Totally agree. I’ve had one of these for the last two years. It’s excellent
Glad you like it too!
Yep, agree Gordon, it’s a great addition to a light bag carry. I also use a Sirui 3T-35K which I find has even more flexibility whilst not detracting from the clean and simple benefits of the Feisol. Nice video. Best ....
This was so helpful as I have been looking for a good small tripod and need some of these accessories too.... thank you!!!
You're very welcome! Links to everything in the description!
I've had a Manfrotto Digi 709b for years and for me it's perfect. It's much sturdier than the Pixi range and cost about £85 in 2012. I love that it fits in my pocket and is strong enough to hold my DSLR with ease. If having a built in ballhead is preferable I'd very highly recommend it.
Another great review - Thank you
You're welcome!
Just my Feisol, used it on my R5 with RF 50 1.8. I’ll try with bigger lenses in the morning, it is smaller than I imagined but very sturdy.
Thanks Gordon for such a quick response!!! I’ll buy it off the link
Cheers! I love mine!
I use the Leica Table Top Tripod but will check this one out. Thank you for the review.
Great informative video. Thank you for sharing this info.
You're welcome!
Just a smidgen bigger than my RRS pocket pod, but due to the wider base on the TT-15, you appear to get a slightly wider and more stable footprint at each of the three height settings. If I were to buy again I’d definitely go with the TT-15.
I kind of like the platypod with a good large ballhead. You can even clip it somewhere use the legs or not use the legs, and works even in certain situations that you can't even use a tripod, like touring inside a castle, a house, they always have those security poles with flat top where you can keep the platypod flat on it.
I like the Sirui 3T-15, it's a bit heavy but can support a lot of weight, like my Fujifilm X-T3 with the 16mm 1.4 at a 90 degree tilt, without using an L-bracket.
i have the benro mini SC08 great stability, i've had my M50 with sigma 100-400 on it, i have full size tripods but when there is a wall available it makes for a better stable platform than a fully extended full size t'pod
This looks like a great bit of kit. However if you're not using the ballhead I would highly recommend looking at the Manfrotto MP4, arguably the best $20 I've ever spent. Tripod that literally fits in your jeans pocket.
Just picked this up on your recommendation Gordon, it's awesome! It's muchhh tinier than it looks than in even your video, but it really is the perfect size :) I think Feisol must've seen your note about the D ring because mine came with a tiny swivel handle along the coin screw! Cheers :)
Glad you like it! Yes, that handle would make things better, but I still use mine almost daily!
Ordered it!! Thx
Hope you like it!
@@cameralabs I have a Platypod, this will complement it I feel. Thanks again!!!
Small tripods are the best. I love my plasticky pedco ultrapod ii
Good One sir
I would love to use this tripod with Manfrotto Move add-on.
I use a set of gorilla pods for this type of work BUT I've had them topple a lot! This looks more stable.
I used to use Gorillapods, but much prefer this now.
Nice! I have had small tripods before, but they were always too flimsy!
Eh, the only tripod I have always on me is the Panasonic tripod grip. And as I have Pixi Evo as well, I'm not sure if this would be of any benefit (even with the Panaleica 100-400 for example).
I didn't know I needed that.
You do now!
@@cameralabs Yes, damn you! 🤓
@@DirkMoeller fairly affordable though compared to a lot of the gear I talk about!
@@cameralabs absolutely, but, you know, 100 quid here, 6000 quid there - it mounts up!
very cool item I never thought I needed but was wrong 😂
Myself exactly!
Hi Gordon, great video - very informative. I wonder if you can answer this. On the CB-30D ball head, does the plate screw off of it? Thanks, Mike
You mean the clamp? I'm.not sure but they normally do
Did you try it with focus rails? it looks very promising to carry it in field for macro photo stacking.
I've not tried that, but it is really stable folded right out.
Nice but do you have a recommend for something a bit more budget friendly? I'm using a Cannon g5x and this seems a bit overkill for my uses which is Marco shooting.
Do you want a full-size or a mini tripod, and what's your budget?
Hi Gordon, happy holidays! I am in searching for a strong short tabletop for my handheld z axis arm plus RP and 16mm. Do you think this would be enough or the ifootage Monopod mini tripod feet? Thank you chhers
If you have the legs opened to their widest position, it can be surprisingly stable, albeit very low to the ground.
Thanks for this review and for me it is too small for my purposes. I appreciate what mention in your video, but at such a short hight, why to use put your camera down and the ledge etc and take a shot? I use a Open CTT-1000 carbon fibre tripod as it has many features to make it useful in different situations. It can be small and light weight and also border on being an actual travel tripod option. Keep up the great vids! I'll buy you another coffee soon!
Thanks for the coffee! In situations like the one in New York, a normal tripod is not allowed, so a tabletop is the ONLY option.
Very interested, I have a Canon R5, was interested in the L bracket, is there one you’d recommend?? Like the CB-70 too. Thx
I'll see if it works on the R5 - it's designed for multiple cameras.
@@cameralabs thank you!!!!
Hi Gordon would you still recommend this mini travel tripod in 2024 or have you personally found something better to use on your travels ......thanks and best regards to you
ABSOLUTELY! I was only using it earlier today. Still the best option
@@cameralabs Thanks Mate
SUNWAYFOTO T1A20D-T is a similar mini pod that extends sold on Amazon. It's a lock ball design. Has anyone heard of them? They're out of Shenzhen but what isn't these days.
Did you watch the video Mike? I recommend TWO Sunway accessories!
@@cameralabs lol I did but didn't catch that part. Was cooking
@@mikegewalt4122 ok from a fellow cook, I forgive you!
I need a sturdy tripod no larger than 9” when packed down but goes to 60” when fully extended. Unfortunately it doesn’t exists.
That would not be a stable tripod.
@@cameralabs Depends how well engineered it is. It’s definitely possible but it would need an extremely clever and unorthodox design.
@@chrisjames1924 it certainly would!
nice little piece of a gear! hhmmm..but whats wrong with the Manfrotto PIXI-EVO? It costs the half of the price and I hardly see a difference, except that on my Pixi is already a small ballhead included, wich makes it more versatile again.
I've found the Pixi nowhere near as stable in previous tests.
Hmmm, I wonder if it would work well with a Star Guider Pro that has a G9 fitted to it, say with the Olympus 40-150 f4-5.6...
That guider head looks quite top-heavy for this kind of tripod, even before you mount a camera with a big lens. It could be fine for shorter exposures, but I suspect not for longer ones in this instance.
Have you restored your StarWars X wing yet Gordon? 😋😉☺️
Ha ha! Not yet,.BUT I am working on a new channel with some retro game reviews coming soon!
@@cameralabs cool, perhaps some Atari 2600 games, I was a huge fan of that console 👍😁
@@dunnymonster Me too!
Not available easily in the UK, sadly.
No, I know it's a pain. You can order it via the Feisol Europe website though.
@@cameralabs Many thanks Gordon. Love your reviews btw, miss Brighton.
Seems expensive for what you get, the SMALLRIG Mini Tripod at half the price with decent ball head seem much better value.
I'll check it out
That does look good ... but appears to be significantly heavier. thoughts Gordon?
@@brucesterlowden140 I'd have to try it out, I've not used it.
Sorry, PB-70
Too expensive
Sturdier than any full size tripod costing the same, so no, not too expensive.
You do know you’re not helping people who are ill from G.A.S., right?
This is one of the lowest-priced pieces of kit I've reviewed on this channel, so it's not that bad!
