I am a Christian and have always chosen to dress modestly. For me that means the shortest skirt or shorts I wear are knee length, I wear shirts that are long, have sleeves, and don't have low necklines. I also try to wear clothing that is not super tight. This is a choice I have maid and it gives me so much confidence and is so comfortable. I never once felt like I was missing out or like I was unattractive because of what I wear. Modest fashion is the best!
I'm Muslim so I dress the same as the woman with her own fashion line. I did not always do that though. I have to say the day I chose to cover my body (my hair came later) was the most liberating day of my life. For the first time since I was in my middle teens I felt like more of a person and less of an object to look at. It is so empowering, but is still often seen as a form of oppression. Sadly, I have to add I had no Muslim people in my life to push me to do so. in fact, I had never met another Muslim in person until long after I became Muslim and covered myself.

And I just think about gross religious conservative men clapping at modesty. I just wanna piss them off. It’s sad how many women think the same way as conservative men, judging and blaming women. It’s disgusting. Wear what you want, there is no shame in “immodest” clothing. Tbh I just hate the word modest because to many people it doesn’t just describe clothing but some sort of statement in one’s “character”, which is just gross.
Many women are conservative and we don’t do it for men. If you don’t think that’s the case then I hope you also think that liberal women are liberal because they want to please liberal men. Don’t be a hypocrite, have a consistent logic. If you’re so in favor of women doing what they want then let women be modest and let us be grossed out by women that objectify themselves. Your comment is extremely judgemental and it’s funny because you’re the same kind of person accusing everyone of doing what you are also doing.
With or without the “book” you can practice modesty regardless. It’s not dictating your life if you see the value in it and are consciously choosing it
Let’s remembered the “Class” woman of the 50 and 60’s had. You see it in the older movies of the actresses from the era called the “Golden age”. The “Sexy” look, since then, has been taken too far! Sexy was meant for the bedroom, or a date night with your husband. Come on ladies, let’s get some class back in our lives, and leave men wondering what’s underneath. Instead of letting it all hang out for everyone to see.
When women and gay men dominate the fashion industry we end up with hooker fashion. That’s really what it comes down to. If you look at the beautiful and modest fashion of the past, it was mostly designed by men. Women sewed, yes, but it was men who created the newest styles of fashion and the styles were beautiful and they honored women’s bodies. Now feminism has gotten women convinced that getting naked is empowering. What a sad world.
So sorry you have to be covered to feel secure. Why don’t men cover themselves to feel secure! Dress however u want just stop promoting it. Young beautiful Iranian girls are being killed, prisoned because of hejab. Here is an idea, Why don’t you make a documentary about those girls so you can present both sides and establish credibility as a non biased reporter.
These girls are expressing their womanhood how they want. That’s particularly what feminism is about. This comment is condensing and tone deaf. This isn’t about men and what they want women to do. We know more than enough about women who are forced to wear hijabs, this is about the women who aren’t. Traditional women who want to actually be traditional don’t need “tolerant” people talking down to them over a lifestyle they choose to live because it makes them uncomfortable. They dress incredible beautiful..because it's about different things an why...an just been you..God bless them. With all respect I hope to dress them like them
@yaraviera, you can! Modesty is beautiful and a way of life. Join the Modesty community.
Where's the men's modest fashion?
Modesty is triggering as they are rules set out by men due their behavior and responses. Another mean for controlling women.
Modesty is empowering to women, as opposed to showing your whole body to men, because surely men hate that 🤦♀️
@@adriana12995 historically, enforced modesty is a result of wife's being viewed as property, property that needs to be secured like any other.
In the Qur'an, it doesn't say to wear hijab, it says to dress modestly and that goes for both men and women.
@@dairyqueue one thing is enforced modesty, I don’t think anyone should be forced to wear anything. My point is that the feminist idea that being essentially naked is somehow better is pretty dumb. Now we have women being sexualized and objectified while at the same time they complain about it. Yes, men hate seeing women’s bodies… we sure got the patriarchy! 🤣
You can’t have it both ways. Modesty has a purpose and it is good.
@@ancientfern2693 I do like seeing my guy wearing some thin gray sweat pants though 😆
I never knew about the concept of modesty. Then again, I was trolling to some guy from iran (via random voice chat) and he was talking about how he respects women by letting them wear this kind of clothing, keeping themselves covered. I mean i let women choose to wear what they like, usually men would get paranoid when their gf is dressing all hot out in public 😂
I respect women by not judging them for what they wear
I straight went to watching Ex-Muslims channel from here 😅😅😅 whata relief 😅
What do you mean
The covered hair prevents a jinn from falling in love with the girl, thus prevents possession. This is the inside doctrine of fear. All religion has an inside doctrine of fear. Hair is not immodest, cleavage can be.
I'm not sure where you got your information from, but sadly you are misinformed

