- I finally made the leap and bought the Red Komodo! It feels good, scary, and undeserving all at the same time. In this video I go into why I bought it and why it was time for me to upgrade and if spending the money on it was worth it and the correct move. Enjoy.

You will love the Red. Had mine since launch. Absolutely love my Red. That said, lighting is probably the most important factor in creating a compelling look.

Thanks for the vid! There are lots of komodo videos online but i havnt found any that show the best way to attach a shotgun mic to the commodo. Any tips on this would be helpful!

The standing desk is a knock off brand I found on Amazon and the monitor stand is a bamboo stand I found on Amazon haha hope that helps😅 maybe I’ll do a desk tour video?

does that battery plate gives you unapproved battery warning?
It does… there’s not many batteries and plates out there that don’t give that warning except red batteries themselves. The Red approved list doesn’t mean they’re readable by the camera (battery life etc) it’s just that they fit and work with it lol

It’s definitely a large, heavy, cinema camera (compared to let’s say an fx3) so you have to work a bit harder and plan time to get certain shots but man the image quality is amazing, it’s a nice form factor for a cinema camera and I absolutely recommend it for people who have a need for a camera like that.

How did you get the Atmos Shinobi for $499? It's listed everywhere right now at $699. This video came out only a few days ago!
I got super lucky and it was on sale for like a week! Just set alerts for it so you don’t miss it!
Use it in school production. It’s a very high quality camera and probably the best low budget cinematic camera you can get.
I totally agree! So far, best camera I’ve used for that price.
First thing I would suggest swapping out is that smallrig cage. It's notorious for the top plate breaking off when using a top handle to carry it around.
