Bought one because of your review. Stoked on it! Build quality is stellar, definitely worth the $ as you said, even better that it's still reasonably priced regardless. Thanks!
Love Smallrig stuff !!! I picked up the VT 20 smallrig tripod. It's AWESOME!! With the legs inverted I carry it on my bag or belt loop. Little bigger than a water bottle and has 2 part metal tube legs. Holds my nikon gear with a L bracket, no problem
Thanks for a great video. I was in the market for a desktop tripod, but was a little concerned about the overall lack of height. Your idea to add an extension pole is genius and solved my problem. I'm in the UK so couldn't use your affiliate links to buy these items, but I want to thank you again for helping me out. Cheers.
I think i know why they put the bubble level in there, you suposed to put the ball head in the 90 degrees you mention, so then the bubble is facing up, then you can level the legs. Its not really for leveling the ball head.
So the tripod legs have no locking mechanism to stop them spreading under the weight of the camera? Just relies on friction of the rubber feet to stop them slipping?
I know what you mean, I hate trying to straighten them back out after using them a special way, I guess the only advantage is a little extra height from it. Thank you
looking into this one bc of your review bc I prefer metal but Nikon 30 has a small rig mini tripod with remote but it's plastic. wonder if you have used that one and what you think
Thank you for going into detail here. I know a mini tripod is a simple thing but when I was shopping for one it left so many questions unanswered like: what's it made of? does the ball head come off? You covered all the details. I think that hack is just what I need, too. Thanks!
Thank you for this excellent review! It really looks like a great option. Question - is is possible to attach GoPro 9 or 10 to this tripod directly or you would need some additional accessories for it? Thanks!
You are welcome, and if I’m not mistaking you will need an adapter since the go pros don’t have a 1/4 hole on the bottom. You might have an adapter that came with your go pro that will allow the hookup
These loo good. What is still a good flex legs version for a Joby GripTight Pro tablet? iPad mini 6. Doesn't need to be big, just stable on rocks or uneven terrain.
I have had really good luck with the Joby brand gorillapod, I think the 3k model would work good for you, it can support around 6 pounds which is a lot more than you need and would be extremely sturdy for you. I think they are roughly 45$, and would probably be my recommendation for flexible tripod. Do you already have a iPad clamp to screw into the tripod legs or are you needing that too?
@@TechGearwithZack The other head I got for iPad was the older GripTight Mount Pro Tablet (7-10"). What is the smaller size just below the 3K? Although, I like the 1 in white trim. iPad w/ case mount & hub is barely 1.5 Lb
Hey, I Don't believe so. The Tripod comes with its own brand ballhead on the top, but if you have an extra peak design mount i'm sure it will be able to thread onto the top of the tripod and replace the included ballhead.

@@TechGearwithZack actually man you may have just enlightened me to how Arca Swiss plates work. Yeah I think width is the same but the length is what changes. I may have been referring to length which in theory, should fit this then. Thanks anyway my man!
I appreciate that! I always do my research so I can attempt to always get the best bang for my buck. I want to spend money one time and get something that will last
When you remove the Mini Tripod Head you see the screw is too big for the PULUZ default screw - I saw your review and bought it before I noticed that. That Screw is too big for any global tripod head including the PULUZ default screw. I needed a special SCREWDRIVER to replace the bottom screw 3/8 to the top of the SmallRig Mini tripod HEAD but it got stuck, jammed can't be moved in or out, I needed that special SCREWDRIVER again to get it out it because it jammed halfway. I TRIED IT AND IT BROKE THE 3/8 SCREW, thanks.

Cool video. Like your presentation style and the tip about using an extension pole is gold!!
Awesome! Thank you
Just purchased the tripod and the extension. Thanks.
is the legs have locking mechanism?

I’m too OCD for the Joby. It bothers me when the legs aren’t shaped the same lol. Great review!

so the legs are just held by friction? unless they are at the lowest position?

What’s up man, do you know if I could use my own 50mm Arca plate on this mount? Or is it a 38mm plate?
I’m not sure, by 50mm are you referring to the width or length of the plate, I’m not sure which way it is measured