Personally i qish more people would cover up. The over sexualization of everyone all the time is pretty repulsive.
Thank god

@@chippewaguy4193 i never said anything about such a combo being "scant." What I did however say was a comment based off of my observations to the multiple passionate comments that this guy has made and had chosen the word "scant" in an attempt to be more eloquent in my wording so that I could avoid typing what's considered "long for a youtube comment." I guess it was rather stupid of me to do so for not anticipating a miscommunication. I Wear Middle Eastern Dress, like My Them Neal Here,
Muhammad Ali once asked his daughters who were dressed very risqué at a visit, he said to them 'everything precious and valuable the lord made he covered, diamonds, pearls, rubies, emerald, gold, etc are you not more precious than these things?!
It’s not modesty. Its part of their theocratic lifestyles.
I love Victorian and Edwardian fashion so modest clothing is my jam.
Why are men not kept to the same standard?...😮

I just associate it with judgmental religious conservatives, and often they are, but not everyone who wears “modest” clothing is.
I wear modest clothing because it makes me comfortable. 😮
You when I wear my long sleeved dress and heels because I felt cute: 😭😭😡😡😡😡😤😤😤
No!!
If it makes you feel beautiful, do it!
No it’s not, your just to deep in your own circle/community to see people want to show their body to the world not hide them away
And they want you to have that choice, not have someone choose for you.

No? Most women’s fashion is designed by women. And this style is very specific. You think women can’t dress themselves or something?
@@kstar1489 love the use of rhetoric
Comments like this are why these videos exist. These women are fine, and I’m sure they’re tired of convincing people who treat them like babies and undermine their opinions like the oppressive men they hate so much that they are.
@@BrocksJellyFilledDoughnuts so u know “ more than enough” about women who are forced to wear hejab! A condescending response to divert the conversation and explain away your definition of feminism! No surprise here.

Modest female professional boxer is an oxymoron as well as modest fashion.
Why?
@@juliamichelle6212 there is no religious morality in punching someone in the face for sport. It maybe ok as an exercise or useful skill but definitely not for gain or spectator sport related to gambling. And certainly not for a woman encouraging violence and aggressive attitude in opposed to temperance. Plus fashion as defined in this regard means trends, what’s in vogue or popular which is never about modesty even if a “modest” garment was the fad. Therefore it’s contrary by definition.
Modesty isnt mortality. Morality doesnt have to do with any sort of physical appearance. To me looking religious is the issue, a lot of ppl want freedom from religion. In America Christians use religion to define morality.
No thanks. I don't want to look like a bee keeper

Hijabs are not " fashoin" it has to do with a religion.

I’m still completely dumbfounded when I see a chubby woman wearing a crop top with short, shorts.🫣 I’m not trying to shame anyone but I’m in good shape and would probably look good wearing those sort of things. So you’re saying that overweight women must be modest to cover their bodies but thin women can show as much skin as they want? Modesty has nothing to do with weight.
