I had a '79 Power Wagon with that setup. Loved it, should have kept it etc. Definitely a fan of keeping a lot of it original. 440 factory 4WD etc. Reliability is always a concern. It's a great project and I always thought I like to have one.

Knowing there will be more Mopar projects down the road for RestoMods, the 440 and drivetrain upgrade for the 75 Ramcharger project would be a beast to behold! Can't wait to start seeing the fruits of your labor.
Keep the 440. Go with a six pack and shaker hood. Roll bar with four forward facing and three rear facing lights (KC Daylighters). Fender flares would be cool, but not necessary. Depends how original you want to keep it. Push bar (LED Light bar inside the posts) no wrap around because it takes away from the front end. Ram box the back end as not much more than carrying plywood works with the wheel wells. Tow hitch front and rear. The current paint scheme works. If I had this truck, I’d put a winch mounted over the rear end with a tool box, the weight wouldn’t hurt with snow or sand traction. Second battery, definitely, for lights, radios, future welder…
From personal experience, a 440 with the f.i. tech injection is a beast. Mine isn't all that hot (only about 425 hp) but going from carb to injection, night and day difference.
The 440 was a factory option keeping it yet updating it let's that heritage continue of real mopar muscle and history. This resto mod should definitely get upgrade igniton and fuel injection for comfort, none complicated long term storage (if needed) upgrade brakes, suspension, and steering. That way it's comfortable driver that not only the winner but his/her family can enjoy safely. This is a really great truck and a beautiful change from broncos and k5 bazers you see almost all the time. Mopar or no car.
Another vote to keep the 440. Build it and add FI Tech Fuel injection. I would like to see a capable off road rig. Step up too some real suspension with King Shocks all around.
Do a performance build of a Cummins 12 valve (all mechanical) to have a diesel Ram Charger with a Marmon Herrington AWD and HydroMech iVT transmission - it'll crawl up walls and get down the road for a million miles!
I just bought a 77 dodge power wagon a week or 2 ago and I have been working on getting it running but I love it so far it sounds really good when fired up but it was a military truck turned into a fire truck but I can't wait to see what yall do to it but I would suggest keeping the 440 and upgrade it
If by any chance I end up winning the beautiful truck I would prolly have a heartache bc it would truly be a blessing or any vechicle y’all give away I have no vehicle rn and am stuck on foot to get to work 😂 y’all keep up the good work love it
put a hellcat red eye in it i had a really good buddy who had one, unfourtunatley i lost him to covid this year we was going to go get one for me, but he passed away together with 25 other relatives close to me this past year, this machines was great, maybe one day ill get one.

EVERYONE is doing Hellcat swaps… do something original… the 440 is an awesome engine. Most people won’t admit this, but a 440 cuda was faster than a Hemi cuda so….

Go through that 440! Fuel inject it ! Plush suspension 3 link with pan hard and four link the rear . So you can drive and drive and drive it 👍👍

FiTech definitely makes great setups for these engines. Maybe a six pack kit?

Nice! Keep that back seat carpet seat cove and use it for the interior seats like leather side’s and then inside that pattern& color.

Love the idea of a 440 EFI with high flow heads and hydraulic roller cam. Mount to A518 trans with overdrive.
Definitely would look great with a FiTech unit stacked on there.
