Truly a World Cup to remember, not just the final match but also all the upsets and the history made by Morocco. Capped off beautifully by the Cinderella story of Messi hoisting the cup
True! Only I wish they showed more grit in the last match and won bronze. But, at least the round of 16 was very diverse. We can sense the 'worldwide' feeling of the tournament! Hoping this is the trend moving forward!

Can we just take a moment to look at Scaloni. So low profile, so humble. How do you think other coaches would have reacted after winning the world cup? Like the coach from my country, Louis van Gaal for example.
Messi and Scaloni gave a good lesson to both Netherlands and France who display traits of superiority/ arrogance. Self belief is good and needed BUT too much can be your downfall... Especially against a team like Argentina
I thought the Argentinians were the bullies... Or so some international press have been hammering about.
@@ThePolypam just bad press

He was up all close and yapping at the french players whenever they got near his area lmao wdym?
Perfect coaching from Argentina: playing Di Maria on the left side was an incredible bargain that worked perfectly. Once Di Maria left the field it was a complete switch and France dominated the rest of the game with the help of all our fantastic substitutes. Overall Argentina was more in control in the game and showed more concentration and determination, but France showed remarkable resilience. We can't win all the time, congrats to Argentina.
Whatever brilliance he did with de maria swap he cancelled with his horror decision to put 2 left backs and being adamant not to bring on Lisandro Martinez and strengthen the defence. He was somehow saved from criticism because Argentina won. Hope he learns from his mistakes.
From an argentine a great game from the french thank you for such a worthy opponent and beautiful futbol
France only dominated from the first penalty till the end of the regular time, like 15 minutes. The rest of the game it was really close.
The finals showed Why the World loves football! This beautiful sport will grow bigger than it is ..Very soon 90% of the World will watch /play it..Changing lives and bring in a new breed of GREATS...Respect to everyone 🙏
For a while 90% of the world watches/play football already. It's the most popular sport in the world for years. Here in USA is where isn't that popular, but hopefully it'll grow bigger in popularity.
I would say that more than 90% have already practiced and watched football for years. Asians are increasingly involved and Africa is Europe's fuel in football. Obviously South America and Europe have been doing this for more than 100 years. North America is a separate case, they are simply not for football.
Lionel Scaloni did what even Maradona as a Coach failed, win with Messi, the Copa & World Cup with much superior Messi & teammates around. Scaloni won the World Cup with the last remnants of Messi's genius at the age of 35 with much inferior & inexperienced youth squad. The man needs no words of plaudits. That speaks for itself what a tactical genius he has been. I won't be surprised if Scaloni wins another Copa & writes another Argentinian Football History with the return of Messi in 2026. And even win it again. 🙏🙏🙏
Maradona was a genius of a player but a poor manager. Scaloni was fairly ordinary as a player ( average defensive player with Deportivo and West Ham) but is proving to be a very good manager. The two skill sets are vastly different.
Whether Maradona was a good coach is debatable. I did think Argentina in 2010 was very entertaining despite their awful defending.

