I didn't know GAP is considered classy either. I used to wear a lot of GAP as a kid, and they were baggy and just normal..

It's just that gap being an american brand would cost more than an indian manufactured clothes considering the conversion rates. And a huge portion of india which is the middle class people might choose the cheaper alternative.

We used to consider English as higher class but these days things r changing in India pretty drastically like nowadays people have accepted and started to appreciate our own regional languages.......

About being wealth, as Jaby mentioned that we have to cross some threshold of earning money. After that threshold certain amount of money and lifestyle be normal to you. So you just keep push to that threshold, after that things automatically fall in places. Even hanging out with certain level rich people on regular basis will make you upgrade automatically, like 70% you are almost there.

Jaby, you should decrease playback speed, it wouldn’t lessen any enjoyment for all of us. You can try that for this type of video
The video is synced up i think, so jaby and syntell laughs are synced, but since there is a tiny bit of lag, so the conversations now sound like syntell is cutting off jaby's sentences. so the conversations can be placed without the laugh sync. but it's more work for the editor.

3 years back 20,000 was considered way more expensive for a jeans, even now it is , but people can afford it now a days.
Yeh it is more affordable but I still won't buy jeans which cost 20k. I still think twice about buying 3-4k worth jeans. I would buy earphones/headphone or a mobile for that cost

All Indians can speak in English, but most of us don't speak in English at home, we speak in English outside, at work, school, college, parties etc. Here in India, usually, only posh, rich people speak in English at home.

I have a friend in Japan and apparently they are not very excited about people who speak languages apart frmo Japanese. my friend speaks English and faces racism every single day of their life. Japanese people think of foreigners as stupid. They think of the west as 'lower' than them. (When I say west I mean anything western of China, at least most of them idk what they think about the gulf or africa which is basically about half the world's population)
let me give u the explanation for that sofa thing. it is because the Indians until like the late 90s were learning and speaking more of British English, so that's when the Indians learned sofa, but later we started borrowing words from American English, and the newer words as they come into use are considered the fancy ones here. The reason U guys consider sofa higher class is simply because it is from the vocabulary of wine-sipping Brits.

Bajaj platina is one of most fuel efficient bike probably in the world claimed to give 100 km/ltr average and also in real world it gives a mileage of about 80km/ltr. Not per gallon, per litre.
I personally feel that the people who use simpler words are easier to understand and to connect with
