different mounting options would have been good as well. My birdhouse apparently need to be top mounted but I dont know how

I had one just like it with steel bracket on top secured with bolts. Raccoons climbed the pole, bent the metal bracket, ripped off the wooden birdhouse and killed the baby birds. This year I'll try again with metal baffle up the pole and grease it. Keep my fingers crossed.

You will need to check for utilities like water heat and power so the birds are comfortable. Unfortunately you will need to foot the bill

If you don’t add a baffle to the post, the nest will be vulnerable to predators. (Cats, snakes, raccoons, possums, etc.)

You Young men could make a career of this. Get a manual or motorised hole post digger and buy all the best birdhouses You can find. Instal them, concrete or not and get on to the next job. You Yanks are good at this and I copy some for my own use and build some myself. Nice hobby, career I do no longer want, am 80y young.
