I could listen to Jesse all day. What a brilliantly articulate man and so many interesting stories to tell.
Agreed
Yup
Legendary
He is a great story teller and recalls things so vividly
Listen to will sasso impression
Jesse was a world class announcer and loved listening to him on Sat night main event.
Oh gosh, I'll never forget the time Randy Savage fought Jake Roberts on SNME.
Mean Gene interviewed Jake Roberts and was "shaking in fear" because of Damien the snake.
Afterwards, Jesse commented that he didn't know if Mean Gene was holding a microphone or a vibrator.
Vince McMahon did a double take at Jesse and went on with the show. 😂😂😂
Top 5 in wrestling history on coms.
No arguments to the ones who would put him as their No1.
I loved the older wrestlers. They preform great. I'm 50 years old. It was a great time for wrestling.
80s and early 90s is my fave time period for wrestling.
Jesse is probably one the classiest wrestler's to date.
Some of the best one liners behind the mic ever along with Heenan. 👍👍
Agreed love their commentary.
Classy? Since when is seeing a widow classy?
The Fabulous Moolah vs Velvet McIntyre. Moolah tosses Velvet and one of her boobs pops out. Moolah reaches over and pulls Velvets singlet back into place. Jesse to the Gorills "I told you Moolah was a classy broad".
I could listen to Jesse all day long.....such a great talker....man he would have some stories to tell...
Jesse is the man, I could listen to him all day. I wonder if he ever did an audio book. He would be good at it!!
Love Jesse or hate Jesse, you have to admit he has some killer great stories and one can’t help themselves but to listen to him all day long !
I loved when Jesse has George Steele on The Body Shop. George started kicking the weights and Jesse yells at him, "Hey! You better watch where you kick those weights. Those are my toes down there!" 😂
I agree with Jesse, and it wasn't just the match the entire angle from begining to end.
Absolutely !
Jesse stand up guy. Never a bad word for Randy when so many throw Randy under the bus
Jesse legit marked out over Savage every time. And McMahon would oogle over Liz and Jesse was genuinely dismissive of it.
Think about it. Randy had his wife around a bunch of half naked, sweaty men coming in and out of the shower and some were obvious womanizers. You'd be paranoid too if you were a man with a beautiful wife. Thing is he must of sensed this in her, as when she snuck off with Hogan and Linda she started banging a pool boy at a hotel they were staying at.
@@sleazyfellow Thats right! If anyone says different its bc they had bad intentions!...💯
I’ve never seen any shoots with people slamming Randy. Randy was well respected. Plenty of people have slammed Shawn Michaels, Hogan, Goldberg though
@@Derek70388 If you actually think Randy was a saint then you’re naive.
I've got to agree with Jesse on his choice of best wrestling match ever. I haven't watching the Macho Man v Steamboat match in many years, but I always remember it as the greatest match I ever saw.
@Randy marsh When did they fight bro? I vaguely remember it.
I remember that match between Randy and Ricky the Dragon Steamboat. That match was a long long match and it was a real match with real athletic abilities by both. First year of university, stayed watching it late at night.
Yes, he's a good talker - that's what made him one of the best commentators of all time.
Jesse talks about the Killer Bees. But, I also loved a lot of his quips. Especially, the one where (during a match) he, referring to Terry Taylor, asked ".. why a guy would name himself after a barnyard animal that scratches around for food".
There was one quip I never liked: When he called Tito Santana "Chico Santana". 🤦♀️😖
Miss Elizabeth was beautiful gal I would have treated her like gold Big John Stud Is Legend🥰💕
God these interviews are awesome. Jesse is the man.
2 greatest matches were Macho Man vs. Steamboat & Ric Flair vs. Steamboat. Jesse gave excellent commentary and was a great announcer. Had a nice strut with the boa when he entered the ring. That crap today can't compare to the 70's, 80's, and the beginning of the 90's.
I don't consider the match with macho man and steamboat great because they're was nothing organic about it they went over the match 100 times and rehearsed who knows how many times.
Sorry, I still have to go with Undertaker vs Mankind (hell in a cell) as the greatest match of all time.
Literally stopped and watched the match and continued with this video. Damn good match!
I have the DVD
He was one of, if not the first bad guy ringside announcers I remember. I can't recall if Heenan did it before or after him but it was the same era. That really added an interesting twist to the commentary and Jesse was great at it.
I recall in another interview Jesse saying he was the first heel commentator. Heenan was still managing full-time, though he was brilliant no matter what he did. Vince ran the idea by Jesse, as it had never been done before and told him, "If you think it, then it's true", basically letting him take the gloves off on commentary.
