- This video covers some things to know if you plan to buy a KFX50 for you’re kids Atv. The KFX90 would be very similar to this unit. If your looking for something much smaller I would recommend the Suzuki LTZ 50 or an earlier KFX50 that was 2 stroke.

Thanks for vid... bought a used 2021 kfx50 for my Grandson and I couldn't find the damn seat release, Thanks!!! Now I can throw a battery tender on it for the winter. My Grandson is 3 and loves it... had to ziptie 4x4s to floorboards so he could reach. I chase him around with my quad incase he attempts something stupid.
I have his throttle cut way back till the clutch grabs and no more.... Thanks again for posting this

Would you suggest a throttle limiter on the kfx50 for smaller kids? Also you should do a video on that ttr50. Is it easy for smaller kids to handle?
The Atv comes with a screw at the thumb throttle housing, if you tighten it the throttle is limited. There is a TTR 50 video in the works!
Just got one for my daughter, a 2007 kfx 50. It will start and idle fine. If you touch the throttle cable up on the handle bar where the nuts are, it will start to die and can die. If you push the thumb throttle, it dies. Any ides? Does it need a throttle cable?
I went through a bunch of issues similar to that when I was fixing this one. I don’t think the throttle cable is your issue though. I replaced the jet starter on it and made it run a little better but the biggest issue I ended up having was water in the fuel. After finding some in the float bowl I cleaned out the fuel tank and put new gas in it. After that I didn’t have another issue.
@@TheATVHustle thank you! I just picked it up this morning and the guy that had it of course said it ran good. So after an hour drive up there I got it anyways. Figured I could try and fix it. Not a bad deal at $500, I think.
@@TexasRedneck if it sounds healthy $500 is bad. I would just start with rebuilding the carb and cleaning out the tank. I bet that does the trick.
@@TheATVHustleI replaced the carb with a Chinese one, and then had to adjust it a tiny bit. Got it running great. Let it sit a week or so and now the starter spins and seems like the bendix isn’t engaging the fly wheel. If that even happens on these. Gonna take a closer look once this cold weather passes by haha. Gonna try and kick start it and see if it works.
Are the switches on the brake levers on these only for the tail light or are they also safety switches? I bought one and it’s not getting fire. Changed cdi, coil, handlebar switch, key switch etc. and still nothing. I know some of the little china atv’s have them. These are made by Kymco. The Kymco mongoose 50/90, arctic cat 50/90 , and Kawasaki kfx 50/90 are all basically the same ATV. I have the arctic cat 50 and kfx 90 and neither are firing at all. Much help would be appreciated. I have worked on atv’s for many years as well. I’m just not as familiar with these. Thank you
I don’t remember on this one, it’s been an over a year since I messed with it but some do require the brake switch to work on the smaller quads.

15 mph roughly with me and closer to 20 with my 50 lb kid on it.
Can you charge the battery on it ?
Yes, It is under the seat. There are some around $20 on amazon but they are only good for 6-8 months.
Where is the starter located..
If you look from the left side under the seat it's kind of tucked behind the carb, its a little bit of a pain to get but with a long 5 or 6mm Allen key it's not too bad to pull. ITs a little starter.