Deschamps's courage to adjust before the half should be applauded. I don't understand Gab's criticism at all. France were getting killed on the wings and Deschamps urgently needed to play Mbappe centrally to be able to press more. Great managers do what's best for their team. Giroud? Great player but come on. They could have given up a third by not adjusting between the 40th and 45th minute.
Agreed. I've come around to realising he's underrated as a manager.
If it was Southgate he would have waited until after the 60th minute to make changes, at least.
I agree. What amazes me even more was that Scaloni DIDNT sub 🤣
I was like : what is he thinking ???
At the same time, couldn't Deschamps get Mbappe to defend for like, what, 5 minutes until halftime? That should be part of story. Kylian isn't 35 years old, he's 23. He can track back in an emergency situation without depleting his energy levels.
Plus Giroud wasn't even 100% fit
I literally had a panic attack multiple times during this match. We have truly seen history, Messi cementing his legacy and status and to have Mpappe show what he is made of. Just 23 and 2nd World Cup final, just insane he is going to be a beast with consistency, health and longevity.
No one is mentioning otamendi’s horror decision not to pass that ball that led to a penalty to the goalkeeper. The penalty too was pretty soft cos the foul started from outside the box, same thing with the Penalty 2018.
Yeah he should've booted the ball out. Poor decision making.
Only the Dembele penalty error is allowed to be criticized
@@nerodante1980 I was being sarcastic dude
Me and some of my friends had predicted before the WC that Otamendi was going to cost Argentina in a big game; he proved us wrong until the final 🙆🏾♂️. He had plenty of time to clear that ball but instead tried to control it which led to the penalty, which completely changed the dynamics of the game. He also was the one who misjudged that long ball and allowed the French forward to be one on one with Martinez and a chance to win the cup for France. Thankfully (from an Argentinean's perspective), the keeper made a great save.
@@upsalarmupsalarm1893 If he had cleared the ball properly, not sure we would be calling this the best world cup final 🤔.
Which do you prefer in retrospect? The twist and turns or a clearance resulting in a straightforward win?
As an argentinian, we didn't deserve to suffer so much for God's sake, Scaloni team had total control of the match for more than 70 minutes, then Scaloni though Di Maria was tired (he said it in a short interview on argentinian television), big mistake. After Angelito left the field, France started to activate with Mbappe. Kylian is a monster and to be honest was the only french player I was afraid of. Thank God we had Dibu Martinez and the rest is history. I think Argentina was the best team in the tournament. Now we have another international beef with France, like we have with Germany, England and Brasil. This entire World Cup I’ve always loved Scaloni’s pre game decisions and the tactics he decided to implement with his starting 11 but every single game my only issue with him was always either making poor subs, or waiting too long to make his subs. This final was the epitome of that. It was so blatantly obvious by the 70th minute that De Paul was barely trucking along and was becoming a liability and slowly allowing the momentum to shift, and France was starting to push the ball so high up they were exposed at the back buck Julian was too worn out at the point as well to have fully maximizes those opportunities. I fully believe if as alone has made those subs in the 70th minute instead of waiting until ET then this game finishes at the end of regulation with Argentina as the winner
I hear the recap of the game and I start feeling that anxiety again .What a nerve-wracking game! I could you watch and I could not take my eyes away.

Subbing out Dembele and Giroud in the 40th minute did not impact the game at all though. They continued to be outplayed for another 40 minutes. It was only in the 80th minute after the penalty France came to life. Coman was the sub that really impacted the game
Dembele is a RB or RWB, and i dont know why anyone would be disappointed with his performance when its the coach 's ineptitude thats to blame. Griezmann isnt a midfielder, Kounde isnt a RB, and Dembele most certainly isnt a defender, and France doesnt have a midfield, so against a well structured team like Argentina, you dont play players out of their positions.
Im sorry but Deschamps is an awful coach, France despite having good players hasnt played well in any game, it relied on individual brilliance of few players, Griezmann, Mbappe and Dembele to find solution, but in the previous 3 games.... England, Morocco, Argentina, 2 of those players were made to play deeper on defense, Dembele and Griezmann, meaning they cant contribute much on attack because with Mbappe and Giroud not defending, France plays with 9 men against good attacking teams. And to compensate for that, Dembele was forced to spend much of the match at RB and so too Griezmann. And then they have sprint the entire pitch every single French attack, thats asking a lot from players that have to play again every few days.
Exactly.
Poor Jules. He’s a classy guy, never makes douchey comments, humble, calls it how he sees it. Doesn’t troll, doesn’t make contrarian comments for the sake of it like so many sports “journalists.” As an Argie I feel bad for the guy because I know he loves France. I think it´s fare to add they won copa america against the actual champion at that time, against italy the champion of europe and again beat the actual champion of the world.
Those last worries from Gab made me realize what football in major tournaments is all about,🙌😭
It's amazing how people always jump on Dembele, it's very sad, Dembele played all the world cup as defender, Dembele needs space to impress himself, the coach never has the freedom to play, please leave Dembele alone, he is a great player
Frank said he didn't do anything all world cup which wasn't fair. I think he played well until the semis where he didn't have an impact

I think Giroud and Griezmann should have been impact subs and not having them hooked off way before half time. Also both of them not being there meant the inexperienced guys were under pressure to take the spot kicks and they missed due to being inexperienced and nervous.

Didier subs were spot on. France came back and only lost on PK
I disagree with Gab on the point of Deschamps’ subs, if anything he waited too long to make that first double change, at 2-0 the game SHOULD have been dead and buried but somehow Mbappe dragged them all the way to penalties - who cares about pride and humiliation with the subs in a World Cup final, if they’d won everyone would’ve been praising Deschamps for being bold
Very happy for Messi and Argentina after going through so many finals losses😊❤️!!!
What makes it more amazing is that France was really a great and a strong team throughout the tournament and Messi's team beat them which tells you how tight and good Argentina was.
France actually played like they always did., minus Morocco. They would get outplayed but somehow come away with the win. Argentina would play better every game through out every round.

