    Hey Tony, your attention to even the little details on this video really helps. I have a red 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500 HD very close to yours. I need to put on towing mirrors like yours for pulling my trailer. My truck has fixed side mirrors with, (no extension, no turn signal, no heater) built into the mirrors. My truck AC/Heat control unit does have a switch intended for a rear window defrost and/or mirrors, even though I do not have a rear window defrost either.
    I'm curious if you think these mirrors you installed would likely have working turn signals and mirror heaters with my truck?
    Thanks for the great video and the links to the mirrors you installed.
    Best regards...

      @TonyTheTruckGuy  4 месяца назад +1

      @@lewchaney2138 The heat function MIGHT work, but I’m unsure if the turn signals will work because it depends on if your door switch has the pins for it or not. I would probably contact which ever brand you plan to go with and ask them directly since different manufacturers probably wire them a bit differently or have different options. I had someone else ask me the same question but I’ve been unable to confirm unfortunately.

    • @TonyTheTruckGuy
      @TonyTheTruckGuy  Год назад

      I don’t have a video on that but you can definitely do it. You’d just have to use a test light to figure out which wire at the headlights switch is for DRL and tap into that, or run a wire out the the DRL socket wiring. Reverse is a bit more tricky… I think you’d have to tap into the reverse lights.

    Hey, I was trying to find your video about programming a key fob for Toyota. It was on another video you said look out for that in the future it was about two years ago. I was wondering if you could send a link or give me some information on how to do that. Hey man I just installed these the same way you did. But whenever I have my headlights on, the running lights turn orange but when I turn the headlights off, the running lights go to white. • @TonyTheTruckGuy
      @TonyTheTruckGuy  10 месяцев назад

      Not sure why it would work fine with the truck off and then not with it running that makes zero sense unless you tapped into an ignition power source instead of the headlight switch. Might have some wires crossed because the white should be running light not orange, just the blinker should be orange. I’d give everything another look over to triple check it’s all connected right and if you’re still having issues then maybe snip the running light wire and see if the blinkers and everything are working properly. Might have to tap into a different wire on yours for some reason but mine gave me no issues
