These Mesa amps can do mostly anything and with three channels, it's hard to imagine not being able to pull sweet tones from it. Great video!!

Great video, I’ve owned a 55 1x12 combo for a while now and initially I was a little upset because it wasn’t “rectifier” enough for what I wanted to
play at first. Over time the amp has grown a tremendous amount on me, this video really highlights all the niche knob adjustments, I feel like, in terms of sensitivity and overall tone characteristic. Definitely an odd amp
but a very hidden gem nonetheless🤌🤌

I love this amp. I play melodic metal, but I like to have a lot of note separation, this amp does it.

I recently got the long head version with a Mesa 2x12” cab. I think it takes time and patience to dial in your desired sounds but all in all it’s a highly underrated amp. And I’m glad that it is because you can get a lot of amp for the money. Anyone who can’t get a good sound from the Nomad should stick to their Line 6 Mega Meh amp…

I actually use a Mesa Nomad 55 2x12, BUT through Celestion Vintage 30. On chanel 3 Bass 7 Treble 6.5 Mid 2.75 Presence 7 Gain 4.75 and an excellent place in mixt using at2020 and e906 mid position each in sweet spot. I do even not a lowcut . I don't use any pedal, any plugin mostly playing with a Green Lespaul Classic 2017. We can do absolutly all styles whit this excellent amp I got for 500 $. I use the 6l6. And you know what ? I've gotten a Joyo bantamp zombie 2 xl just to compare with my mesa. And the Zombie 2 xl is very awsome too ! I love to use thoses two one !

I'm not in the room with you to "feel" it for real but if people really need more OD/distortion than what this offers I'm at a loss for words. It seems to have more than you'd ever need for most anything. Put an OD pedal in front and I'd think it would become anything you'd want it to be from what I hear in this video. Nice demo.

I am searching for as much good idea of tone these amps offer...I just bought a Nomad 100 head with the Mesa onboard 5 band Eq long head....comes in tomorrow...for the price I am willing to try it out...these seem to be in that weird place the Dual Caliber and F30,50,100 live ...capable but not quite a Recto, not quite a Mark series...mine was cheap because of cosmetic flaws...come on tomorrow!! Great video...love the Les Paul

It’s pretty mid heavy. Can’t really compare it to the Dual Rectifier, F-100, or Mark Series. I mean I will compare them in a video for fun lol... but different beast. Cheers -Ryan

@@Crypticmaskguitar I have Single, Dual and Triple Rectifier heads, F100 combo, DC3 combo ...had a MKV 90 head regret selling it but made money so will find another at some point....it seems people say adding an Eq on the 45 and 55 is a "game changer" ... hopefully having the Mesa 5 band built in helps tone shaping....if not, quick cosmetic refresh and on the net for sale! Lol
      Thanks for reply

It’s a great head. You need different flavours. There’s a reason lots of guitarists like yourself and myself have heads in the double digits. haha Cheers -Ryan

You can dowload the manual from the mesa official website. It has a lot of help to get some cool tones, because setting the right tones is not so easy. The pots works interesting, with interactions each other, but is explained in the manual. I have a 55 combo, its cool.

All that distortion without a boost? I can get the job done with that.
