Hi Fabio, I would like to know more about that. Do the information in the first 2 minutes have no value? Or is it widely common and don't like to spend time listing to it again?
@@OmaGhomrawi Hi Oma, the initial information is somehow important but I'd suggest making it shorter. Probably a 15-20s greeting start, with the prices written on the video + 10s of commenting the scratch resistance (after the image quality review) would be just fine and you would make the video 1:50 shorter. That aside, great review!
@@OmaGhomrawi some people know all the info they just come to see what they are looking for, some dont so they need to watch from top, keep including all the info and add time stamp to help viewers navigate
So both have really closer performance but the Zeiss one has metal body more prone to scratches, heavier but slightly sharper, the other plastic, no scratch issue, lighter. Final decision as I understand from the comments and video, we pay a handful of difference for the label, nothing else. It’s not like a legendary Zeiss lens but just Sony asked Zeiss guys “is it ok to slap your logo in this one, cause it’s metal and looks fancier?”. Thanks you all seriously.
Don't forget that 28mm minimum is not as usable as 24mm. That's a deal-breaker for many who just want to have one lens on the end of their camera most of the time.
And the zeiss is f4 all time , while kit lens goes up to 5,6 when zooming. Got one with my camera as kit (hence the name 😊) but changed with the zeiss because it changes a lot , zeiss you only need to go to 5,6 and it’s sharp on entire image while the kit lens needs to go up to 8 to be a bit sharper.
Hey, I really appreciate the review and your honesty! I'm on a serious budget so for now, I think I'll keep the kit lens and stick it at f/8 permanently. xD Maybe I'll end up investing in the FE 16-35 for landscapes. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this.
I make many lens reviews here on channel. I made this video before Tamron released 28-75mm I tried Tamron lens and it’s superior much sharper than these two
I totally agree, Zeiss and some Sony metal lenses can easily be scratched. it doesn't take much. That's one reason I prefer Sigma lenses, plus rubber focus rings grips are superior.
Indeed, it is the case among prime lenses. Zeiss primes are over expensive for no reason. Zeiss zoom lenses price is reasonable. And If you want to pick a lens from these 2 in the video. Simply: DO NOT. get a Tamrom 28-75 f2.8 for the same price as Zeiss 27-70 f4
I use the samyang 24mm f2.8 for that focal length to and it's £200 on eBay lol, much sharper than the ziess, I sent my ziess back and kept my kit lens and got the samyang 24mm that's got great auto focus, ziess 16-35 is a nice lens that I use for wide angle, but it's pricey lol
@@OmaGhomrawi I was thinking the same thing, because when you showed the 28-70 kit lens night flash photos, I thought "Yup, that's exactly what I'd expect from a shoe-mount flash fired directly at someone at night". The flash size and direction has a lot more to do with the quality of the photos than the lens, and I'm really curious to see these two lenses tested with the same flash situations.
@@majorredbeard Believe me, other lenses perform much much better when using on-camera flash. I use on-camera flash when covering events, some of them are in very low light venues.. never seen a bad quality like to 28-75mm
Another great comparison video man. Keep it coming! I know it's an old video but did you experience much difference in OSS quality? These are pretty much the only standard zoom lens with OSS so that would have been interesting.
Don’t believe the hype... no one will care what lens you shoot with nor what camera you used. It’s only us so called photographers fuss too much about gears. Any cameras will give you great photos and it is proven. I can prove you the kit lens is great even with the Grand daddy of Sony mirrorless the Sony a7. I still have this kit and until now they still take great pictures. Professionally.
Hey bro, Don't get Zeiss 24-70 f4 I made this video a long time ago before Tamron releasing 28-75mm f2.8 Tamron is much sharper and solid. I sold my Zeiss lens a long time ago.
I had the 28-70 for a short time but returned it because of bad border and corner sharpens :( Quality degradation was so obvious when you get to the image borders.
The 24-70 is better, but it isn't GM levels better. Some people call it the KITLENS you would WANT to have on a full frame camera. The 28-70 works but the 24-70 is where it really begins. That and the added OSS means that the first bodies now also have it.
Thanks for the review man. Great one. And informative for us in making a decision. Just an advice man, you really need to calibrate the sound level. the music was super loud and the voice is so low afterwards.
Slick production...that's where the positives end. Your conclusions are biased and misleading. The Zeiss is only marginally better...at best and the lenses have virtually the same image quality. There's also little to be gained with an f4 constant lens versus one with a range of f3.5-5.6. The Zeiss is a lackluster performer for the $. Stick with the kit lens.
I read the comments and am surprised. People justify their choice in favor of a kit lens by the fact that the price is very high compared to a kit lens, and the difference in image quality is small. First, the difference between kit and Zeiss is immediately noticeable. Yes, the difference in price is greater than in the quality of the picture, but what to say then about Sony's G series. Are these lenses (G series) useless and not worth the money either?
Thank you for passing by. I would like to mention that this video was made before the release of tamron 28-75mm f2.8 which I highly recommend instead of these lenses. GD LUCK
I don't understand why you added a photo with the flash to say the fe 28-70 is bad and not provided a shot w/ the 24-70 to support your argument. I suggest you need work on how to shoot with a flash instead. And I"m pretty sure a few sites show the fe 28-70 has better sharpness than the zeiss, at least in center, that is, when using the same ISO. This is a very flawed comparison but I appreciate the effort.
I'm surprised more than you on how the kit lens renders images with flash. That's my results.. I ended up selling both lenses anyway Well, I know how to use flash. You should check up my website :) Thank you for passing by.
I was thinking about getting the Zeiss because the Kit- Lens is bad. Especially the (edge-) sharpness is one of the biggest flaws. Looking now for the 24-105 G ^^