@@legionarybooks13 Yeah, now that you mention it, I think Heenan filled that void after Jesse left. Jesse was the first.
He and Gorilla were my all time favorite commentary team. Jesse was the heel but he would sometimes praise the babyfaces if they did something smart which I actually liked about him.
He did call out Hulk Hogan for being a baby face but having heel behaviour
I remember Honky Tonk always threatening to walk away from a match and get the DQ. Jesse would chime in “See how smart he is?? He’s the intercontinental champion. You have to beat him, he doesn’t have to beat you!”
Agree with him about Savage vs Steamboat at WM3. I was seven years old at the time and wrestling was my life.
That was the match I cared about most...much more than Hogan vs Andre.
It had a great storyline. And both Savage and the Dragon were great technical wrestlers who could do some high flying off the rope. They definitely delivered. Only some Steamboat vs Flair matches came close to this.
Hell yea, I was the same age and was all about wrestling too. With Macho being by far my favorite (i really didnt like hogan), I had followed the Steamboat feud from the start and although I was as bummed out as a little kid could be when Randy lost, that match set the stage for him turning face and getting the belt a year later...ahhh the good ole days
I never forget how I was glued to the tv. I was mesmerized!!
It was the best WM3 match (Savage vs. Steamboat) on the card, and possibly 1 of the all time best title bouts ever in WWF(E) I saw it at my cousin's house nearby when we both high schoolers on PPV back in March of '87. I was a junior & he was a senior. What memories!!🙂
Totally agree with Jesse, the match is a standout, legendary. I got a thrill in my guts from the mention alone.
Jesse the body Ventura, was one of the most articulate, intelligent and creative commentators ever to appear in commentary. I remember when he and Gorilla put up that great commentary at the Hulk Hogan and the Andre the Giant Wrestlemania Match. I watch that match severely, even this year. Great Match, Great Commentary. Jesse, respect, on Mr T, Jesse, commented when he was horsewbipped by Cowboy Bob Orton and Pippa..." this is Mr. T, being given exactly what he deserves..." 👍👍👍
If I could have a match like Savage & Steamboat mixed with Hart & Perfect and Michaels & Angle level I would be beyond satisfied no title needed just that one perfect match and I will never wrestle again.
For those of us who were youngsters in the 80s, I agree with Jesse there has been some great matches but there has never been since a match like Macho Man and Ricky Steamboat.
Hell in a cell Undertaker vs Mankind ring a bell?
I agree 100%! I have yet to see a match that the crowd was so into!
The storyline was perfect, and watching Steamboat beat Savage at WM3 was the icing on the cake.
Jesse was clever with his jokes. He knew they'd fly over kids heads. No pun intended. Killer Bees 🐝?
Him and John Stud. Both were my idols when I was a kid growing up in the 80s
Big John Stud in the military? Imagine seeing him coming at you on the battlefield.😲
still intimidated af either way
Great Khali was also a cop before getting into wrestling. Imagine him coming at you if you were a criminal. Yikes!
@@TheBoricuaKnife I've seen some big nasty MP's in my time in the Army. Big John Stud would have been terrifying to see as an MP.
@@TheBoricuaKnife I wonder if there is any thinking, when they get a guy like that, that he's an easier target on the battlefield because of his size? I have no idea either way but it would kind of make sense in addition to what a deterrent he would be as an MP on any base.
No tanks needed.
Haha drop any pollen story! I didn't get it until he explained it, but classic Jesse. So good. Vince should've done everything he could to keep Jesse. Was a rare gem in the industry. So good
I remember a LONG time ago, in fact probably 1996 or so, I was living in Buffalo New York and worked at a restaurant. We had a couple guys who worked with us who were really into working out, as was I, but one guy in particular was an amateur bodybuilder who had a very impressive physique. Back then the wrestling organizations were around a lot, and I guess came to the area once or twice a year. I wasn't really a fan having only watched it as a young kid with my brothers, but they were in town for a show or two, and one afternoon this guy and a couple of other kitchen workers who went to the local gym were all excited when they got to work because they said that there were some WWF guys working out that late morning when they got to the gym. Randy Savage was one of them, as was Sid (forgot the last name, but he was a giant of a man with blonde hair) and one or two more of them. They said they were BLOWN away at how cool they were. They told us that when some of the regulars got to the gym and saw who was there, they ran back home to bring their kids to meet them. What blew them away was how all of them, but particularly Savage, completely STOPPED their workouts and routines, and spent as much time as they needed to greet and talk to and answer any and all questions from the little kids. They said you could tell it was GENUINE. They were blown away at how cool and nice, and HUGE, these guys were. I always remember how that impressed me and I was quite saddened to hear of Randy Savage's passing so young.
