I think you guys should revisit in the winter when everything dies down some and see how much more you find! It’s a shame to see it so over grown in the middle of town! I understand the other Robert wearing the long sleeves gloves ect now! That poison would be jumping on me without even being touched! 🤦🏻♀️
In western KY there is a historic black cemetery in a city park. It is rough terrain and the city hires a man with his herd of goats . He’s a retired teacher and brings his camper and stays close to the area for a few days while the goats eat it clean. KET did a story on them.
We have people with a crew of goats here in Northwest Arkansas too. They do parks, yards, whatever they're hired for. They're especially good at clearing poison ivy.
This cemetery needs a GoFundMe to hire a landscaping crew for a couple of days. After that, keeping it up won't be such a chore. Now that I've watched further, I amend my statement to an 8 person crew for a few days and add an arborist.
The two Roberts, I have done genealogy since the 1990's. I just recently located and visited the old overgrown cemeteries where my 2nd and 3rd great grandparents are layed and many families. We cleaned as much as possible and cleaned the markers. They had a sign where it had dates of clean_up...but assume the one's that did it died off 🥺 I finally got cousins to help me get markers for our grandparents as I know after we are gone the younger one's probably won't do it.
You are possibly right. I have family that I am not able to visit. My heart crying more for not being able to visit than the hole in my heart that they are gone. Glad you and yours family were able to place markers in their memory. It hurts me too see the ones without markers. Robert #1 and Robert#2 are viewing and recording these persons from the past. I cheer them on with my hold heart. 👍👍👍🥰
I've driven by that cemetery probably 10,000 times and I never would have guessed it was that big. I'll bring some equipment over there this fall and we can clean it up.
We’re you able to get that cemetery cleaned? Just wondering … if so, I thank you, I am trying to clean some up in Texas but don’t have much equipment and volunteer’s are hard to come by.
Cody, Get off your tail and help out more. You grandpa gets it done. Without both Roberts, this channel will not last. Both Roberts are saving and recording every Grave they find. Totally appreciate the good that you all do to save history.
Yours, Cody's and the other Roberts dedication is amazing. Thank you for doing this. p.s. I love other Roberts dry sense of humor! You both play well off of each other.
I know a man who works to preserve Georgia's cemeteries - reach out if you would like his contact info :) makes my heart so sad to see people's final resting places left to disappear :'( thank y'all for doing what you do and keep it up!
God bless you sweet gentlemen! You are excellent role models to the young man with you. He is learning respect for the dead and love of country. Thank you for your efforts!
It is so sad when children grow up and move away and the ones left behind are forsaken. Grant it we know they are gone and cemetery keepers are no longer there. But you think out of respect the city or county could maybe even have county inmates clean these homes of the forgot. They at one time served us and a lot of them paid the price. It's just sad to see. Thank you Robert and Robert and Cody good job boys
I sincerely hope that someone in that town gets a group together and cleans up that cemetery, quickly! Where is the respect. Thank you for taking the time to document the graves. Take good care...
Hey Robert ,the Other Robert and Cody. My name is also Robert. I appreciate the fact that y’all are able to locate these forgotten and neglected cemeteries. I’m also following your work on the old Byrd house. I’m sure it’s gonna look great and most likely reveal more surprises for you. Is there the possibility of an unmarked grave(s) on the property? That would surely be interesting.
An amazing cemetery, and right in the middle of town, too. I am in awe of the wonderful history represented in that "unassuming" overgrown plot of land. Thanks for braving the vines, poison ivy, possible snake sightings, and tripping hazards to give us yet another historically educational tour of an old, forgotten cemetery. You 3 are a great team! I enjoy your banter, how y'all pick on each other, and the knowledge you have and share. Welcome Back to Cody...😊
You two are a fantastic team. When he is with you (other Robt) it just gets so entertaining. I hope he is ok and not ill. Hope to see you explore with him again. The 2 of you play off of each other and it's never a dull moment! Thank you for all you do to preserve people's memories via the last place they lay resting.
If this city or town has a mayor and town council, they should be made aware of this disgrace, if they already know, then shame on them for not enforcing the maintenance of this cemetery. Just sad, very sad. Thank you Roberts, and Cody for showing us this one. Take care stay safe
Around here, they will sometimes get the scouts to go in and do clean ups to help with badges. Will the scouts down there do something like that? Thanks for recording these places.
