Hot start for Ira there! Good effort Chase 😊 Turn 3 when you played the Gothic Tower you had 5 mana, so you could have Browsed after playing the Hippogriffs if you wanted. It’s hard to remember the core mana when they’re off to the side sometimes. On the turn you played the Flaming Sword, it would usually be better to play any minions, then play the Sword on a turn when your Battlemage is untapped and can attack right away. The following turn, you could have hit Ira for 4 by attacking their avatar, rather than attacking the Land Surveyor, then put them to Death’s Door the following turn with Grapple Shot
This was so enjoyable to watch! I love your storytelling commentary to bring the battle alive, Chase! And what an ending. This kind of kitchen table fun is what Sorcery is about.
These gameplay videos have been so compelling for me as someone on the fence. These are so well done. What cameras, lighting, and audio setup is used for these
It is just a flying site, not a teleporting site. It moves nearby, so 14 was beyond its reach. But i think Chase not moving it for couple turns was a mistake, could have land locked the deathspeaker.
Yes! Airborne in Sorcery is a mobility power (move diagonally) and a defensive power (can’t be attacked by non-Airborne). But if the Airborne minion attacks, the opponent can defend normally. This is good for game balance IMO, and creates some interesting dynamics.
I never play do you need to use counters or something to keep track of mana if it increases and decreases during the turn and you can do other to react to spending it ?
Reminds me of some kind of combo of dungeon dice monsters and magic the gathering. It does look like mana ramp is going to be broken one day, those mana rocks playing cards that pay for themselves. If that gets combined with some good card draw you are going to regret it.
Just discovered Sorcery yesterday as a decade long Magic player. This game was sooo much fun to watch. The art and flavour is very nostalgic. I really want to start playing some games. Any fellow germans here, by any chance?
Hey Team, I'm rather new to Sorcery and am learning all the rules/interactions. I have a question about Avatar movement. Can they move 1 step per turn just like minions? And I'm assuming the downside to this would be you can't use their ability then? Love the content btw. Your gameplay vids are most helpful.
You are absolutely correct. They can tap to move 1 step like a minion (as well as attack!) - You can find out more in the 2024 updated rulebook here: sorcerytcg.com/news/sorcery-contested-realm-rulebook-2024
why is chase able to play crown of the victor straight to his avatar if his avatar is not on his own site? He cannot summon it to Ira's site to pick it up, or am I missing something in the rules?
Great question, happy to clarify! “When an artifact spell is cast, it is conjured into the realm atop any site you control or directly into the waiting hands of one of your units. A unit can carry any number of artifacts.” (P.19 Rulebook) In this instance the Crown of the Victor is being summoned into the waiting hands of Chase’s Avatar.
At 18min when Chase killed the land surveyor with battlemage and had screaming skull equipped should he not have untapped from the attack? And been able to attack Ira’s site for an additional 4
I still think just being able to attack a land is a poor mechanic, it seems the game was extended on purpose. Dont get me wrong I am a backer and I enjoy the game but something has to be done then just moving all of your minions to your opponents land and bringing the opponents sorcerer to deaths door. This is a great concept of a game I see it as Magic and chess put together, I just hope there is an adjustment with how you do damage to the sorcerer.
Aggro decks would be unplayable if you had to hit the enemies avatar directly to deal damage. it would also make direct dmg spells very overpowered compared to creatures, since you can block a creature but you can't block a spell. I think the compromise of being able to hit lands BUT having to deal the final damage directly is great for the game.
Wicked looking game but i hate the card that lets you play eachothers character.. seems really stupid and infuriating to have happen. like can you just make the other player surrender.... what was the thought behind that? that wouldnt be a "fun moment" it would feel terrible in my opinion. cant wait to try the game tho. Preorders in
@@randybobandy7203 its a game intended to be competitive from what i understand and am giving my opinion that that particular mechanic would not be as "fun" in game as you think but i also could be wrong. it is a game, i said as much when i said i couldnt wait to try the "game"
After you control your opponent, they control you! So in practical usage, that card is very useful to end the game, but otherwise it’s often a dead card in your hand because letting your opponent control you (and then they are back to their normal turn) is usually too high a cost to pay.

These videos are so entertaining please dont stop. I need to see Chase win one!
I laughed hard at that ending. Chase almost flipped the table at the end. This is why I love Sorcery!
Awesome video guys!
Man Frank Frazetta is such a good artist.
Deathspeaker is a tough matchup for Battlemage. Too many chump blockers! Good job guys!
so well done and entertaining! love to see more videos like this

That’s great advice, thank you! I’ll keep that in mind! - Chase
Ha! Love seeing y'all play and hearing the banter back and forth. Can certainly tell you're both having a great time!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
the ending LOL. love your gameplay vids :D
We had a lot of fun!