If France played like this against England, it would've been England in the finals!
When facing England and Morocco, France's defense actually looked so fragile. They relied on chances and individual qualities, that's why in my opinion they'd been able to create so many opportunities before the final defeat. And, tbh, the final twist was also because of Mbappe's individual brilliance not team's... unlike Argentina which was not only relying on Messi but also team efforts as well imo.
What happened? They play against the Best team, that's what happened
It’s important to remember all the players who would’ve played this match instead who were out due to injury. Deschamps didn’t help matters with some of his decisions, but his hands were tied tbf
@@anthonymc8361 From my limited perspective, Griezmann was everywhere in the Morocco game, stopping any attack before it became a threat.
To an extent it happened in the England game also. England didn't look a threat unless when going up against Upamecano.
Meanwhile against Argentina, all of France's midfield and defence seemed to really break down. Can't even get the simplest clearances right.
Completely agreed on Mbappe's individual brilliance though! All 3 goals were literally because of Mbappe.. In the England and Morocco games, you could really see the help he got from Giroud and Griezmann. In the Argentina game, I think he really got very little support.
Still a bit baffled what made the French squad "break down".
half of the team caught a virus (maybe covid or turista) between the day before the match against Morocco and the day before the match against Argentina.

No way. In neymar, mbappe & messi PSG have 3 guys who do not defend. They only look good in a team where other 9 outfield players do all the running & dirty work for them. For much of his career with Argentina, messi also had the same issue. In past, argentina had to many players like messi who are brilliant in attack (aguero/higuain etc) who didn't defend. The outcome is well known. Modern attacking players need to be in Julian alvarez's profile who defend from the front. You can carry maybe one of messi/mbappe/neymar. No more. TBF neymar used to defend earlier in his career but not now
Would be the perfect finale
@@fanoffootball100 why not? The knockers said Argentina couldn't do it and they did, ANYTHING is now possible especially with these 2, look at last night!
I would be happy for Messi if Paris won but the team dynamics at Paris is horrible...
The stadium is beautiful 😍
Easily the most beautiful football stadium ever. Wow. Stunning.
Forever The Glory to Messi and La Scaloneta ⭐️⭐️⭐️🇦🇷❤️✨

Football is Completed
Wow; DiMaria had a 96.4% Pass Accuracy; just WOW!!🔥💕🇬🇾
The first Penalty for Argentina was A fraud
Otamendi mistake made it interesting, he should be given special award
Officials too should get it right about what is a handball. If you deliberately move your hand then yes but if it comes off you then no. It should not have been a penalty .

FRENCH WHINING FROM JULS. He is demanding red card and yellow card for Otamendi and De Paul , lol. If any challenge by them was worthy of a red card. Then half of the french team should be on the bench because of the fouls Depaul recieved. He was kicked and sliced at times.
I won't say it a final. It is a Grand Final. A Final like none other.

Deschamps had to stop the bleeding before the third goal came or at least try to get things turned around. But he had to make more changes to really turn it around. 5 changes all together. Unsung workhorse for France….Adrien Rouboit
The French sucked all night if scallion hadn’t pulled di Maria it would have been 4-0 Argentina
But the first 80 mins bar the WONDERFUL Di Maria goal!?
Agreed, genius move by coach Lionel to start Di Maria. However… Never, ever make a sub before a corner against your team. Mac Allister went off, France tied it 3:3
Fake penalty
Agreed. Was wondering if they couldn't have waited to make the sub especially with a corner for France next. Leave the guy who has a feel for the game in for the corner.
@@dwighttaylordt yea the defence switches off when they have to wait for the corner. Similarly, you don’t want a guy to wait to take a pen cos he starts getting into his own head
Jules look like he about to cry omg, my heart feels for him 😢

Not only best final but arguebly one of the best tournaments ever. Where are all the haters to qatar world cup now???
they will comeback
western hate everything
they even hating on royal gift to messi
Still here. Baning people from the stadium for wearing a pink watch isn't good. The ticket prices wasn't good. Ruining the club season wasn't good. Because the final was good doesn't change all that. Teams playing a good game isn't because of Qatar.
@@respectopinion6129 no we hate imoral people.
@@russellward4624 if you hate immoral people, save it for when the USA and european countries host. Those countries have killed (in the past and as recent as yesterday) millions in just the last 20 years. But of course you won't, it's just about the bad bad arabs😂