Yes, a group with rakes and weed eaters. Also get someone to direct them in how to clean the stones. Also some hand saw and other tools.so sad it has been left like that
Hi ☺️ y'all! Thanks again for taking me along. So sorry about the condition this one is in.😟 Time and it's forgetfulness🤷I have no words. You do good to visit though and speak their names. Be safe...Love from KY 💞😊!
Thanks for drudging through the tons of brush, thorny stuff and poison oak and other poisonous things to bring us this video. Really cool. So many old graves and forgotten people. I guess it’s true, by the 3rd generation you are forgotten. Thanks again.
It's just so saddening to see the graves of so many just forgotten and no longer tended to. It would be really nice if someone cleaned up the cemetery. It might be a good boy scout project or even a church or volunteer community group clean-up. God bless the souls of the departed.
When your headed out on a excursion, why not have some brushes and weed clippers in each of your vehicles. That way, if you find a cool place like this one, you can at least clean the sites off and clip off some branches. That place needs a weed whack ever! Nice work finding this place in the middle of a development. At least the developer didn't build homes one top of the graves.
This may not have been the worst cemetery you have seen but it certainly is the saddest. It would be great if you took a brush cutter in and cleared some of the stones from the trees and plants. And Robert 2 you are correct when you say the younger generations are not interested in looking after such things. Thank you for documenting this cemetery. You are doing a great job!!
This was an amazing video on this cemetery we were glued to it, what a shame the city is not taking care of it, there is so much history in this grave site. We hope there is a way you can contact the city and tell them to please get the butts out there and start cleaning up some of the graves. It could be an amazing historical site. That grave from the 1700's wow. Thank you for taking us on this journey with you.
I agree with someone else that commented about community service. I think that's a great idea! Starting with teens on up to adults that have to do community service for whatever reason. This would be an awesome way to have old cemeteries taken care of in all towns/cities!
I greatly respect the good work you , another Robert and Cody have been doing for quite a few years now. It is sad to see how mankind has forgotten their own families but be assured that God has not forgotten any one and He will call them from
Thank you Robert and Robert and Cody for trying to clean up another cemetery , please be safe out there gentleman and God bless you and your family and friends
It is so low of whoever owns that cemetery to just ignore the graves that are older just because those people have no one left to watch out for them. Usually they are churches that abandon these cemeteries. They move away and just forget the graves. Shameful. I get upset every time I see one of these abandoned old graveyards.
If the church is gone, the congregation is scattered and likely gone too. Lord only knows who actually owns the property. Could be the county or city and they generally don't expend a lot of manpower on such places beyond the occasional mowing of what they can get to.
@@RepublicTX There is another badly neglected cemetery that these people found about a year ago that was within the city limits. The church still owned the property. They moved away to another site and just abandoned their original cemetery. It apparently happens far too often. The city should be responsible to demand that the property owners take care of the land. Everything turns into a legal hassle anymore and because most towns and cities are now bankrupt no one will address the care of abandoned cemeteries or buildings. Too expensive.
Maintaining all those graves requires money and time, no doubt. You can't really complain unless you're willing to pay the owners to do it as a full-time job. And the descendants of those buried people probably have no idea they existed.
I agree. I'm sure there's better ways of handling outgrown areas. I understand that eventually areas like this can get full but, I still think there's better ways to handle things than just say, oh well, forget them. I know if it was my plot with my own remains in it & it was decades & more later & I'm pretty much disintegrated by then. I'd rather see my same spot used by other generations in the family, then just have it abandoned & used as a farm to plant & sell groceries, etc... Just gross. I wouldn't feel comfortable knowing the food I eat is being grown in another's remains, just as I'm sure the future ones would feel if it were my own remains. Families pay for these plots. Therefore, there should be rights for them to decide to keep them in the family if they wish. Not for the cities, governments, etc... To just decide to do whatever they want to them or with them. And that's, well, were bored of taking care of these. So, lets just plow over them & pretend that we have no clue what happened to the records of their existence or their locations of their remains, etc... A home can play dumb, & the governments are the best at doing that. And this is proof that they sadly do that. A huge thank you to both Roberts, as well as all of their work crew, etc.... All people deserve to be remembered, respected, etc.... I'm sure all of the souls of these people feel the same way. :)
J Yes thank you.But it's also a shame that each state cant get other veterans to go into other cemetaries to clean them up. Thank you Robert , Robert.and Cody.
