    First of all, congratulations! I hope to be there in a few years. How helpful did you find "Uso interactivo del vocabulario" and do you think if you had finished the book it would have helped more? Also how helpful was Cronometro for the exam? Did you ever do any longer text reading (novels/books) in your prior studies OR for your Dele prep or just news articles and short stories and were any of these resources particularly high yield in your Spanish language studying or your Dele prep? Sorry if you already answered these.

    • @JerryRegistre
      @JerryRegistre  Год назад +3

      Thank you, Alan! “Uso interactivo” taught me a TON of new vocab and helped me drill them nicely to retain words. I’d work with the book right alongside the answer key to ensure you’re training the right things. I skipped a handful of the words I felt were too niche, but I did most of the exercises right up to page ~94. I’m still planning to go through the rest of the book when my work calms down a bit.
      As for Cronómetro, I’m honestly not sure I would have passed the exam without it. Taking practice tests has always been my go-to for any exam, so this book helped me train and drill the structure of the exam and get used to the difficulty of the content.
      I have not really read novels in Spanish (mostly articles and stories on Españolavanzado and Spanish news like El País in Spain), but I’d like to spend some time on reading novels in the future. I’d say Españolavanzado felt the most deliberate since it teaches you words as you read (they highlight advanced vocab and give you natural translations and explanations for them).
      Hope this helps! Can’t wait for you to beat the exam 🙏🏽

    This was so inspiring! 😊 I‘m currently thinking about doing a DELE exam but I‘m unsure what level I have. I struggle a little with reading comprehension since I mostly speak and listen spanish (my boyfriend is mexican) and don‘t really read spanish texts.
    I guess I‘ll maybe just try C1 because I feel like C2 might be a little to hard for me at the moment. But maybe one day I can also do the C2 exam 😁

    Hey, Jerry. Still lovin' the videos and the recounting of the journey that got you to the C2 level. I only have one request; please speak a little more slowly during your vids. Please? I'm a native English speaker who happens to teach EFL/ESL, and I often have to rewind your vids because I keep missing words and phrases here and there. Is this just your natural pace, or is there some RUclips time constraint that you have to take into consideration? Even if your vids are a bit longer, I'd happily watch until the end, as your journey fascinates/inspires me to kick my own Spanish skills up a few notches. So, how about it? Can you watch the tachometer a bit more closely?😁 Also, would you happen to know if there are similar testing entities for Arabic, Chinese, and French?

    • @JerryRegistre
      @JerryRegistre  Год назад

      Hey Hank, really appreciative of the candid feedback! I used to get a lot of feedback about picking up the pace in my videos, so I started cutting out pauses and fluff to get to the good stuff faster for the RUclips world. But if it’s getting too fast, I’ll start slowing down a bit until we get the pacing right. (But I think I do bias towards faster naturally-I watch almost all videos on 2x speed+ now when possible 😄). I appreciate the feedback and patience while I keep working on the craft! 🙏🏽

    • @JerryRegistre
      @JerryRegistre  Год назад +1

      To your 2nd question, there should be C2 exams for most languages. For French, it should be called the DALF C2, and for Arabic there’s one called the TOAFL C2. For Chinese, it seems there are a number of different orgs that organize different C2 level language exams, like the ACTFL and HSK. I’m less familiar with all of these, but I hope that’s a good starting point 🙌🏽

    • @hankgrimes1806
      @hankgrimes1806 Год назад

      @@JerryRegistre Thank you for the prompt response. As your viewership grows, your response time will probably get slower, so I'm gonna enjoy this while it lasts. Lol! I HAVE TO watch my speed in class because my students are non-native speakers, so I'm hyper aware of how others speak English. I just don't want to miss any of the information that you so generously provide us, and I'm glad you're willing to check your speed a bit.

    • @hankgrimes1806
      @hankgrimes1806 Год назад

      I got ahead of myself with the question about other languages - sorry to be a bother. I'm definitely going to stat practicing (consistently) that which i preach in class every day by putting my own language learning back on the front burner. I'm no longer satisfied, if I ever was, with speak "some" French, Arabic, etc., and you've reminded me that higher-level language skills are hardly out of reach for me. Like they say, those who fail to plan, plan to fail. Can't wait for the next vid.
