❤ always enjoyed y'all videos of those old grave yards and churches what I like the most the craftsmanship of old houses and churches that are still standing today it just proves that people took pride in all of their work and back then the cause of building anything was a lot cheaper to do by today's standards and as I watch this video I can't help but to think that I wish that I could donate 100 gallons for you all's good work but I can't but I'm thanking God late if they was clean out they would absolutely be beautiful and must easier to read❤ watching you y'all from, cornbread Morristown east Tennessee 😊

I researched Pvt Joseph Chambers. According to his military records via fold 2 he was killed in action Oct 19, 1864 at Greeneville, Greene County, Tennessee, USA (per findagrave). Findagrave has a drawing of him. His military records showed he died June 1, 1864. (Part of Capt. B J Kendrick Company F , Terrell Infantry, 51 regiment). His military records were 15 pages long. I had ancestors in the Civil War (mainly from Georgia) and I love doing research. His widow is Lucinda Chambers.

Mr. Webster, like many musicians, was of an exceedingly nervous and sensitive nature, and subject to periods of depression, in which he looked upon the dark side of all things in life. I had learned his peculiarities so well that on meeting him I could tell at a glance if he was melancholy, and had found that I could rouse him up by giving him a new song to work on. He came into my place of business [in Elkhorn, Wisconsin], walked down to the stove, and turned his back on me without speaking. I was at my desk. Turning to him, I said, "Webster, what is the matter now?" "It's no matter," he replied, "it will be all right by and by." The idea of the hymn came me like a flash of sunlight, and I replied, "The Sweet By and By! Why would not that make a good hymn?" "Maybe it would," he said indifferently. Turning to my desk I penned the words of the hymn as fast as I could write. I handed the words to Webster. As he read his eyes kindled, and stepping to the desk he began writing the notes. Taking his violin, he played the melody and then jotted down the notes of the chorus. It was not over thirty minutes from the time I took my pen to write the words before two friends with Webster and myself were singing the hymn.-Sanford Fillmore Bennett (1836-1898)[2]

flowers/ plants on markers/graves are there because they have a symbolic meaning. For example : red & white rose : united, pink:grace, pansy:remembrance , arum: faith, purity , lily-of-the-valley: sweetness, trust , oak: strength, etc.

Bobwhites! That's so cool. I haven't heard any of them since I was a kid, visiting my grandparents' farm. They went extinct up here, since then. Though they are being reintroduced. Anyway... That's interesting to see that name Senn. We have Senns around here, in Egg Harbor City and surrounding area. The Senns have a plumbing supply store and another branch of the family has an oil company. I know that name, Jolly. There was a woman named Nicole Jolly who had or has some interesting videos on RUclips. I knjow that name Chambliss/Chambless from Salem County, NJ, where there is a Chambliss house that was built in 1730. I also know that name Paul, because the Revolutionary War hero, Benjamin Paul is my ancestor, and my grandmother was able to join the DAR because of him. Anyway, I love these cemetery explores. I love seeing the various kinds of stones.

You guys should think of a free standing scaffolding to go sound these tall headstones so they can be worked on safely. And a big tank of water on wheels to wash these off while your working. You’ll need a pressure to pump from the tank and into your pitcher to pour water onto the stones. Using a four wheeler to haul huge tanks on wheels into the grave sites. No trucks. And attach these big brushes to strong poles to reach the taller areas if needed. Hope all of you get a team in this cemetery and cleanse these stones before the moss destroys the markers forever.and the water tank needs to be put under the eve of the house so it will fill up full of natural rain water

I know this is am old video, I'm enjoying going back and watching, but I wanted to comment on the beautiful marker with the hand pointing down. Generally the finger pointing down like that symbolizes an unexpected or sudden death. The downward finger is calling those on Earth to witness this and reflect that life is fleeting. It's the gothic one around 24 minutes, Mary V Jolly. She must have died from something sudden.
