- Dean Park Railway modelling sees a new product this month. I take a look at the new model railway product for Accurascale, the KUA Nuclear Flask Carrier. Have you added these to your model railway? what are youe thoughts on these new OO gauge wagons?
There is plenty of on track action too, as I put these through a product test, as well as other rail transport on the layout. If you enjoy Rail transport modelling you'll like this!
Check out the links below for some great products, as used at Dean Park Model Railway.

Many thanks for an excellent review. Mine arrive next week direct from Accurascale ( Ireland).
Hi Dave, this is the first review of the KUAs I have seen and I received mine from Faxley on Wednesday. As a DRS fleet fan I had to get a set of these Nuclear wagons for myself to enjoy. Like you pointed out, the detail is excellent with the printing and small added finery parts. I did notice the lever below the centre walkway was in a different paint colour and I take it this is as per prototype. The weight of the duo did take me by surprise as they are heavy little beasties straight from the box. The articulated three point bogies are well designed for various point work which you provided in shown in this video log. I must recommend you for your superb track laying to get through the turnouts with ease. Accurascale yet again, have provided a gem of a wagon for the RTR modeller to have on their layouts. The older main stay manufactures have a massive competitor at their heels that can easily steel their thunder if they don't up their game on the railway market. As we have seen from past Accurascale with the PFAs, Cement, and although very fragile JSA Steel Coil Carriers how much the company is willing to put into their products. It is a pleasure to get your Dean Park notifications about stock, updates and reviews to watch and long may it continue (no favourite basis's intended, just a good honest comment to a great fellow railway modeller).
Great review Dave and the detail is certainly impressive. Interesting facts about them too. I have a couple of DRS 37’s so you have given me a few ideas! All the best, Paul 👍
This is really my favourite Channel!
Thanks for your nice Videos,
it is very enlightening,
Waiting for your latest update.
Dean Park

Fantastic Video Dave Thanks Regards Dave
Cool review, mine are on order.
Mine are on route , can’t wait to arrive amazing bit of kit . As always from accurascale
Did you pre order or order after seeing them?
@@DeanPark I didn’t hVe them pre ordered.... but as soon as I saw them I had to get them. Awesome bit of kit
Great! I hope my video was of help to you. I was certainly amazed by the quality of them.Accurascale are leading the quality stakes, they are right up there with Bachmann’s fit and finish too. We’re being spoilt by these guys
@@DeanPark mine have arrived today , even more impressive in real life
you gave them flasks a tuff test reversing through a crossing at highish speed, think it says alot for the quality of your track laying as well Andy
Well I suppose that might be a factor lol.
Nice dave I'm awaiting my order for the Hya cut down cemex wagons
Hi Dave another great video mate I really enjoyed it every interesting a every nice wagons I have ordered 5 of the cavalex BBA sheel coil wagons today after seeing your video on them mate I am looking forward to see them in September to go with my Bachmann BAA sheel coil wagons thanks for the video on the cavalex BBA mate goodbye for now clive in N.lreland
That is a very nice model with lots of fine detail.
And very well put together :-)
Got mine Thursday they are amazing. Next for me are the mk5s and 3 class 37s👍
Wow, what a stunning effort from Accurascale on those flask wagons. The level of detail and finish is truly superb. As already commented below, they are rapidly becoming a very major player in model railways, and are setting standards that hopefully other manufacturers will look to emulate.
Cheers Kevin. Yeah they are releasing some stunning stuff!
Not only those kua wagons that has stunning detail from what I can see all of their locos wagons and coach packs looks really impressive with amount of detail I ordered up the HYA cemex wagons and going to order up the mark 5 coach pack in TPE livery to go with the TPE class 68 I got
They and cavalex models are putting both Hornby and Bachmann to absolute shame Hornby are an absolute disgrace right now so I wouldn't think that Hornby would be too much of a threat to accurascale at present they have fallen back to the bad times again with over pricing again
They are very nice Dave
They’re really impressive bits of kit! I love mine. They impress standing still and on the move.