Never heard him laugh so hard before.
I loved his color commentary, him and McMahon were hilarious.
…the way Jesse would finish his sentences by saying McMahon’s name in disgust 😂
“Did you SEE that, McMahon??”
Him and Monsoon were gold too.
“Back to you, Mc-MANN!” Or “Back to you, Mean Gene the Hot Air Machine!”
@@MrVisde
Of course not, McMahon, with those *trifocals* on!
Never thought I would see The body laugh that hard😂😂
At his own joke
🤣
Jesse has always been a favorite! I stopped watching wrestling after all these legends weren't on anymore.
The PERSONALITIES in that era! Oh yeah!
Jesse really loved his "Pollen joke".
Love Jesse
One of the truest guys out there
No bs in him
OMG!!! Wrestlemania 3!! I just watched it the other day again! Haven’t watched it in over 20 years 😭😭😭💕💕💕❤️❤️❤️
A living legend!
Jesse Ventura was my uncle's favorite wrestler, commentator, Governor etc. He even went to Navy Seals with Ventura! They're Same Age! Ventura, Ur Best! Respect
The legend lives on the greatest WWF color commentator of all time.
This man talk about how you see it or call it. If we all hear instead of listening what a world. Love Jessie
Class act.... Great speaker. Tells it how it is with no apologies.
Back in 1991, Jesse was hosting a cheesy game show called "Grunge Match" at Universal Studios and I got his autograph.
How much bigger was he than you thought?? Not muscles but just a big human being!
@@rommyremus9650 If I remember correctly, I think he was slightly shorter than me and Im 6 foot.
Grunge match? Who were the contestants - Kurt Cobain and Eddie Vedder? 😃
@@SairajRKamath LOL Here is one of the episodes: ruclips.net/video/naWnxwmnHrk/видео.html
@@SairajRKamath
Haha. Eddie Vedder wins.
FATALITY
in other words, the guys complaining about savage hovering over Elizabeth were pissed because they out to screw her.
in reality, Savage needed to be protective of her with a horde of wolves sniffing around her.
It was ironic since when Elizabeth was with Macho Man, nothing happened. But when she divorced him and married someone else, she had an affair with Luger.
@@TheGary108 And Luger introduced her to roids and painkillers and the rest they say is history.
And sadly look how Elizabeth's life turned out after divorcing Randy Savage.
That last part with the killer bees was hilarious😂😂😂
The best part of the interview😂lol
Killer bees dropping pollen 🐝
Yea WM3 Savage VS Steamboat best match ever. Especially the fued leading up to the match, when Savage dropped the ring bell on Steamboat I was so mesmerized...
The two men that scared me the most as a kid, Macho Man and Jesse the Body Ventura, because of his size.
Way back in the 80s, here in Melbourne, Australia and aired on the ATV Channel 10 Network, in the 7:30 PM slot, on Monday evenings, WrestleMania arrived and man did it explode in the ratings. We Aussies hadn’t ever heard of Hulk Hogan, B.J.Stud, Ricky The Dragon Speedboat, etc. But Andre The Giant we did. Back in the early 70s, we had our own wrestling stars like Mario Milano, George The Animal Steele, I think he called himself, anyway occasionally Andre came over to challenge our stars. Well Guess What? He always won. But I loved those times.👍🇦🇺😁
Wow, I love how happy he is!
I love how repeats his own punchlines, marvelling st his own comedic genius.
"Ya see, what I meant there, is whether they got laid! You know, had sex! Intercourse! You know what I mean?! Coitus! Ya get what I'm drivin' at. Any-who..."
Let's bee honest, it had some sting to it!
"Hey, that's the *champion's perogative* Macho Man..."
"CHAMPION'S PEROGATIVE! And I just exercised that option!"
I love the way he kinda rocks back and forth when he talks.
Jesse popping over something he said long time ago is Jesse Ventura. Still holds for him after all these years.
LOVE Jesse the Body ! One of my all time favorites !
Did you drop any pollen? That one is going in the memory bank hahaha!
I agree with the body Ventura. Macho and the dragon had a bad ass match. One of the best matches of all time.
I didn't think TMW would upload another clip of the RF Video Jesse Ventura Interview.
