history
@@andystuckey2561 Shoot, the USA itself is drying up and disappearing. Hardly recognize this place anymore.
Lots of them in Arkansas also
The other Robert is so on the ball with what when and where 👍
The other Robert definitely deserves his streak sandwich. You're doing grandpa proud
That baby headstone broke my heart, so sad. I hate seeing graves of children.
Glad to see part 2 of this cemetery!
I love it when you have Robert with you and the stories he can tell and remembers about the people buried there

It takes a special kinda person to steal a cemetery gate .
Don't you know they'll hear that gate slamming closed once they enter hell.
And I bet the thief would call himself a patriot and a true southerner!!
if i had money to bet someone took it and some other metal and went to the scrap yard to get some dope. common here in ga. my brother is like that
How do you know it was stolen?

Have you, would you, return to any of your previous finds, to see if anyone has taken an interest in clearing the cemeteries a bit?
