Fair play to you for doing this. I love dartmoor.
I had the UL80 and it leaked at the seams. They sent me a replacement after having to send them a video of the leak in a bath of water. The second one leaked again so I ended up biting the bullet and got the Thermarest neoair xlite. Expensive, but having a warm and comfortable nights kip is imperative. Good work 👏

      Thanks Johnny !
Think I will take a different route next time and go a bit slower ( not that it was rushed anyway) to take in more of the Moor.
Yep think I'm going to have to replace the UL80 now, but the money for the neoair just seems over the top to me ! Maybe I'll put on my Xmas list to Santa !
      Cheers for watching !!

Great to see pt2 and you completing it. So convenient being able to use Okehampton and Ivybridge stations for a N to S. I walked almost the same route last autumn. There were parts I found really tough mentally (including walking from Ryders to Puppers across the bog as it was getting dimpsey) but am hoping to do it again soon. Looks like you coped admirably. With that route, you're committed to covering the stretch around Postbridge in one go to get back into the camping zone so may try via Fur Tor and Gt Mis next time. ATB, John.

Thanks John ! Yeah it was pretty boggy from Ryders and garmin (and me) lost the track ! Yes that stretch trying to get into the south camping zone was a killer ! Took a wrong turn after the big stepping stones and struggled to get back on track to be honest !

@@FiftyandNifty LOL. I did think where's he going. The route to Dartmeet to then up to Combestone Tor is confusing and a bit of an uphill slog anyway. 😅

@@Jarbie Ah well.......that will be to do with how I plotted my route. Started plotting on garmin app all the bits I wanted to visit ( from 365 book points of interest etc) but that just got too complicated.......so I used the app to randomly plot from start to finish and just followed that ! In hind sight not my best decision of the year !

@@FiftyandNifty I've done the same myself. Looks good on Outdoor Active but then the reality isn't quite as straightforward. Still, it's all part of the fun exploring. :)

great hike, well done! i eally love this route, try and do it at least once a year now, that mid section is tricky, past sittaford tor, you have to decide which way you gonna go, risk that you can cross the dart, or head down to postbridge, the latter, leading you to dartmeet and ryders hill , best route off ryders hill IMO is due south, head down the ridge to huntington warren, you can then just drop down to the clapper bridge, paths on dartmoor tend to be more of a not as boggy as that other bit most of the time, wot makes it such a challenge..very good hike..congrats!

Yeah got off route a couple times and was a bit sloshy but not too bad to be fair. Will spend a bit more time on plotting a better route next time !
      Cheers !
