Thanks Dave and Camera lady 😍 beautiful Blondi you have. I have a confirmed female Stirmi, it’s really an adventure to set up an enclosure for them. My christmas present was the biggest Exoterra existing 😂 so i spent a whole afternoon setting it up for my big brown critter. It’s bioactive and a joy to watch the system living and growing.
That tank has to be heavy with all that gravel substrate and water, and with a hair kicking Theraphosa, I'd be wearing a space suit, or at least a mask. I used to hold these spiders but they are to itchy anymore. I handle or transfer these at ground level always.
My jaw dropped when you put her original enclosure on your table. Is the male the same size? What an awesome specimen. I've watched quite a few different channels and, I must say, no one has better behaved spiders than you. You have the touch.
With most tarantulas the male is smaller. So ill assume its the same with this one? Very rare for the female to be outsized by a male from what iv learned watching this channel 😋
You can make your own dishes out of air dried clay acrylic paint and pond sealer , there's a you tube vid on how to make them (tarantulatastic enclosures I think) so you could make any size/shape you like if it helps 😊 I have tried myself and enjoyed it alot . She's amazing btw gorgeous t's great vid as always ❤
That's one massive T ! Maybe one day I'll have a huge Theraphosa as my ultimate display animal, but if I'm being really, really honest, odds are that display spider will either be G. pulchripes or G. iheringi. Neither reach that massive 10+" size, but a 7-8+" spider is still an impressive sight. Best of luck with your T. blondi breeding efforts. More captive-bred of these means less taken from the wild. Always a good thing IMO. Stay safe and thanks for sharing :)
Dear Dave, I'm always impressed by your videos. I am fascinated by spiders, but unfortunately I am also very afraid of them. These videos are also a bit of therapy for me. With many RUclipsrs who handle spiders, I have the impression that it is more about sensation or they are afraid of the animals themselves. Often you also notice that you can't handle the animals. So a big compliment to you: You seem very calm and professional. You can tell that you have an idea of the topic and that you are careful with the spiders. Keep it up, I'm looking forward to a lot of great videos. Greetings from beautiful Liechtenstein.
I was afraid of them to but ones u have one for a while,u get used to being around them ,them eye sight isn't very good maybe 6 inches at the max they can see ,just go slow an everything will be ok , If u get one make sure that it hase a good home ,if a spider feels like it's going to be eaten it will defend its self ,everything on earth will fight to save its life ,plenty of places to hide like in the wild ,an ull find that layed back clamspider ,start with a new world there slow non aggressive an are just like pet dogs ,a lab ,it's a great hobby hope this helps 👍
wow great video and set up and I do remember the Theraphosa Blondi I am sure I have been watching form before 1k subscribers and low look almost 30k WOW !!!! congrats
Within seconds of you saying you needed more compost, I had an advert pop up on my phone saying “do you need more compost?”-a garden supplies company! My phone is listening…..
No offense to the other channels i tend to like your channel more as having arachnophobia though still interested in watching from my safe spot of my phone screen you do care for the spider and not stressing it out and i do believe as with all animals all be it insect or mammal they very much so have their own way to sense it and react accordingly. As always great vid
Such a beautiful and expert transfer, I like the simplicity of the enclosure. She is a magnificent girl! I'll be looking forward to the pairing :) Lovely camera work. 👍

This girl is huge happy you got her.... the minute you put her in that big inclosure it didn't seem that big annymore it does have that hobbit groove going on .i love it ..cant wait to see her being a mama...well that was fun thanks
Id love to see you get some really nice looking orb weaver spiders and maybe also some of those ones that kind of hang upside down and wait for prey to go under them and cast a net of web over them... you know like those really fun spiders that I like to avoid,
Would be a dream to have hour+ long videos, I love watching and listening to his videos and camera lady does a fantastic job with recording and counting babies xx
Bloody hell, your habit of balancing tanks on things like the edge of the desk or that little box plays havoc with my nerves! Apart from that, excellent video
She is gorgeous Dave.ive got a sneaky suspicion mine could be a Male.from sling to 7" in a few months.either way Male or female it's still a stunning spider.looking forward to the update on the breeding.
Oh my. She is just lovely. So calm and confident. She is going to be a favorite of mine. I will call her Devine..a name She is worthy of. I could not help but notice a bit of a Buhda Belly coming along..my husband has a small one like you and I rub it every morning after coffee for good luck and a happy day.😄 Another successful housing...these are my favorite one..second are the ones about retrieving the egg sacks and transferring the babies.
Brings back memories! I had a female years ago, about that size, when I was living in Daly City, CA. I remember hearing her climbing at night, hanging upside down from the mesh top of the terrarium. Clunk, clunk, clunk. I was at work in San Francisco when the Loma Prieta earthquake hit and my biggest worry was that I would come home to a mess of terrariums spilled on the floor, with a bunch of spiders running amok. Fortunately, my apartment didn't get much shaking and everything stayed put. Whew! And, yes, I'm VERY jealous! 😁
She was such a good girl!! Never kicked any hair and just walked onto the lid of her catch cup!! I love large hefty tarantulas!! I have 2 LPS... the salmon pink bird eaters! I'm hoping for a male and female so I can breed them. I got them from different breeders, so hopefully I'll get my wish with the sexes!!! Your girl is gorgeous! I can't wait for you to breed her!!!🤎🤎🤎🖤🤎🤎🤎
Is it possible watching these videos helps me overcome arachnaphobia? I will let house spiders just walk on to me know and put them outside my home. I couldnt imagine doing that before!
i regret getting finger prints over a new glass enclosure, after putting my spider in i sat back and all i could see was smudges that got worst and pissed my spider off when i tried to clean it !
That's a BIG Girl! I myself don't keep them anymore, I just can't stand they're Hairs. But I still like them a lot. Nice Setup again. Looks a bit like Bagend. So Shelob is moving in now. Fingers crossed for the breeding 🤞