Cracking update Dave i have to get myself those accurascale KUA Nuclear flask carrier wagons they really are the Rolls Royce of model railway wagons. also i love the factory you have made top job mate.- Nicholas.
Great wagons Dave. Oh dear it looks like I’m going to have to trouble the overdraft again! My Dad used to work on the Polaris submarines at Rosyth so these wagons are a bit of a no brainier for me, especially since I’ve seen your review.
Those are great looking wagons from accurascale they are defiantly becoming a major player when it comes to OO gauge models.
Indeed they are. Just waiting for their first loco now! Not long now :-)
Absolutely David they are wouldn't surprise me if both Bachmann and Hornby go bye bye and we see hattons accurascale cavalex models been the major players in the 00 and 0 gauge market
I've just bought a set this morning and sold a a Bachmann class 70 COLAS RAIL that I don't use anymore so that made my day they look great can't wait to see them here next week cheers Paul
I don’t think you’ll be disappointed :-)
Goodman Paul at least you got some of your funds back from the Bachmann 70
@@DeanPark I can't wait and I've just bought the mk2 coaches in drs the Hornby ones we'll my wife has for fathers day lol cheers Paul
@@irishsixtysixfanGbrf66739 yeah couldn't believe how much they have gone up in price wow but I still have one left but am keeping that for myself lol
@@DeanPark hi dave how long did it take for yours to be delivered??
Dear Sir,
This indeed was an incredible testing. Not for the wagons though, but for your awe inspiring track work! Beautifully laid!
Cheers from Brazil!
It’s really an impressive model and one I would buy “nae bother” as they say in your neck of the woods 🍻
Lol, aye you’re right there! ;-)
I must confess I used to ready The Broons when I was a wee lad Scotland is very close to my heart I have cousins aunts and uncles If I were a sportsman I’d choose Scotland over England all day long!
I remember a review, possibly in the Hornby magazine, that the containers opened either manually or by dcc. Was this implemented? Cheers for the review. They do look amazing.
That was a different model proposed but then cancelled by KR Models.
@@franburke Thanks, shame about that.
Hi Dave nice looking models packed with lots of detail and runs well. I had issues with Accurascale's JSA wagons, the first set looked like an Airfix kit the replacement was better but still had a couple of handrails and locking hooks loose in box (well packaged just perhaps too many fine detail parts to go through the post).
Hi, oh dear. I’ve not bought any JSA. They look good though, but I have to draw the line somewhere, it’s not a cheap hobby is it?! :-)
They look great, and dare I say it, worth the price. However, they're a bit too niche by the combination of limited haulage availability and area of operation for me. Plus, I'd prefer to spend the money on other stuff I've preordered (including 2 accurascale deltics), save for a hornby GWR 800008 trainbow, and save for some of the accurascale biomass hoppers (the most frequent freight working on my local line). And also fund the expansion of my 0 gauge garden railway, which has come a long way in the last fortnight.
Yes £160 is not cheap, but I believe at £75 each they are better value for money than a hornby railroad locomotive, or dare I say it.... a Hornby mk3 DVT at the same price!
Cheers
Dave
Minimum radius?
2nd radius
i got mine last week, they are yet another set of dogs danglies from the Accy team
Nicely put :-)
"DEvonport", not "DAvenport"!
My mistake! I need to write these things down before I say them! :-) I trust it didn’t ruin your viewing.
Wish these came in a non buffer version. They would look nice on a US Military train.
The buffers could be easily removed... the bugger shanks are lightly glued to the chassis. A bit of work and they could be what you’re after.
Great video except for the last bit of music. Wayyyyyyy to loud!
Yes I agree, and that was me trying to turn it down in the edit! 🤔
I know it’s not your fault but 7 ads In 11 minutes.
Aye that’s not good. I’ll see if I can change the settings tomorrow... getting fed up with the number of ads automatically dumped in videos.
I wasn’t getting on to you, it’s RUclips they ruin everything With ads even in the middle of a song.
I’ve watched all your videos some even twice over. Keep up the great work.
