Is anyone else actually doing this during 2022 gas prices? Or is it just me? Thank you for the awesome video! Seriously, me and my wife have been trying to become more self sufficient and this really helped us to understand one of the basic necessities being in the 21st century. Plastic is everywhere. “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure” is the best slogan for this. 🙏🏽

its about effeciency and its about 90%... for 10kg of plastic bags you get 9kg of fuel and 1kg of total waste. .
all plastic bags, foil bags, trash bags are made of oleum petroleum so you can turn them back into oil and extract the diesel fuel, hydrogen, methane gases even engine oil can be made out of plastic bags.
problem is that many youtube videos say that you can pour the fresh made fuel into your car that is not true, you MUST cool down the fuel to lget parafin wax form up,it should form up on bottom or top of fuel tank, you must remove the parafin wax, heat up fuel again to get it more pure, cool it down again and remove more parafin wax when it forms up and any other residues. after third refining your fuel is pure and ready to be used in car. if you just make fuel and pour fresh made fuel into car you will cause engine seizure.
anyway i do not recommend using the home-made fuel from trash in cars. not modern ones. i would use ti only in grass trimmers, chainsaws and remote controlled cars rc airplanes and sush. this fuel is UNSAFE even when is refined into pure fuel. anyone using it for car at their own risk

Cool, but the problem is that the amount of fuel energy you get is less than the fuel energy you used to make it. Now if you could harness sun heat and other natural geo sources for prime heat, you'd have something. The slower something breaks down, the more energy will be required to speed up decomposition.

This is actually very incorrect. You start with plastic, which if you consider to have zero fuel value, and end up with a mix of hydrocarbons with potential fuel value. The amount of heat required to make the conversion is very little compared to the fuel value of the hydrocarbons. Generally the gas that is also produced, in this example caught in an inner tube, has enough energy value to heat the plastic and continue the process if used properly. So after some initial heat input the process can provide its own energy to continue.

@@chathurangaprasad7919 That won't solve the purpose. I guess the aim was to make fuel out of plastic. But, what we are doing here is, using a form of fossil fuel (LPG) or as you suggested firewood, into a low-density hydrocarbon, which has almost no use as a fuel.
So, ultimately, you are using plastic, yes, but also using a fossil fuel as the input energy.

The viability of this method may be less. Because the amount of residues the process produces and the output product being very less. Additionally, one has to supply a lot of heat energy to obtain fuel. Anyways, it's worth the try :)

Urine is basically chemicals in solution, so if those chemicals can be properly utilised, it can be a fuel like any other. The Bristol team uses a Microbial Fuel Cell (MFC) system, which harnesses microorganisms to create energy as part of their metabolic process... infact there is a nano-powder to produce hydrogen fuel from urine.
