Thank you so much for your help and bring us a really detailed video.
Excellent video. Very very helpful.
Thanks! Glad I could help.
Tie a nut on 550 cord shoot it through a boot then use a magnetic bolt retriever to fish the cord. tape your wire to the bolt pull there wire back through, I learned this little truck running wires through some pretty wild motorcycle bars lol
Love the video! It’s very helpful. Hopefully putting my new mirrors on Tomorrow night. My only question is that I want the reverse lights to come on everytime I put my pickup in reverse. So where do I tap that into?
You’d have to run the wire and tap into the reverse light wiring at the tail light unless you can find a wiring schematic that shows somewhere closer to the cab to tap in like maybe the fuse box if there’s a reverse light fuse.
Tap into the trl back up fuse
Awesome video. What if I want to connect the blue wire to my drls and the white and gray to my reverse lights ? Can that be done through the dash too ? And does anyone have a video for that ?
I don’t have a video on that but you can definitely do it. You’d just have to use a test light to figure out which wire at the headlights switch is for DRL and tap into that, or run a wire out the the DRL socket wiring. Reverse is a bit more tricky… I think you’d have to tap into the reverse lights.
I’m also in MN, I have a 2003 Chevy Silverado 2500HD and recently when I tried to start my truck I only hear a click but the truck doesn’t start. The headlights, radio, locks etc work
Hey neighbor! 😎 Just a faint click as like a relay inside the cab? Or a more solid click like the starter itself? If it's the latter, your starter is likely out because the clicking at the starter is the solenoid engaging and trying initiate the starter itself with no response from the starter motor. Mine still works on this truck but the starter on my "01 Sierra did the same thing and crapped out on me.
@@TonyTheTruckGuy Hi, a solid click! Do you have a Facebook page or even an email? I can send you a video of what I’m hearing.
@@briizcustoms9543 Probably starter then but you're more than welcome to post a video to my Tony The Truck Guy Facebook page or email to Tonythetruckguy@Gmail.com
Thanks brotha you saved my bacon. Let us know, if you found a way to shut all the lights off, while the truck is running.
You can spam the round dome light override button by the headlight switch I think 6 times and it will disable the DRL’s. My switch must be messed up though because it wasn’t working lol.

Do I need extra wire like you have and do I have to route them through the cab like you did or can I just plug them into the old ports and use them that way
They come with all the wiring. You can just plug the new mirrors into the door panels like the old mirrors and use them like that, you just won’t have a forward facing running light or the rear facing backup/cargo lights on the mirror.
@@TonyTheTruckGuy ok thank you for the info great video aswell
@@Killer-xn3qf Thanks!
Did you have to do any extra wiring for your drls? I bought some yitamotor tow mirrors for my avalanche and my drls arent working so ive been oitsourcing to figure it out, everything else works but my drl white lights
@@codywheelus4887 If you mean the forward facing lights on the mirrors, mine are markers not DRL. They only come on when the headlight switch is in marker or headlight position, unless it’s on auto and it’s dark enough to trigger headlights.
When I’m applying the blue wire into the green plug, how would I go to put that brown wire and the blue wire together?
Splice it like the rest of the wires as shown at 1:02:00 using your preferred splicing method. Just gotta jam 1 end of brown wire into 1 end and then the other end of brown along with the blue to the other end.
And problems with adjusting them? Im looking at buying these because I already have an aftermarket set on my truck but they wont adjust like they should to see out of them properly.
Both these mirrors adjusted up/down and left/right as I needed them to. I don’t adjust constantly but I didn’t have any issues setting my initial adjustment.
Hey, I was trying to find your video about programming a key fob for Toyota. It was on another video you said look out for that in the future it was about two years ago. I was wondering if you could send a link or give me some information on how to do that. The guy at the dealership said that you shouldn’t have to program it he just replace the battery and now all of a sudden my key fob doesn’t work.
If it’s just battery replacement then you shouldn’t have to reprogram. Double check there’s no sticker or plastic on either side of the battery and that it’s secure/making a good connection. And of course make sure it’s not in upside down. I’ll find the video and post it for you though here

Hey man I just installed these the same way you did. But whenever I have my headlights on, the running lights turn orange but when I turn the headlights off, the running lights go to white. When the truck is off they work correctly but when the truck is on it does that. I wired it the same way you did. Would you have any ideas why it does that?
Not sure why it would work fine with the truck off and then not with it running that makes zero sense unless you tapped into an ignition power source instead of the headlight switch. Might have some wires crossed because the white should be running light not orange, just the blinker should be orange. I’d give everything another look over to triple check it’s all connected right and if you’re still having issues then maybe snip the running light wire and see if the blinkers and everything are working properly. Might have to tap into a different wire on yours for some reason but mine gave me no issues
Will the wiring work with an 02
Not sure. They are marketed for 03-07 so you’d have to take your 02 door panel down and see if the connectors look the same. I would guess they would work but I don’t know for sure.
What year truck did you install these on?
2003
Would really prefer more videos on a 2007 Toyota corolla. Say, how to replace calipers?
I do have a video coming up on replacing pads/rotors on a 2007 corolla, but no calipers at this time. I will be replacing them in a few weeks though, and I'll be making a video on it then.
Your stock mirrors had power extending, how come you lose that function with the new ones?
Because the new ones simply don’t have a motor in them and are a different style. They would cost 2-3 times as much if they added that function probably.
Great video, i just ordered the same mirrors and after watching your video i was planning on installing them the same, only problem is that im installing them on a suburban 😑 it doesn't have the dome light like your truck mines got the back window wiper instead, how would you recommend me installing them??
You’d have to wire yours into reverse then, or add a separate switch and run the cargo light wire to that.
Thank you for the quick reply.
@@JoseRamirez-jf6mh Any time!
Hey man, just put them on everything works great. Only thing is when I turn on the heated glass the little light indicator on the mirror doesn’t light up even tho the heated glass actually works
It’s not supposed to light up haha. The heated mirror logo is just etched or printed onto the glass like the “objects in mirror are larger than they appear” message that you always see on passenger side mirrors.
@@TonyTheTruckGuyokay awesome haha - and props to you for the fast reply months after the video was made
@@camerongill5200 Always!
Look I’m a dodge!
Do you have the stock one? Would you like to buy it if it is available
Stock what?
Sorry, stock mirrors. I saw your post on the upgrade, and I'm looking for the stock ones
Mirrors for 04 Duramax
@@99bcamacho I do have the old ones I took off but You'd be better off buying cheap new ones because these are pretty beat.
I like the stock retractable. I've not been able to find new ones. That retract and extend for towing electronically. Mine gave out, so I'm trying to find stock ones that work