What a fun game to watch! Keep these videos coming!
Great game, I love these matches on camera :D
If that's true then we have a scandal on our hands!!!
When the Deathspeaker is at Death's Door, they can cast the minion for free! :)
@@IraFayGames oh! My bad sorry for my smart ass
What other game offers such a back and forth zanny experience? This is why I enjoy this game.
Old school yugioh
Awesome, these videos are so entertaining and I'm learning a lot!
Glad you like them!
16:33 how can Deathspeaker use ability summon dead minion but not on death door?
If you’re on death’s door the ability costs 0 mana. If you’re not on death’s door, you pay the mana normally.
I enjoy watching and learning at the same time.
Glad you're enjoying Sorcery!
Very awesome !!! The deathspeaker deck is pretty cool! Tons of ramp
The Flaming Sword!

At 26:45 Could chase have moved the cloud city with the deathspeaker on it and to spot 14 attacked for game?

Please give my man Chase an ultra oppressive control deck next time. I need to see my guy win one.
That was fun to watch. Great ending.
That was a fun one! Can't dawdle vs the Deathspeaker! 😳
I think I njoyed this one more than u guys did lol. Good job guys! that was epic ending
Glad you enjoyed!
Awesome game! I have the game preordered through team covenant! Question though? Is the playmat you have there going to be available to order?
Where are the Grey Wolves?
Future deck idea?!
The artwork might be the reason why ill start this game. Is there a digital version of it also?
While there is no standalone digital client, there is a vibrant table top simulator community you can connect with on the Sorcery Official Discord!
I never play do you need to use counters or something to keep track of mana if it increases and decreases during the turn and you can do other to react to spending it ?
This was a great watch. Really entertaining , enjoyed it alot.

Im new so Im trying to figure everything out. At 18 min or so when avatar kills land surveyer, shouldnt that deal one damage to avatar?
nevermind you both cought that just after haha
Good catch though! Sounds like you are picking things up!
That was a good watch! I love the battlemage energy Chase but Ira's back wall build up and 3 cores!! jeez 😅
Is there access to Ira’s Deathspeaker deck list? Seems like a really fun deck to play.
This was absolutely amazing.
Glad you enjoyed!

German here ☝️. Just got my starter decks and will play my first game this weekend.
Du kommst nicht zufällig aus der Nähe von Köln?
That was an epic game! I love to see it
Thanks for the help preparing! - Chase
Hi Ira, do you mind sharing your decklist? Looks interesting. Would like to try it if possible. Thank you very much.
Bro, i loved this game so much, i hope it comes to Brasil someday🥺
That game looked so fun!

this game looks like alot of fun!
too bad the starter decks are all sold out and everyone wants 35$
At 14:26 when you cast disenchant i think you were supposed to lose Onyx ruby and Amethyst core
Those are being carried by the Deathspeaker, the Battlemage was the target of the disenchant!
This was great!

He didn’t have Screaming Skull at that point, since I Disenchanted it earlier. :)
Good video; I thought the Deathspeaker ability was much more powerful, but in fact it seems it only triggers minions’ genesis twice, right?
wowzerz
Great video!🎉
Thank you!
3 cards and I have a full DnD adventure inspiration
This game is a real table flipper
Amazing game!
Browse seems like it would be great in an Air+Water deck.
Epic and super close match guys, that Courtesan topdeck was nuts! Best of luck next time Chase!
Such a close game…You’ll get Ira next time Chase!

The game looks fun although he got Owned, should have a Level up system with perks with more victories.
Shouldn't Ira be tapping his deathspeaker everytime he summons a dead unit? No wonder he wins if he uses both of his avatar's abilities every turn.
The cast-from-cemetery ability doesn’t require the deathspeaker to tap. :)
Yes it does. Read the card again.
This feels like Timmy vs Spike. Hard control player vs newbie, pretending he ever had a chance to win. vile
Ira doesn’t seem happy
Not sure if that was sarcastic, but in case it wasn’t, maybe you just caught a moment I was concentrating? That was definitely a fun game for me! :)

I agree that the "control your opponent's turn" card is a little bit overpowered. Maybe it will be banned from competitive play sometime ?

Love the art, prob ly will never buy the game
This would be a fun game to play were it actually possible to find product. This is NOT how you grow a fledgling tcg.
What is this game? Looks like magic rip off. Why would someone play this over magic?
The real question is why wouldn’t you, I quit magic to play this and it’s probably the decision I’ve made
I love tcgs and new ideas, but man. Ira (the guy on the right) holds cards as if he is doing it for the first time in his life. >_
Game looks fun, and the art is fantastic, but it looks like an absolute mess to play.
