"Well ya can't have everything, can ya?" Absolutely love this clip. The Two Ronnies are iconic, no duo will ever come close to these two today. RIP to the both of them.
Brilliant!! This has got to be one their best sketches, Barker looks so much like Chas its scary. Apparently they loved this sketch too. RIP Chas and The 2 Ronnies
Absolute masterpiece 😆 so called "comedians" of today/recent years cannot even come close, to bring on the laughter that these guys achieved for many years, fab memories & loadsa belly laffs - comic geniuses 🤣 🤣
I like modern comedians. I wouldn't say they weren't as funny. This is next level comedy though with entertainment. It's not necessarily laugh out loud funny but its so well observed and heartwarming. The music and lyrics are brilliant. Such incredible multitude of talent and variety 😊
You can't have everything (can you?), but you can watch and listen to two legendary comedy duos bringing out the best in themselves and enjoy it for the rest of your life
How these two could do this stuff without cracking up defeats me. They came up with some of the best sketches ever written (a lot by Ronnie Barker). They must have had great memories just to get through one show. Their years of honing their talents before making it big on TV just shines through every sketch.
The real Chas & Dave must have been well chuffed with this, it's such a spot on impersonation of them! And you knew you'd made it when the Two Ronnies were taking you off! lol ☺️
Angelic Storm In his autobiography Chas Hodges said he was absolutely flattered that his comedy idols wanted to parody him and Dave Peacock. When he saw the finished result he was even more impressed; said Ronnie Barker wrote such a good song he'd wished Chas & Dave could perform it!
Chas & Dave should perform the song themselves! Especially now both Ronnies have passed on, it would be a lovely tribute to them for Chas & Dave to play it in their memory.
Ok, ok, we need people to learn this song and sing it in the pubs over Christmas 2021. Can ya do that? Can ya? Bring us some cheer? Record it and upload it to RUclips in UHD so we can all have a right good laugh at the other customers in the pub splurting their drinks out of their noses. :)
Apparently C&D loved it asked about using it as a single. RB (who probably wrote the lyrics) was quite happy for them to do so but the BBC wouldn't let them.
as kid in 70s watched show like this don't get me wrong thought morcombe wise were great but 2 ronnies were that bit better just legends why don't do shows like this anymore instead off rubbish they show now, just timeless
Antony Denman. Why sir indeed. The BBC have to meet their quota for muticulti. This kind of entertainment is now banned. No longer can the beeb produce an accurate portrayal of a given time. Reasons.
@@tonydavis6482 Don't talk garbage!. I was born in the Summer of 75 and grew up watching both the Two Ronnies and Morecambe and Wise, my grandfather loved M&W however he was wrong The two Ronnies were always echelons above Morecambe and Wise. Where do you get the snob thing from that must have been the other writers maybe the Monty Python mob, RB and RC never even had a private education, they were just grammar school lads.
Pam Herring in his autobiography Chas Hodges said he was absolutely overjoyed to have his comedy idols parody Dave and him! He even said “I wished we’d wrote it! It’s great!”
By some accounts C&D loved it and had asked to do this as a Christmas single RB (probanly wrote the lyrics) was all in favour but the BBC refused to let them.
yes you are spot on with those comments. the only trouble is that these days you have to be careful not to upset the snow flakes and pc brigade i grew up watching the two ronnies. today's comedy comes no where as good as the old days
two legend impersonating two legends , sometimes you can have everything
Wouldn't be without it.
No you can’t! It’s says it on the song!!!
❤
RIP Ronnie Barker, Ronnie Corbett and Chas Hodges
It's th genuine sense of affection for the originals that raises this so far above a normal pastiche
RIP Chas. True London son of the soil. Will never be forgotten

Probably the best comedy act to come out of Britain...top class stuff.... Chaz and Dave must have been well chuffed.... brilliant
Apparently they said GERTCHA!!!
"Well ya can't have everything, can ya?" Absolutely love this clip. The Two Ronnies are iconic, no duo will ever come close to these two today. RIP to the both of them.
Badge of honour to be parodied by the Two Ronnies. Love it! “She wants to have the telly on, he wants to have it off”. Classic double entendre.
all time fave comedians sadly no one todsy touches these legends❤❤❤❤❤
Brilliant!! This has got to be one their best sketches, Barker looks so much like Chas its scary. Apparently they loved this sketch too. RIP Chas and The 2 Ronnies
I saw chas and dave live about 10 years ago and they sang this Chas absolutely loved it
Wonderful as Chas and Dave sadly only Dave left now. Ronnie Barker and Corbett and Chas RIP.
Absolute masterpiece 😆 so called "comedians" of today/recent years cannot even come close, to bring on the laughter that these guys achieved for many years, fab memories & loadsa belly laffs - comic geniuses
🤣 🤣
Modern comedians are so Ironic,Knowing and Postmodern that they forget the Being Funny bit...

Rest in Peace Chas. Saw Chas and Dave perform when they were the support act for Status Quo a few years back. Brilliant
We saw Chas and Dave at Bestival on Isle of Wight. If all the artists, the party atmosphere they caused made them my favourite act
Pure legends all the 4 of them in time when tv was special and funny 🙏🏻🤣
“”Milk’s gone sour and so’s the wife” 😆
They were so very funny! I loved them and we never missed their programmes! A really clever and hilarious duo.❤️❤️💯👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🤗😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

You can't have everything (can you?), but you can watch and listen to two legendary comedy duos bringing out the best in themselves and enjoy it for the rest of your life
Unironically in my top five Christmas songs.

