If i had a nickel evertime, Woodkid composed music for one of the best scenes in a season if Arcane, I'd have two nickels. That's not a lot, but I'm really fuckin' glad it happened twice.
when you realize that the song in this scene is overtly sung from the POV of the Arcane itself, ,, condemning mortalkind for misusing it to play god with their machines and further their petty wars as it "punishes" them by glitching out their weapons. it's SO obvious when you actually look at the lyrics and I can't believe i didn't notice it sooner
like,,, "You waste your life to gain power You shift the game rules How does it feel to reach the line that no one ever got to cross? Does it make you a god now? Every sin will be forgiven If you lay down your weapons to the ground" this is overtly a plea of the Arcane @ all of the people trying to mix magic and weaponry. but they aren't listening to its warnings, and so i can only imagine that in the coming episodes the calling of these wild runes will only grow louder and LOUDER until they can no longer be ignored
So glad I'm not the only one with this reading This fight scene is visual brilliance of the highest level, yet underneath there's this unshakable feeling of horror and disgust as you watch it unfold

1:20 I adore this detail here of how Sevika seems happy about Cait biting her, the fact that she is FINALLY able to drag the high and mighty down to her level, the level she and her people have been forced to live at their entire lives while the people who put them there judge them from on high, the satisfaction of finally forcing them to stoop just as low...
It reminded me of a time when I was taking martial arts and my instructor was trying to teach a lesson about pain being used for distraction. I was supposed to choke him out and he did this thing that was supposed to hurt, and it did, but you can just push past. So it felt more to me like Sevika being amused that Cait thought a little bit of pain was enough to stop her. The other interpretation works too though.

This is it people, I don't think theres any media property that's doing what this series has done and I don't think theres others shows that have successfully done what this show has done.
The entirety of Arcane is in the meaning of this song. To ashes and blood? Reference to Silco and Vander, the lyrics? Misuse of nature, the relationships of people being torn apart. "Lay me down" like how Silco was being put down into the water akjdjskajdjd THIS SHOW IS PEAK.
