Just one note for this video, i already had thought about connecting my naked hero 8 like that, but with that connection you will unbalance the 6S lipos, im not confortable with that, but for someone who wants to run that connection always make sure to not run the battery to low voltage and ALWAYS balance charge your lipos. yes always balance charge your LiPo's! I haven't noticed any significant un-balancing in the 6s LiPo's using this method yet. been using it pretty consistently for the last two weeks or so.
You could just build a 6S plug then instead, using the 6th pin instead of 4th. Most downconverters I see will do a wide range of 6-24v DV and down convert to 5v. Only downside is a fully 100% 6s is just over 25v DC. Sooo..use 5th pin and only have one cell out of balance? IDK.
For naked cameras that support a range of voltage such as 6V-26V, is it best to just take the lowest voltage you can find (e.g. 2S)? I'm planning to try and use a SMO 4K as normal camera.
If I bought a naked go pro already assembled and BEC board inside the case can I just use the balance connector to connect to the battery and power on the GoPro?
Thanks for the great tutorial Tron. I just got a flywoo naked 12 and am stoked to use it. Do have a question though- from what I’m seeing online the GP12 needs a 5V power source. Any chance you can confirm this?
Hey, nice video! I have question, why do you use bec? You have bec in every case you buy.. namelessrc, geprc.. they all have bec so it can be powered directly from battery, there is no need for another bec? Greetings
Funny how you have to many go pro. Can’t even afford 1. Also the new thumb pro v2 was released . They increased the fov from 150 to 155. Do you think that is a big improvement?
This is basically a handful of naked cameras I have for the drone tour business, gotta have backups on backups! I saw that, i'm not sure if the FOV increase will make much of a difference. IMO the best upgrade they could make would be a 4:3 sensor as opposed to a 16:9

This method will work with 3s! even though this BEC board says it requires 12v I just tested it with 3s LiPo at 11v and my naked GoPro was able to power on 👍
Hey man I just built your 200$ FPV drone and everything is great I have image. But I can't figure out the dang controller. I'm so confused can't bind or anything I'm just overwhelmed man do you think you could help out I got the jumper t lite v2

Capacitor isn't needed since a camera won't have surges like a prop motor will. Caps are for huge surge demands such as car audio amps and similar (prop motors in our case).
GoPro's everyday. I usually use my hero 9 or 10. Hero 8's are good because of their size. I have a couple Hero 11 Mini's on the way so that will be my new go-to 👍
The only thing with the Hero 7 is to run the footage through post-stabilization like reelsteady or gyroflow you need to really dampen the camera. If you plan on just using internal stabilization I'd say go for it!
@@Trentleck1 I would recommend upgrading if you can. For the hero 7 there is something with the way the gyro data is recorded that makes it not work well with reelsteady. Nurk has a great article on this: bit.ly/3EoNh30

I would not use JST just from few cells and not the complete pack, recipe for unbalanced cells
do you know the JST connector size for the nameless rc bce? can't figure out the size of the connector
Could I trim the balance plug even more to use with 2s batteries?
As long as your naked GoPro BEC accepts 6v or more this would work 👍

I got a voltage of 8.8v out of the Bec.. im using xt30 850mah gnb.. im unable to power up my naked gp.. any ideas wat gone wrong?
How many cells on your battery? is it a 4s or 6s?

the input voltage can vary depending on what BEC board you're using. Are you using the Betafpv BEC?
