    I also replicated exactly what you did for my F150 2019 and it worked perfectly. I put some hot glue in the holes just to make sure no water could get in! Thank you sir!

    2017 F150 with seized wiper transmission. I followed your video instructions and managed to remove the entire assembly and drilled a few holes in the transmission casting. Inserted some good penetrating oil/lubrication from Seafoam. Heated the casting with a propane torch and added more penetrating oil and it finally released completely. Reassembled and followed your alignment instructions. Great video, great instructions !! Phillip, you're The Man !! Thank You so much !!👍

    The wiper issue should be a safety recall. This happened to me today just randomly. Thankfully it stopped raining but this is just ridiculous. Never have i had a vehicle where the wipers just "stopped working" especially without warning.

      It's common across all manufacturers. I've seen Ford, GM,Dodge ,VW Mercedes not much you can do about it unless you move to a warmer climate where they don't use road salt...

      @@PhillipBailey nah dude my 96 F150 still has fully functioning wipers. Ford messed up on these wipers. Road salt is irrelevant. It's just a shit design.

    Auto shop quoted me $600, said I needed new transmission and motor. You’re a life safer man, this worked perfectly. Appreciate the help!

    I own a 2015 F-150 .... bought it new ... same problems ... plus a door lock issues which was addressed when it was still under warrenty... the wipers have done this twice now... there are other issues with the cruse control too...

    Thanks! Worked like a charm. Only thing i did different was i drilled holes the proper size to accommodate short bolts with a rubber washer to plug the holes.

    If it's a Coyote, check the coolant tube near the intake on the left side of the motor...make sure there's no coolant in the valley below the intake. Check everything going to the heater core. Starter failure can be caused by coolant ingress.
    If it's the starter I'm thinking of, have fun with finding the right combinations of extensions to get that hidden bolt. Dropping the exhaust would make it easier, but that may be a rabbit hole you may not want to go down. I'm sure it's not your first rodeo...some of the previous F-series had a similar setup.
    I regret reinstalling the 3rd bolt on mine...should have omitted it the first time I did a starter.

    This was very helpful, but what I did was instal grease zeros in the holes I drilled and added artic grease to it when I had it freed up.

    I got mine unseized by soaking it in transmission fluid for a little bit, then wiped it off, torched it but kept flame away from plastic piece on the pivot and it let out so much rust dust shit, reinstalled, works like brand new

    Amazing... wiper is exactly my issue on 2018. 130K. Never seen this b4. Unreal cheap. Sunroof is also cheap roof doesnt open anymore. Pieces broken cant replace. Need whole new unit. $2Gs. What a sad thing. Never seen this in any other of my vehicles.

    How long you think this would take your average guy?

    • @PhillipBailey
      @PhillipBailey  7 месяцев назад +1

      About an hour to remove and reinstall the wiper transmission assembly and probably another half hour to free it up but depends on how bad it's seized.
