Interesting. Do the neighbours have any say in what is rebuilt on a plot? Just asking, because in England the neighbours have a say in any planning application because of access or blockage of light reasons. Decades ago, toured the place during a realtor's open house. The sellers had made some strange "improvements". Art Nouveau style-stained glass windows, several places inside the house, being the most jarring. You you guys would never believe what kind of jokester family lives there right now it's literally a man who's a DJ and his wife is a Marilyn Monroe impersonator does her job back to bought the house and who has been living there now for a number of years it's horrible because they're doing a lot of differences to the house it's a lady from Scotland who's her impersonator guy should look it up it's so crazy she thinks she looks like her she dyed her hair to look like her and the weird thing is she really doesn't even look like her she has all these crooked teeth and tries to play a baby voice it's so creepy and she just keeps getting pregnant over and over and over but seriously look it up you all will be shocked
Someone could VRBO it. Restore it and redecorate it first to her 1960s era. Someone has done that with Frank Sinatras Palm Spring's property and it is such fun! It is like stepping back into that cool 1960s era; you step into a time warp. It is very expensive per night but wow how memorable. It is like you expect Frank Sinatra to stroll by the a martini in hand of course, out by the pool. I bet people who pay for that with Marilyn's house. BUT the proper decor is HUGE!
it should definitely be preserved as a museum. though i no longer live in LA, i remember how disappointing it was to discover that almost none of the homes of the dozen or so biggest stars were not bought and preserved by either the studios or the families of the stars. not having preserved the homes of the biggest legends sort of wakes one up to the whole illusionary aspect of hollywood. it's like no one realized how much the fans could appreciate and connect with that last point of contact with actors they so admired from afar. there is something about it which feels like a betrayal as is alluded to in the film the day of the locust. as it turns out it is all as much about business and profits as it is about anything else. being able to see and visit the former homes of deceased hollywood biggest stars is much better than invading the privacy of current stars by taking bus tours which point out their homes while they are still there living in them.. visiting a home which has been preserved as a museum is more appropriate than running into stars in person somewhere and expecting them to fraternize with total strangers though the strangers might consider themselves to be fans.
The families and the studios don't own these homes. Many people owned Marilyn's home after her. She also doesn't have descendants preserving her legacy and her personal items have been sold off.
The Hollywood museum had her bedroom kitchen and living room furniture that they set up like it was at her home. Her clothes, makeup and other possessions were also displayed, absolutely amazing!
One of the homeowners next door to it bought it and they want to tear it down to expand their own home. There's a court case in progress because they can't get the permit and a preservation group is trying to save it.
Her death was and still is a controversial subject. Many odd reports of what actually happened have been gone over and over. After looking into several documents and theories I personally believe that she was murdered. She was known to have kept a diary and it somehow disappeared. She was also threatening to go public about her affairs with the Kennedy’s.
The thing I noticed about Marilyn and Elvis is elvis's room and the top floor was his one place that he had privacy in and asked people to never go upstairs because it was his. And similarly with Marilyn, this house was the one thing that was truly hers, that the whole world didn't get to see. Where she could just be Norma Jean. I can't speak for her but based on that, I think shed be happy if a loving family filled the space and made memories there instead of a museum or a spectical.
Mrs H 🇬🇧 .... Marilyn may have had issues BUT who doesn't struggle in this day & age & way back then ??? She was an extremely talented lady but cos of her life long struggles & her upbringing, Her mother suffering also through mental illness many only love her cos of her beauty yet she was Much, Much more than this...Vulnerable.. Yes....Talented ...HELL YES .... Marilyn wasn't perfect but she was used & abused... Leave her home BE please cos it's all that is left of the Beautiful Legend who left this earth far too soon ...🇬🇧
It should be preserved, because this is where she died. If she would have purchased the home, and then sold it to purchase another home, then the home wouldn't be, so significant. By the way, I love the wrought iron exterior enclosing the casement windows, which not only serves as a security mechanism, it also serves as a plant holder, and safeguard against cracking your head open, if the casement window is open, and you lift your head below the edge of the iron framed of the window.🤯🤕
It doesn't need to be a museum, but preserving it as a home is massively important.

The Mews house is still there .
@@Sharon_Mc that’s wonderful to hear! They should definitely preserve it 😍
Her home was perfect.. I would be very comfortable in that home. It's warm and inviting.
If her original furniture was there, I can see it being Mari-land!! Keep it
With all do respect to Marilyn, it would be much appreciated as a landmark and museum site for people to feel close to the star.
I feel that Marilyn’s house should have historical status. To not only preserve the home itself , but to honour Marilyn’s memory. Her huge contribution to film and culture . Marilyn is a Bona fide icon of our times. It would be so sad to see the current owner tear it down. Hopefully someone who has the means and who truly cares about Marilyn’s legacy . Will keep it going and protected for generations to come . Marilyn was a rare, beautiful woman who deserves to be remembered with reverence . Love her so much . ❤
Whomever owns it can obviously afford a home almost anywhere. Let them buy any other such home and tear it down. Why Monroe's home. Preserve it.
Due to this historic women ,her last home on earth ,Very hard working lady ,got what she wanted ,a home! What an AWESOME investment .RIP Norma Jean.
It should be turned into a museum.
Beautiful home.
Of all the former celebrity homes- this one is the warmest:) she had great taste. It’s still wonderful.
Preserve it. And make it a museum
The house of Monroe shoud be preserved and be a museum, just to show the next generation that Monroe was much more than an actress....
Marylin Monroe will live forever in the people's heart!!! She is unforgetable!!! A French Man ...
I love it. I wish I could move the whole house some where else. If I could I would. ❤
One of the homeowners next door to it bought it and they want to tear it down to expand their own home. There's a court case in progress because they can't get the permit and a preservation group is trying to save it.
Thats so greedy and evil!
RIP Norma Jean ❤❤❤
So beautiful 🤩
She was murdered, she was murdered & she was murdered.
1000% !👍
She overdosed look it up, she was very wreckless with her life
@@cindybrock1705 No ,she was Murdered ,YOU look it up ,do proper research !
@@cindybrock1705she was killed because she was going to spill the beans about her affairs with Robert and John Kennedy. They had her killed.
Yes turn it into a historical museum ❤❤❤❤
They should keep it as a museum in her honour.
Words have power, what she wrote on that tile she manifested unknown unknowingly.
She may have cursed herself
I said the same thing when I heard it!
The house she get landmark status that way no future owner can't ever think of knocking it down.
Safeguard it. It’s a historical monument to honor her as a person. She was an amazing soul. 💜
Happy Birthday Marilyn 🎂 🎉🎉🎉
she didnt pass away there she was murdered there!!! Truth will come out someday
And karma got both of the Kennedys
Such an Iconic... her home should be preserve. RIP Marilyn Monroe
yOU ARE MY HERO!thanks for this video.for wort a bilion emotion.
I, too agree that her home should be reserved as a museum, to allow fans to be elated to be in her home
🇬🇧 Of course , the house should be preserved
Très jolie maison qui respire la paix ☮️avant son départ 🙏
Preserved!!
Preserve imo. I liked her style of elegant modern, it intrigues me more than the slick 60s .
Her home should be Preserved.
Either make it into a museum of her or an Airbnb for those who wants to experience how she lived during that time.
Fantastic production.
