    Once I seen the title I was hooked on watching this video. I'm still using my first baitcast reel pfluger I got 6 years ago. I'm not looking to spend more than $150 on a reel but you only ended up covering the top line ones that most of us can not afford. I was hoping for a $60-$150 type of video

      Understandable. I did a part two to this video where I go over the bb1 and LFS Lew’s reels. Including the $140 tournament mp and the $99 speed spool. With Lew’s, you don’t need to spend a lot of money to get a quality reel and I detail it in that video.

    You said why they were good, and put cons in the description. On the last reel, why is the con the braking system? What makes a braking system good?

    • @PrestigeWorldwideFishing
      @PrestigeWorldwideFishing  3 года назад

      Compared to the other high end SLP reels I listed, this braking system isn’t as good... not necessarily bad. I probably need to do a video explaining what makes one braking system better than another.
      The ACB is just going to be a smoother break because of how it applies pressure to the spool. The MSB is more rigged but better than MCS because of the internal brake shoe adjustments.

    Awesome breakdown. Love the info on the screen while you talk! Where does the “Lew's Custom Pro SLP Casting Reel” fit in this group? I’m so confused by all the names.

    • @PrestigeWorldwideFishing
      @PrestigeWorldwideFishing  Год назад

      Thanks! Yeah I know! Lots of names. The custom pro is very similar to all of these. The main difference in any of the reels is the braking system. Higher price, better brakes. This one has a little better palm side side plate but overall very similar to custom slp. And basically weight puts it at a lower price point than the hypermag.
      Hope that helps! Please feel free to email me if you need more detail on anything.

I got a bass pro signature carbon lite 2.0 now and its alright but my other baitcaster I use it garbage and I like to have two rather than cut and re tie constantly as I usually just leave on with a frog or topwater.

    • @PrestigeWorldwideFishing

      I would recommend the $99 speed spool over any of the Mach’s. Or if you want to spend a little more get the tournament mp at $139. Both aluminum frames so won’t torque on you. Especially if you are frog fishing, a graphite reel will break in a hurry. Great videos on comparing the options. Is there a Lew's reel baitcaster that is considered better for skipping?

    • @PrestigeWorldwideFishing
      @PrestigeWorldwideFishing  4 года назад +2

      Actually Lew’s just announced the Pro SP (skipping and pitching) reel. It has a shallow spool that only holds a little bit of line to help with backlashes, which are common when skipping docks. If you can’t wait for that, I would recommend any of their SLP reels because of the narrow spools. That helps a lot with line management when skipping.

    I've been eying the pro ti for a while. I have a daiwa tatula 103 that I also love. But I was thinking to get the pro ti to replace it. Typically I cast lures from 6g and up. I was wondering if you would happen to know how well the Pro ti would cast this weight? Thanks!

    • @PrestigeWorldwideFishing
      @PrestigeWorldwideFishing  3 года назад +1

      That is pretty light. The reel would struggle a little with lures that light because the line rating is at 12 lbs. Mostly though it will depend on your rod. The right rod can make a huge difference on how a reel performs with light lures. Pair the Pro-ti with medium moderate rod and 10 lb line and you shouldn’t have any problems with light lures

      The Lew’s Classic Pro SLP is fairly light at 7 ounces for only $60. The Mach Smash is also light but is $100. The rod will also be important in getting the right feel and not being to heavy. Most of the Lew’s rods and I assume any company that has released a newer rod should be light, because of all the new technology. Good luck!

    • @PrestigeWorldwideFishing
      @PrestigeWorldwideFishing  4 года назад

      That reel will do it. It is a smooth reel and it would be perfect for light baits. Your rod is actually going to be more important when throwing weightless baits. Stick with medium power, fast action rods. If you go too light you are better off switching to spinning gear

    • @PrestigeWorldwideFishing
      @PrestigeWorldwideFishing  4 года назад +2

      I’m not super familiar with shimano’s line up, but the higher you go in price typically allows for easier use because of the components you are using. Shimano makes good gear and honestly I think Lew’s gives you more for the price. I had a friend convert to Lew’s from Shimano and he said Lew’s are much easier to cast right out of the box. If you want something around that price from Lew’s, I would recommend the Tournament Pro or Custom SLP. Both solid reels. Hope that helps, both companies make great reels. Good luck 👍

      I havent owned a lews, and all of my reels are just different Shimano Curados, but when I got my Curado DC, I was idk... not disappointed, but kind of let down. I love the noise it makes, but I feel that is all I paid for. You can up the brakes, but it drastically lowers casting distance. Maybe it lowers deep backlashes, but that rarely happens for me. So honestly, I wish I spent the money elsewhere, but the noise is cool, and the curado dc is a solid reel. Again not the SLX DC but the Curado to Curado DC 'upgrade' I feel was not worth the money.

      Thanks! I strongly recommend NOT going with a cheap baitcast reel for beginners (under $75). Although with that being said, Lew’s has good baitcasters under $75. I would suggest the Lew’s speed spool LFS for a beginner and really for anyone for that matter. It is an aluminum frame reel, so it will last you a long time and is fairly inexpensive at $100.
