    I backed the reprint while inebriated ages ago, and a shipping notification just reminded me. I am glad the game looks great!

    The deckbuilding in this game is surprisingly deep. Looking forward to more expansions to increase the card pool!

    Good playthrough. I enjoyed witnessing your defeat, lol. I have been playing Skytear Horde (solo) almost a couple of times daily since I got it and oddly enough, I am still unsure how I feel about it, which means I probably actually like it cause I keep playing it, lol. I find myself losing more than winning (on the second difficulty, ie. "Hard").
    I started Constructing my own decks which is surprisingly a lot of fun and this is coming from someone who avoids deck construction in games, I do not find it overwhelming in Skytear Horde. The Castle Restrictions really help keep me from being overwhelmed with my choices. Overall, this game does a lot of things right even though there may be a lot of little things to nit pick at. When you die, you will likely die horribly, but so many times I have ended up snagging victory from a MOST satisfying Hail Mary turn/play situation and just obliterating all who opposed me. It's like Po pulling off the Wuxi Finger Hold, prefaced with a raised pinky and a whispered "Skadoosh!" . The synergies that can be pulled off are well designed IMO.

    At 15:10 the Treachery card should have boosted the rightmost Monster, in this case the Onikai Minions. I believe this would be a permanent boost until the Onikai Minions were defeated. Not sure if it would clear if they are sent back to the back row at the end of the Pillage Phase.

    19:49 trample only occurs when there is excess damage after defeating an enemy (which this term is never defined in the rules - not sure if it includes the portal or not). Dragon Punch boosts your attack by +3. This should have gone all to the portal, there was no excess damage to trample with and therefore the minions would have remained alive.

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  Год назад

      I’m confused by your point here. I defeated the enemy, had extra damage left, and with dragon punch’s ability text chose to trample the minions instead of the portal. Where do you see a problem?

    • @Crusader050
      @Crusader050 Год назад +1

      @One Stop Co-op Shop I think he's pointing out the definition of trample, where excess damage from defeating an enemy would be considered trample damage. Since your mage crafters didn't target any particular enemy (and the yetnars cannot be engaged thanks to secret passage), you didn't have any trample damage to target the yetnars with dragon punch. So the 4 damage should've been assigned to the portal instead.
      I personally don't know if that's how it should be ruled but that's what the guy is suggesting

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  Год назад +1

      Ohhhh, yes, you’re both right. I forgot I wasn’t actually attacking an enemy there. Sorry about that

    So you can pull multiple minions into battle? I read the rule differently, but that would make things a bit easier for me! Thanks for the play through.

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  Год назад +1

      Yeah, you can pull away, though one thing I think I messed up is you always have to pull them into the leftmost free spot

    I'm on the fence about this one. Looks really similar to Fantasy Defense which I already own. Any thoughts on the comparison?

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  Год назад +2

      Huh, I had never heard of Fantasy Defense before. I just skimmed through the rules, and you're right, lots of similarities. Fantasy Defense certainly seems a lot simpler, and doesn't have the faction and enemy variety (and the promise of more deck construction options on the horizon), but that could be a good or bad thing depending on your preferences.

    How is the rulebook? I keep hearing about how the rulebook doesn't explain this and that. I also keep hearing this is a quick-play game but how long does it take the avg gamer (how many rounds) to get to that point? Seems like this would take several LONG games (with pauses and rulebook lookups) before this would become "quick" to play. So maybe 30 min avg time AFTER you know all the rules, terms, etc? But until then... 60-90 min a game, for 10-20 games before it becomes quick? I suppose that depends on which decks you use... so once you've mastered/learned one deck and get a quick 30min game time, you move to another deck and have to learn a bunch of new mechanics or keywords, so back to 60-90 min games, until you've mastered that deck. Repeat for next deck... I dunno... I'm on the fence. The token tracking with health and atk adjustments seems super fiddly. I'd probably use a bunch of say, red dice for health counters, white dice for shield counters, black dice for atk counters. Flipping dice or swapping out/placing tokens... fiddly either way.

      @OneStopCoopShop  Год назад

      I found the rulebook totally fine. A few things could be clearer, but I had no major problems. My games were down to 30-45 minutes very quickly, but that’s just me 🤷‍♂️

    Hi Mike, what game gives more fun Skytear Horde or Aeons End?

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  Год назад +1

      Personally I’m not a huge fan of aeon’s end, so I might not be the best to ask 😅
      But skytear is certainly the best of the two for true solo play. Two player might be more of a toss up

    23:59 you shouldn’t have lost a mana here. Your ally on the field should have lost one attack.

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  Год назад +1

      You are confusing the play effect and the treachery effect. In this step of the turn I was drawing/spawning cards. Treachery effects do not trigger here.
      The only way I would resolve the -1 attack effect is if I drew the card during the treachery phase before fighting.
