  • Making a personalized DIY dog collar to suit your furry friend’s personality is so easy and satisfying with our easy step-by-step tutorial and visuals.
    Written tutorial: hellosewing.co...
    The best part is you can choose the fittings. For a dog that swims a lot a stainless steel D ring and plastic side release buckle and tri-slider are best. These DIY dog collars look professional and make great presents for friends who lavish more on their fur-babies than they do on themselves. It is also the perfect way to use up a long strip off offcut cotton fabric. The cotton is comfortable next to the dog’s skin, and the webbing provides the strength so the dog does not break free from it’s leash.

    I usually always hate tutorials with music, but not this one. Not only is this the video that showed me how to make a dog collar, I actually watched it so much that I learned the words to the song. My singing still sucks but I can make an awesome collar for my dogs. Thank you

    I have a question about the machine itself, I’m using a Janome 2212 and I’m having feeding problems. I can’t get the fabric to move through the machine

    how do you keep the fabric from bunching up while your sewing it? I use so many clips to try to keep it in place but mine always bunch up making the end result not flat.

      Have you tried a walking foot? It feeds fabric evenly.

    Hi, I'm from India. I have a normal basic sewing machine here. Can nylon be sewed on that? Does it need any special setting/feature...simple cotton thread only can be used in ours, I guess..

    • @HelloSewing
      @HelloSewing  15 часов назад

      Really depends on your sewing machine I'm afraid - if it's really basic it would probably have a really hard time sewing through such a thick material. You can however sew the fabric channel and then insert the nylon webbing but you will need to sew the ends by hand

    Great tutorial, thank you. What kind of a thread should be used for dog collars? Basic one or something sturdier?

    • @THECATCLUB630
      @THECATCLUB630 9 месяцев назад

      For a large dog take a sturdier thread

    Do you have a link to order the buckles? I ordered 1” buckles but by the time I try to feed them through the buckles it is way too thick. I’ve tried 2 types of buckles with the same outcome. I would love to make some for family for stocking stuffers.

    Does cotton webbing work as well as nylon webbing?

    • @HappyLife-id6mx
      @HappyLife-id6mx 8 месяцев назад

      Cotton will get soften when washed frequently. Nylon is much durable.