I laughed when Ventura made a clever line of asking if the Killer Bees got some by saying,"Did ya drop any pollen?"
Thank you, Title Match Wrestling. :)
"Pollen", and funny indeed.
"A thumb to the eye will stop anyone, McMahon."
Macho Man: unjustifiably in a position i dont want to be in. But the cream rises to the top. Oh yeah
Vince: damn Randy where are all the creamers?
Macho Man: (in the distance) OH YEEAAHH!!
I loved Macho Man and Rick Steam Boat where my favourites too.
2:15 just great to hear his laughter.
If it weren't for Ventura's heel commentary....
What a great killer bees story. Just hilarious.😂😂😂😂
This man should be President right now.
Jesse the Body, he was awesome, and really great on commentary too. I watched everything he did, and I loved it when he was paired with Gorilla or McMahon on the mic, it was always funny as hell. The only person better on the mic was maybe Bobby the Brain.
Miss seeing this guy in the news and on tv.
The Greatest and The Very Best Match in The History of Professional Wrestling is The Macho Man Randy Savage vs. Ricky The Dragon Steamboat for The Intercontinental Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania 3. No question about it man.
i was to young to see jesse wrestle, i remember his commentating was brilliant, navy seal, wwf star, governor, all-round champion, shame he never ran for president
interviewers always try at some point to get em smearing Randy, but it dont work with Jesse. Jesse is a stand up guy. a goodfella. all respect for Jesse
Smoked a lot of weed with Jessi back when I was Vince's driver back in 88-90.
Stories please
savage and steamboat is one of my favorites
Captain Freedom strikes again.!! Rarely have I seen a man enjoy his own joke so thoroughly. "Did you drop any pollen?" Ouch! :-/
I love Jesse Ventura.
Jesse was not only a flamboyant wrestler of the AWA he was a great announcer and a governor of Minnesota.
Poor governor. I'm sorry I voted for him.
@@tboman4128 As Jesse would say you can't legislate stupidity.
That Match Stole the Show They Should make a Movie about that Match.
, I just want to hear him say the line from predator you know the one goddamn sexual tyrannosaurus lol
when Jesse was talking about pollen, i assumed he was talking about powdered drugs.
Now I see why he felt compelled to explain the fairly obvious joke at the end.
First time ive seen jesse laugh 😅
Seems very honest and upfront. He definitely wasn't the go to guy regarding Macho man & Liz
I agreed with his Steamboat vs Savage comment. The second best I've seen is Savage vs Flair
absolute best to interview
Great to hear him laughing out loud
I was with Blair one night and asked him in front of the girls he was talking to what are you doing trying to pollinate? Careful girls he's trying to get some honey on a stinger! 😂😎
Forgot he's ex-Marine! I think him and his co-star who played Chavez in *"Predator"* are ex-Marines for real. Badasses.
Jesse is a former Navy Seal, not a Marine
@@ninolama Thanks for the correction. I heard he was one or the other.
@@ninolama not quite Jesse was a member of the UDT, Jesse never completed the extra training. Granted the UDT's were disassembled(lack of better words) and combined with the seals but that didn't happen until after Vietnam.
The first table ladders and chairs match was the greatest match ever
The one with the Killer Bees! To funny😂😂
I always remember big john stud because he was one of the first to have a “12” figure. Those original figures are the best. Except when you would misplace the little plastic championship belt that cam with the hulkster.
Randy was one of a kind ❤
Jesse and I are on the same page.....I'm not saying he is perfect but I respect his honesty
Macho man randy savage was my favourite during the golden era
He was 10 × better the performer than hulk hogan. Hulk hogan for me is overrated his matches were mostly burials or ppl making him look better than he actually was
And his promo work was legendary corny.
Totally agree with you 💯
The pollen joke was funny
This brings back so many memories for me!
Jesse is a champ, honest dude
Despite his politics. He has a very intriguing voice, and his work on the Wrestlemania 20 dvd was great. As well as his commentating on tv back then.
Macho Man and Elizabeth are remarried in heaven for 12 years
I remember Savage forcing Jesse to give 3rd pin count on Ted Dibiase at Summer Slam😊
I heard somewhere that when Randy would go on the road, he would buy Elizabeth a bunch of TV dinners so she had no excuse to leave the house.
"Shuddup Mick-maaan, I do the replays!"
It's not that often that you hear from a guy in that era who avoided trouble and preferred to hang out with a family man.
Jesse the original honest good guy.
I recall hearing another wrestler saying that John Studd was a really great guy.
