the movie takes place in Colombia and the whole scenery actually does exist, so people can visit.

The great thing about Isabella’s part in this song is that when you listen the first time you think she’s the only one who’s happy with Bruno’s prophecy but when you rewatch it you realize that (SPOILER)
She’s actually unhappy with Bruno because she’s been promised “the life of her dreams” but she’s being sentenced to marry a man she doesn’t love and is stuck playing the role of a perfect daughter
@@ZekaZen yeah it happens eventually but by the point they sing “We don’t talk about Bruno” it doesn’t happen yet so that’s why she’s upset
At the VERY beginning, I thought it was hilarious that Pepa says "It was *my* wedding day"
And then Felix sings "It was *our* wedding day."

The family is split by colors... Pepa's family are all in yellows and oranges, Julieta's family are in blues and purples and Bruno is in brown and green. Also all of their clothes are embroidered with something that represents their power... Julieta has herbs and foods on her dress because she heals with food, Pepa's dress looks like the sun and she controls weather, Luisa's skirt has some dumbbells on it, Dolores has soundwaves, Isabela has flowers, etc... it's kind of cool the amount of details that went into this... oh and Mirabel has lots of butterflies on her dress like abuela! but abuela's butterflies and all perfectly places and geometrically even whereas Mirabel's are more randomly placed... which showcases how abuela is very strict and proper while Mirabel's view of life is more artistic and less controlled.
I think mirabelle didn't get a gift cause she had to be the successor to abuela. Who is also powerless, that's why she got a key to the whole house. Perhaps every generation moving forward, there will be a powerless madrigal and that would be the sign that they are meant to rule, because its only when you are not powered that you can see the issues of the powerless and flaws of the power.

If you look at the original concept art of the movie, Abuela did have a power but it was the Casita itself. The wallpaper would change depending on her mood.
We don’t talk about Bruno passed let it go. Dolores and Camilo are my favorite parts in We don’t talk about Bruno, I always sing Camilo’s part the guy who changes into different people, he’s one of my favorites, he isnt even a singer and you wouldn't even tell, he's an amazing singer, if you notice in the we dont talk about bruno the umbrellas are the color of the columbian flag. I don’t care for frozen and never seen it. My daughter saw Encanto in her school and she loves it, so I just watched it. She didn’t get a door inside cause she got the door to the whole house. Btw her dad is Fez from the 70’s show. trust me i cried too, this movie is so amazing and im not much of a hug fan of modern disney movies, but i like this one alot, it tells you that you're more than just a gift.
Lin was surprised at how popular it is, I saw on one of his interviews.

Everything Bruno told Isabella can be seen happening in 'What else can I do'. Her power grows as she stops caring about it being perfect and the life she dreams of is being free of being perfect. Isabella's pressure is one of the worst and king of insidious as she looks a lot like abuela Alma did in the past, so Alma is trying to live her 'perfect life' through her granddaughter. She basically groomed Isabella to be her and so pushed for a marriage to someone that looks like her Pedro so Isabella can have a 'perfect wedding', not seeing how unhappy Isabella is or how she hates Mariano as he is only a shallow pretty boy in her eyes.

Bruno’s power is that he’s a prophet, however he can only see “bad” prophecies. Bruno confirms this himself when he says that every single time he does a prophecy, no one appreciates it because of how horrifying the prophecies are.
So how does this correlate with Isabella falling down from the rose swing and claiming that she had a golden prophecy from Bruno? The implication here is that she’s lying to Maribel because Isabella is responsible for being “absolutely perfect” and Bruno’s prophecy on her likely creates a liability.
