You forgot the most important thing...... the head can be unscrewed and the equipment can be mounted directly on the thread. Then the load can reach 20 kg !

Legs just wobble and have no fixation - can fold/open any time... Not convinced checking/tightening them each time with a key

Can another quick-change system (e.g. from Manfrotto) be screwed onto the tripod ball head?

Do you think this could hold a Black Magic 6K Pro? I've been using the little Manfrotto one and thinking about getting something a little stronger!

Yeah it should hold that. The ball head is rated at 2kg and the 6k pro is a little over 1.2kg.
