Thanks for watching Mike. They do look nice all painted and the birds use them. I had to make more for friends and family after they seen them. Just made from scrap plywood I had sitting in my work shop. They have held up well also.
At what point did you realize your bottom board was upside down? LOL!! That's why the mounting holes didn't line up. Still worked out, good enough for sure. I'll be building a multi unit later this summer with my son, also with scrap wood, etc.
Although very nice looking, you have created a (potential, if any birds will actually decide to nest there) ecological trap for the birds. Sorry for being an a*hole but let me list some of them. Boxes are way to shallow, with the hole being big and in the centre and with the 'perching stick', it allows the predators like cats, martens and even covridae family (thanks to the stick) to easily access and fetch eggs/hatch-lings from inside. Painting the boxes makes them stand out from the surrounding hence it's easier for the predators to spot them. Dennis Price already mentioned other things so I there's no reason to repeat them. Other than that, houses look really nice as a decoration, and perhaps you could keep them that way :) They might attract other animals and bugs to nest inside, which wouldn't be a bad thing either.
Thanks For Watching. I suppose that could be true but since I dont have cats and have never seen a cat in my yard the birds are pretty safe here from cats. Although if a cat happens to venture into my yard the cat may become feed for my Dogs. Hopefully that doesnt happen. Thank You for pointing this out.
Hey thanks for your comment. That video is a little over 5 years old. Those birdhouses are still in use and are just fine. Painting them has kept them protected and the birds love them.
The only good thing about these birdhouses is the paint. But the constitution on these are below average, roof angles were way off, pieces had to be hammered in, just awful. Sorry that’s what I saw.
Yes. I agree with you. Thank you for your constructive criticism. I pretty sure at one point in the video I point out that these are just birdhouses and that they need not be perfect and that they were made with scrap wood that otherwise would have been thrown out. They have been outside for a few years now and are still holding up. I just cleaned them out for the upcoming spring. Thanks for watching.
Those birdhouse are going to look so awesome on the fence. Love your colors and designs you painted them, the Home Tweet Home is a nice addition!
Yes. Thank You! The birds have used all of them for nesting.
At the very least it's a decorative post cap. I bet the wife loves them. 👍 Every project teaches us something.
Great job !! 💖💖
Great job. They look fantastic. The colors make them pop really nice.
Excellent job those are going to be some happy birds.
Thanks For Watching! I agree! If I was a bird I would move in. Lol
Great job! Am going to make one for my back garden :)

Thanks for the feedback. Thanks for watching.
Like you said, its a birdhouse. Nice work.
How tall is it from bottom to roof pitch? Love them by the way, great way to use material you have and that's what I do.
I bought my first small nail gun the other day. Man those things are very nice
Nail guns are great. One of the best tools to have. Thanks for watching.
I would have put two screws on the top of the opening door from the side. That way they would act as a hinge., no need to have the other screws!
Great Idea! I’ll try that next time. Thanks for watching
They say the perch gives snakes and other predators a way in.
oh No....😮use a rubber hammer other than that looks nice 🦜🦜
If it’s on a fence it is no longer a bird house it is now a cat feeder

Stay cats will eat all birds from a house that is mounted on a fence!
I suppose they could but I have no stray cats roaming my yard. Thanks for pointing that out.
Nope.plywood will fall apart and its a death trap for birds.