I dreamed about this bit, & woke up this morning with this song running through my head!
Ronnie b looks the spit of Chas.....
Great stuff... Legends
The usual excellent comedy lyrics brilliantly performed. Miss 'em.
You know you have made it when the Two Ron's do ya at Christmas!!
R.I.P. Two Ronnie's Classic Comedy
And yes, Chas and Dave loved it - and would have used it for a Christmas Single, RB was more than happy for it to happen, but the Beeb kyboshed it.
Wow, that's so interesting. I think they should do a version, make it go full circle!
Chas & Dave said their families thought it WaS them on the Two Ronnies.
Tombstone Harry Studios 4 classy legends
Chas & Dave should perform the song themselves! Especially now both Ronnies have passed on, it would be a lovely tribute to them for Chas & Dave to play it in their memory.
They were truly wonderful
"she wants the telly on....he wants it off" Priceless comedy.
Absolutely superb,they were the best!!
Playing that at Christmas 2022 nice 👍 one lads
From a London long gone
Absolute bloody classic!
I think with some updated lyrics, ie ‘pipe full o’ baccy’ this really could be a good old British Christmas song worthy of number 1.
Ronnie Corbett sounding more like an impression of himself here than when Rob Brydon does it :p
lol good stuff. Two of, if not the best comedians ever to come from the UK
Rip Chas . My missus can't half rabbit lol
True geniuses of british comedy for sure.
It's "Good night" from both of them. R.I.P.
ya, god bless , the two ronnies !!
absolute legends, my comedy heroes 100%
TRUE Comedy Legends
They are both together again!
"She wants to have the telly on, he wants to have it off"
The world was a much funnier place back then ...
It really wasn't
R.I.P. Chas, I bet that you and the two Rons are having a right knees up at the Angel and Harp up in Heaven.
Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit..Classic.
My favourite Chas and Dave song.
2022 AND THE TWO RONNIES ARE STILL THE BEST
Bloody Brilliant & Beautiful 😂🤣😂💎💎💎💎💎
Wow.This kind of quality just isn't happrning these days.Such talent, humour everything! Happy new year to the 2 Ronnies cos' they'll never die.

The best Christmas song I've ever heard
I’ll never eat again the rest of me life, milk’s gone sour and so’s the wife 😂👌🏻

True talent I cant laugh no matter how I try at todays so called comedians it's such an art form that very few possess.
Bet Chas & Dave wished they'd recorded this! RIP Ronnies & Chas
Apparently C&D loved it asked about using it as a single. RB (who probably wrote the lyrics) was quite happy for them to do so but the BBC wouldn't let them.
Classic!

Mr Barker was a geniou
Brilliant..True talent.

Wrong.....Eric and Ernie wiped the floor with these two.....they were both terrible snobs....and hated working class people..

@@tonydavis6482 Morecambe & Wise were ok, they had funny bits, but they were never good enough to even tie the The Two Ron's bootlaces
Gotta say, I just laughed my b*ll*cks off seeing little Ronnie with the banjo
Bloody brilliant this
I wonder where they got the crowd from, they did a great job singing in tune .fantastic fun, must have been great to be a part of it.
just a day's work for pro TV 'extras', I recognised a couple, Cy Town, Jay Mcgrath, old workmates.
Great Times back then.. all about the fun .. sadly lacking in this PC led generation where Image overrides fun! 2 truly great entertainers 👌
You sound like your own Gran. Grow up.
too good!
Chas would have had a right good laugh at this ...rip fella
He did! Wrote in his autobiography that he was both flattered and a bit jealous cos he wished he’d written it 😂
The problem with this is that it shows just how much better Chas & Dave actually are as their songs are comedies anyway and eclipse this.
Absolute classic 😂
Great Christmas song this
Chirpy geezers!!!
Lol ."She wants the TV on , and he just wants to have it off" , probably young ones today have no idea what that meant !
Yes, as anyone under the age of 30 rarely watch TV
Would have been a great hit if released by two ronnies or even Chas and Dave themselves
I think is and dave should a 🎄 takeoff of the 2 rons it would be fab their cooking is good 2
You can’t ‘ave everything can ya?
omg funny chas looks is king not a bad thing
Found out today that Chas Hoghes died today. Rio me old mucker.

❤️
thats almost as good as their Status Who take off of the Quo's the wanderer..... legends all of them....
Ian Price When soundchecking, the Quo used to sing The Two Ronnies version 😂
very nice.
Bet the actual band loved this.
In his autobiography Chas Hodges said he was both flattered and a bit jealous cos they wish they’d written it themselves!
The good old days of family entertainment. It was all down hill after the 70s when foul mouth comedy became the norm.
yes you are spot on with those comments. the only trouble is that these days you have to be careful not to upset the snow flakes and pc brigade i grew up watching the two ronnies. today's comedy comes no where as good as the old days
RIP💋❤😂😂😂😊🤣