G’day Robert, Robert and Cody, thank you for bringing us along on another adventure. So very sad that this Cemetery is so overgrown. Take care from Melbourne Australia.
A friend of mine sent me this video. Sad how they've just forgotten these cemeteries. I have to say you're pretty brave to walk through that because I'm terrified of snakes.
My church assumed responsibility for the cemetery of a sister church that closed. We keep it maintained and have provided signage. Mostly cemeteries are cared for by loved ones. It’s hard to know why that cemetery is lacking caretakers.
I hope your exploration leads to the proper people stepping forward and cleaning those graves and the cemetery properly how disrespectful to know it's there and for the city/town to not do the right things and maintain that graveyard properly... So very sad to see those graves left unattended and uncleaned :(
Robert #1 you had me laughing when you told Robert #2 Be careful there Robert. If you trip or fall or something let me know ahead of time so I can get it on video.
I live in Southern Indiana and have been visiting a graveyard since I was young that has a circle of graves around 12 feet in circumference and it's soldier's from the revolutionary War. This graveyard is down a hillside and there was a curch/schoolhouse at the bottom of the hill. It's absolutely beautiful. It's fairly maintained and is marked at the top by a huge oak tree
That was fascinating. There should be some kind of service that would take care of places from time to time. Cemetery's are the history of the area. They have a story to tell.
I love that you care about the history of these forgotten places. I worry for you about snakes . I know you take care. I recommend a lopper. It works usually for me, I am old and small. The handles are longer than a hedge clipper, And it is more powerful.
I feel like the cities and counties all the old cemeteries are located in should be ashamed of their lack of obligation in keeping up these old cemeteries. Even in small rural towns the county should set up some kind of volunteer groups to keep them maintained. Or maybe use community service workers to help in keeping them up. It is ashamed that the final resting place of ancestors isn't respected enough to keep some weeds pulled and some grass cut.
I don’t know that the city or county owns it. Robert said that he thought it as affiliated with a church. They are the ones who should be ashamed of letting it get that bad.
You know some of those that are nearly invisible now can probably still be seen with a rubbing. One of the ones you said was completely gone and you then raised the camera to go to another spot and for just a second I thought I could read "George" on that stone. Some paper and chalk would bring those letters back. It may be the last chance those souls have of letting the world know they were once here. I can't help thinking that those poured concrete ones that are fading away the fastest are just showing us that the great depression is still giving these poor souls one last kick. (By the way - this was a great video. I'd love to see you guys take on a place like this and spend time (and volunteer hours) to really fix it up. Who knows how many other graves are in that very spot where you were walking. That would be one restoration project I'd really enjoy!)
I've spent a day volunteering at our neglected local cemetery in the UK and we loved it. This one is covered in blackberry brambles so you get covered in scratches but can snack on them too.
Just the fact that this cemetery has a couple of Civil War graves AND a Revolutionary War hero who are not being honored should be enough reason to maintain it. I find this appalling ! Thanks Robert and Robert and Cody for discovering them !
All of these are on Findagrave and usually yall are the 1st to put them there. I'm amazed that they are recorded probably by someone at the church!? yet this cemetery is clearly overgrown and uncared for. What a shame. Thank you for bringing the soldiers names back up to history. I am still wondering who's grave the very large cedar tree was planted next to. Wonderful history.
I really like this video. Very interesting. I just noticed on Find a Grave that this Shiloh Cemetery has a listing of the graves so far identified. One of the names is "Biggers". Didnt you guys visit another cemetery with that name in it? I thought I rememberd.
I'm big into genealogy also. I just recently took a trip to a site and with permission was able to go into private property and see what was left of an 1890's Stage Stop that was my Great great great grandparents. I could feel the family presence. I've been to several cemeteries that have my ancestors. I love these 3 keeping these people's memories alive.
