Big fan of the Pixie Evo but I shoot an m6ii so its a lighter camera
I'm loving my aluminum Peak Design Tripod. still hefty price tag, $500 CAD, but the extra weight helps to steady the camera while filming hand held using it like a steady cam rig.
I have the pixie mini and I love it. I don't use it for my m50 much, though it works im a pinch. I actually prefer it for my phone and I find it really useful for gopros
can you try the ulanzi MT-11?
Stay with in your budget. Don’t over spend because a stack of books can do the job . Just joking, but seriously, don’t over spend and over think it. These videos are there for you to over think and over spend. It’s materialism and consumerism at its best.

Great review Matti. I've been using the Gorilla Pod and you're right, it becomes weak. I have the Pixi Evo Mini too, it's good for vlogging because it's light and easy to setup/hold, but it's too short to put on your desk to film your face (Gorilla Pod is the perfect height for this). Gotta have both, unfortunately. PS. I don't know much about colour grading, but in the last two videos, your skin tones are looking a little orange on my screen (no hate, just letting you know).

This Peak Design tripod costs more than my camera. And all 3 lens that I got for it. And my tripod. And the whole rest of contents of my camera backpack. And my camera backpack.
Easy solution: buy an expensive camera. Balance restored!
I have 4 out of 5 of these (I don’t have that extending Joby). One important one that you left out is the Switchpod. I use the Switchpod for handheld. I added a ballhead with an arca swiss mount, and it’s perfect. My little Manfrotto tripods are now used for gimbals, action cams, etc, and my Gorillapod collects dust.

Do you end up using your 2-5 stop ND filter the most? I am just kind of getting into video and can most likely only afford to buy one or the other I am torn between then 2-5 & 6-9. Shoot mostly outside so I am leaning towards 6-9. I appreciate any advice you could give. Love your videos I have learnt a lot from them.
The tripods that come with the zhiyun gimbals are honestly my favourite, can always add a ball head if needed. The one that comes with the Crane 3s is a beast
What a coincidence, I recently just started vlogging and Ive just ordered a manfrotto pixi mini. I think its the biggest bang for you buck. easy to use, ball head included. Pair that with a quick release and your good to go.
I've been using 2 mini tripods. The Switchpod and a generic "desktop mini tripod" I found on Amazon. Been using both simultaneously.
What do you think about using a small gimbal, like the Ronin-SC, as a tripod for vlogging? I’m debating if this is a viable option, or if I’m just trying to do too much? Thanks!

This was good timing as I'm just realizing how much I could use some form of support/stabiliser for the camera in a pinch in the field.
Also really curious to know since you brought your Mavic Drone into the video. Did you end up getting your drone licence? And, if so, which did you opt for; basic or advanced? I'm just going over the notes and study materials for the test myself and wondered how you found it.

I use to use my Joby all the time but it started getting loose and weak pretty quick 🤦♂️ and it got annoying really fast 🤷♂️

Have you ever looked into the Sirui 3T-35 or AM2-Series AM-223 tripod? I own the 3T and for even ground and slight adjustments it's great, but it looks like the AM2 could give you a bit more control with an uneven surface?

We use the Gopro Jaws, it's a one legged gorillapod with a clamp. Super versatile for small camera's / gopros
Have you tried one of the Velbon Ultra's? They're small, light and the legs are super fast to operate.
Do you have any suggestions for a desk tripod or mount that you can use on your desk to get height over your monitors that doesn't break the bank? Doesn't appear that Elgato Multimounts are available anywhere, and they have limited use off your desk.
I have an Ultrapod and really like it for tiny cameras. They make a larger one too.
what about Gimbals for phone which can be used as a tripod as well? (DJI OS 4...etc)

I've started to prefer the Manfrotto Pixi to the Joby, just because it's easier to grip, and my Joby is a 3K, so it holds just as much and feels less like it's going to fall over. But then again I'm using Sony a6500 for most of my stuff, which weights very little, so I can add a lot of things to it.

Glad I saw this video, I was about to order the peak design tripod for vlogging. I have the EOS R, but I currently only have a 35 mm so everything is super tight on my face. I bought the gorilla pod cuz it’s the typical RUclips tripod. Thanks for the video! Saved me money!
I have got a Pixi Mini, and I really like it! Especially for smaller gimbals, so you can put the gimbal on the ground.

The joby telepod is horrible. I tried it out because I thought it might be interesting for my iPhone 11 but it doesn't even hold the weight of that so no idea what its made for.
Haven't gotten to that part yet but if it's the bendy flexible one I agree, it's way too light to hold anything up :/

what if a company took a job pod with some form of quick release system that unlocked all of the different little modules of the job legs and then once it was in place you tighten a nob on the side to "stiffen" all those individual sections. I dont know how but I feel like that would fix all the issues while still accommodating this on the go style Vlogging.
That drone footage was really sick! But for the car mount.... with the speed you’ll be going I don’t know if the stick will work? I’ve tried that before and the wind speed could snap it like a twig

I like my mefoto roadtrip s. Stable with my eos R and 24-105, as lightweight as the leak design carbon. The form factor of the peak design is awesome but one attached on the side of the backpack it does not matter. For me it’s hard to justify the price difference. At this price tag (400-600$) I would go for another brand.

I don't mind the Switchpod, but I did put a little ball head before they started selling them. A way to adjust the legs a bit would definitely be nice ... I'm glad I got mine at the Kickstarter price, though. I'm not sure I'd want to pay the full price.
Matti...I was watching one of your videos that inspired me to step up my b-roll. You had to probably spend an hour or so filming b-roll of you on your one-wheel but the finished product was amazing!

Great video - The Peak Tripod, that's almost as much as my camera lol, i chose a Sirui Am223 - solid/compact/tripod & selfie stick 2 in 1, made of carbon....not as light-but its a sturdy beast! (for anyone who wants an alternative option) I have an eos rp & rf35 lens on my am223.

why do u not use a monopod`? with feet, so it stands by itselfs and it goes really hight. also it is easy and fast to make it longer or shorter

I use small tripod Rollei compact traveler mini and it's great. Try look at it
