Research research research. At least they followed the clip through to the punchline. When I saw this originally in the 80s I too thought it was a £50 bet.
Peckham is in south London. Not far from near Camberwell
They used two different tower blocks one in Acton London and then used another one in Bristol when filming outdoor scenes. They did a lot of filming in Acton London before moving filming to Bristol.
probably filmed a lot in Acton as it is near White City wehre BBc have - or did, TV studios there - I think

I wouldn't even say research is needed, they just need 3get a box set and watch the lot rather than these little clips also she needs to spend less time copying the accents because she won't be able to follow it while talking through it

Peckham is approximately 2 miles south southwest of the Tower Bridge.
There's actually a pretty famous Only Fools and Horses quote in the middle of this episode. Uncle Albert (the old guy with the beard) says to Rodney who is wearing his bright white suit: "that reminds me, I'm playing dominoes at the legion tonight". You'll have to react to that clip sometime 😂
From memory too, I think Del goes on a bit of a rant and refers to Rodney as "Bertie Bassett here".

Nelson Mandella House Series 1 to 5
To avoid confusion Nelson Mandela House is fictionally based in London Peckham. Yet for the first 5 series, it was filmed in Acton at a block called Harlech Tower. This tower block on Park Road, Acton, West London, and part of the South Acton Estate is now called Acton Gardens.
Series 6 onwards Nelson Mandella House...
A newer block based in Bristol The backdrop for the later series of Only Fools & Horses, mainly due to its popularity being impossible to film in London Acton. So it’s “Nelson Mandella house” in the sitcom but in real life, we are at Whitemead House.
Oh and we have a cat called Dave 😁,

They all live together in a flat in Mandela House Peckham South London.
You talking about strippers coming out of cakes was very similar to another Only fools and Horses where there is a 'do' and the police arrive and Del Boy thinks the Policewoman is a police strippagram. Very funny!
That is the funniest moment in Only fools in my opinion.

You seem to always check out the very old episodes of this show. It ran until about 2003 and the later episodes were less dated.
If she spent less time mocking the accents she'd be able to follow it much easier. Also Peckham is in South East London
I don't think she's mocking the accent, she's trying to imitate the sounds she likes about it as she hears them being made.

Peckham is SE London, not far from where I’m originally from. This was one of my favorite shows when I was in the UK. It’s a classic! Good to see you guys again! Back in the day. They would have striptease at most working class 'do's' birthday / passing driving test / A level results etc. Then women started having similar with naked blokes. And fell out of favour and became specialist clubs that do nothing else.
Peckham is south east London I live 20 mins drive from there only fools is set in Peckham but was film in west London and Bristol cause when they was recording in Peckham to many people kept coming out watch them film and was to noisy for them to film in that location

Girl jumping out of a cake at a retirement party? The reality is people get to a certain age, and would rather have a normal cake.
A bramer, is a really good looking girl. These so called 'strippers' you talk of, I think you have taken for real strippers. You are getting confused between strippers and stripograms, that didn't necessarily take EVERYTHING off, but were just there really to make a joke, deliver a message, or to surprise someone. Sometimes they even dressed up as the police and pretend to arrest you, then start taking their clothes off, or do a slightly sexy dance. In one Fools and Horses episode, Del Boy mistakes a real police officer as a stripogram.
A poor area of London
In parts yes but there are affluent parts too, so quite typical of London really.
@@davidz2808 Yeah and it borders on places like Camberwell and Dulwich too and there are some very expensive properties in parts of those areas.
I miss the days of real comedy like this. All we get now is PC comedy preaching politics to us, which is not funny and not worth watching. You are becoming so British now as you understood everything in these clips, including all the slang and the banter.