Man huge, old & overgrown. Hey Robert, Cody & Robert 2🙋🏼♀️ Good to see y'all adventuring. Robert 2: "I'm overwhelmed by poison 'er thang!" LOL. U 2 always make me chuckle. Ja-eat-yet? .. Naw ju? .. Yont to? Y'all go feed ur faces 😜 Bahaha B safe & well✌🏼
You guys sure can find 'em! Dang. Always sad to see cemeteries overgrown, and the people for the most part forgotten. What is really upsetting is the veterans. If you fought for this country your grave should always be maintained. Thank you for the trip!
This video was done just yesterday. I would have liked to have been there. I pass by often and it does not look this large from the road. Thanks for posting. I hope someone will clean it up. I enjoy your videos.

Really cool guys! 💕👵 thanks for caring
You guys are amazing to bring the past to life, thank you
I love that you care about the history of these forgotten places. I worry for you about snakes . I know you take care. I recommend a lopper. It works usually for me, I am old and small. The handles are longer than a hedge clipper, And it is more powerful.
Did you guys forget your brush and tools?Glad to see another good video 😊 Revolutionary grave is fascinating
I wish I had all these old cemeteries to go to. I'm from Idaho and you usually have to find all the ghost town's. Great video. Loved it!!!
I wish we had ghost towns! Alabama is the same.lots of old old cemetery everywhere 6in 3miles of home.dozier Alabama pop. 320!!!
I love y'all's adventures! I wish I was able to go with you!!
Much respect to you and may God bless you for what you do
I feel like the cities and counties all the old cemeteries are located in should be ashamed of their lack of obligation in keeping up these old cemeteries.
I think that the nearest prison would be the right place to ask for volunteers to come and clean it up, since the church is gone.
Thank you for taking us through this overgrown cemetery!
I follow a guy here in Florida on RUclips he's found civil war graves out in the woods just by themselves.
@@marks.c4753 Yes , Florida Trailblazer ? I follow him also.
Love watching ur vlogs keep them coming please
All of these are on Findagrave and usually yall are the 1st to put them there. I'm amazed that they are recorded probably by someone at the church!? yet this cemetery is clearly overgrown and uncared for. What a shame. Thank you for bringing the soldiers names back up to history. I am still wondering who's grave the very large cedar tree was planted next to. Wonderful history.
Love your videos! I wished I lived in the area and help coordinate a clean-up day at the cemetery.
Robert, those are irises. Love y’all and what you do.
History says this particular iris (should bloom white) are called Cemetery lillies.
Such a shame that this cemetery is so neglected 😢
Sweet little faithful flower blooming brightly in a flowerpot over the graves., at end of video..thank you.
Beautiful. Thank you.
It seems like a good Eagle Scout project to clean one up.
I really like this video. Very interesting. I just noticed on Find a Grave that this Shiloh Cemetery has a listing of the graves so far identified. One of the names is "Biggers". Didnt you guys visit another cemetery with that name in it? I thought I rememberd.
Yeah it was a Biggers Family Cemetery they visited.
Interesting video, thanks for sharing
I'm big into ancestry and I know the names going back many many great grandparents. Sad so many are forgotten.
Amazing video and cemetery, just incredible.
That was really interesting great job guys👍
Love the way Robert patted the headstone ❣️❣️❣️
Thank you for the post. I always enjoy them so much. And that Robert's a hoot. Ain't nothing going to stop him! Love those Confederate stones.
"The other Robert is hungry, as usual"...😂🤣😂🤣
Man huge, old & overgrown. Hey Robert, Cody & Robert 2🙋🏼♀️ Good to see y'all adventuring. Robert 2: "I'm overwhelmed by poison 'er thang!" LOL. U 2 always make me chuckle.
Ja-eat-yet? .. Naw ju? .. Yont to?

Do you know any Holladays in Georgia? I had relative on my Mom's side who fought for the Confederacy Claude Jackson Holladay. Great video gentlemen.
So sad it hasn't been keep up. Thanks for sharing.
Sad to see it that way but great find Roberts and Cody Thankyou
You need do this in winter time. Thank you Roberts and Cody.
Do you ever explore around Effingham or Screven Counties? Beautiful Savannah River areas.
So much looks like here in TN. Love watching you guys.... like I'm there with you but safe from the thorns ,snakes and poison ivy.
Where I live if there's a civil war grave in an abandoned cemetery the county aubry state has a program that will go in and clean it to
You guys sure can find 'em!
