I heard it with different wording;
A man in the wilderness asked me how many red strawberries grow in the sea.
I answered quickly as I thought best,
As many as red herrings grow in a crows nest!

Thank you for listening! It is funny how many variations there are of nursery rhymes. I guess it shows how long and broadly they were shared orally before they were ever written down!
