Amós forages for mushrooms on the Coast of Oregon. He ends up foraging some Amanita Muscaria, a poisonous mushroom.

Hiking and hunting the hills and volcanoes of Central America in the 80’s and 90’s gave Amós Rodriguez a foundation for his ancestral skills life’s practice. Growing up in the context of the U.S. financed civil war in El Salvador increased his urban and wilderness survival and awareness skills; both of which are essential for striving in our modern society.
During the post-war period, Amós assisted rural communities devastated by the violence. These experiences increased his humanism and highlighted the need to be an advocate for secured and regenerative communities.
Amós has been perfecting his craft as a hunter and primitive skills practitioner over the years. He is a humanist, an artist, and a guide. His life intention is to build a better future for the next seven generations.

The Vikings used to eat this mushroom to go "bärsärk" ("bear shirt" if translated) in battles. A wine brewed from this mushroom was also consumed before sleep to have "true dreams". The precious ft. Stevens, one of my homes on earth. It is very generous in many types of fungi and one of my favorite places to find Muscaria. Don't fear the Muscaria but pick it with love and appreciation. It's very sensitive but when picked properly it will prevent it from turning itself more poisonous (it's self defense when feeling threatened). I have eaten large quantities of fresh over many years. Sometimes it's too much and that's the end of the day, other times when picked right with some vitamin c, magnesium and mik thistle to go along with it has been some of the most magical energizing and uplifting days of my life. It took me out of Lyme disease coma/fatigue nightmare and gave me some what of a normal life back. Great as an addition(cooked etc) to food as well. Just make sure if eating it like a chanterelle you'd cook it heavy just like you would a chanterelle or lobster if you don't want any of the inebriation effects this gift to humanity might spring on you.

Love the taste of this mushroom, you can do a full conversion (adjusting for the moles) of the ibotenic acid present into muscamol, heating it for over 140 mins at 100 degrees C and in a solution of water at the pH of 7.4 then you end up with a full conversion instead of partial.
You can just boil the mushroom though and throw the water away if you wanna eat it, so delicious, I also love the effects personally but most people seem too hate the mushroom.

Just a note, since you mention using this for a survival situation: That water you dumped out of the pot contained enough muscaline in it to give you crackhead energy for 6 hours.
Well, most likely, it loses potency if it gets TOO hot.
Having that tea in a survival situation could be a very useful tool.
