If that center console is original, it probably has a drain in the bottom of it. Mine does, with a drain tube that goes through the floor, because it was designed to pull double duty as a cooler. It even has some neoprene glued to the inside. Jonathan Ward as a color that he calls "Rocky Mountain Grey" that I think would look awesome on a Ramcharger. Maybe grey paint from the windows down and then a deep black top. I have been looking for a repro dash cap for my '75 Ramcharger for awhile. I am doubting anyone is doing them, but with these truck making a comeback, maybe someone is starting to roll some out. I have found dash covers at LMC Truck.
Paint idea SassyGrass Green! With a flat black racing stripe for roof to hood! Green make it Pop and stand out for sure! I think dash would be great cleanup OEM. Man I can see this RamRide already!
Love the 440 ! The charger stripe would look great. Stay with close to the factory green and a white stripe. Green interior with old school plaid inserts. You could powder coat the wheels to match the stripe.
Mr heater box up here in Canada re does the guage cluster with a volt meter conversion, in white if you so choose. Dash pads are OEM parts as far as I know. Very cool that you are keeping the 440. Windage tray for sure as she will suck all the oil outa the pan... 440 source down your side of the border will be a great resource, you can get a mile maker kit for the np 203 that converts to part time. I'm building a 78 powerwagon 100 short box right now, 440, my greatest area of concern personally is the 5x4.5 shafts won't like all that power very much, I'm doing an axle swap ... Fun project guys.
I like the Resto Mods Colors red, white or light grey & black if they can be incorporated maybe the resto mod logo where the bumblebee goes on the stripe.
paint & body, two tone it. red & white, green & white, whatever. but powder coat the roll bar to match. maybe fab up some half doors to use when you take the top off.
excellent decision keeping the 440. my vote for the drivetrain is get lakewood bellhousing 15335 and put a nv4500 in there, hang a 205 on the back and you'll really have something. You'll have to fabricate a hydraulic clutch setup out of the factory manual parts but I think that would be a great video itself, something not already done 100 times on youtube should likely address the axles too, if they are original, the factory unit bearing design in the front is not awesome. preferably a Dana60 front but a 44 might live too, just get one with manual locking hubs and no CAD (central axle disconnect). the rear 9.25 is ok but a 440 could trash it pretty easily, and its a C clip design. the upgrade is a Dana 60 but requires the switch to 8 bolt which is never a bad idea. for the suspension, I'd love to see you guys switch out the leaf springs for longer stuff. typically you move the rear 52 inch springs to the front with custom hangers and run 63 inch leaves in the back with more custom hangers, makes a better ride and more flex. this is also something not seen a bunch on youtube. honestly, if you want to bring in more subscribers, do something better than everyone else building pretty stuff that isn't functional
Owned a 74 79 and 84 miss them all. I'd run 37's with the 440 with road armor bumpers. As far as paint matte plum crazy would give it the resto mod look.
Medium flat grey with gloss black top, grille, mirrors, bumpers and wheels. Do the Mopar stripe in gloss black as well. Interior can be black and grey or all black.
I owned a late 70's ram truck that always had wiring issues and instrument problems. I think it was a 78 or 79 model. I hope you keep the matte black finish on it, NO CHROME!! Wish I could be there to help but I would just get in the way. I have not worked on any cars or trucks in 40 or more years. Just an old man's dreams. LOL, This is going to be a dam good video series.
A supercharger or turbocharger system on top of that 440 would be a pile of "down n dirty" fun for sure. Keep up the great work on all of your projects; they're definitely top notch!
Good call on keeping the 440! Color suggestion, and it's a more modern Chrysler color, inferno red crystal pearl with a silver R/T stripe around the back BUT instead of R/T have it R/C.
I had a 78 440 ram charger. Loved that truck! I would love to see this in one of the original two-tone paint schemes…either light blue and white or orange and white. Color match the block accordingly. 😁
A gun metal grey would look absolutely rad on this Ramcharger. Definitely glad y'all are sticking with the 440; there is so much room for improvement with that motor. I'll be closely following this build for sure! Keep up the great work guys!
Leave color, reinforcement in doors, maybe a plate, so family is safe. Looks like a good vehicle to take a cruise down the beach or go baha out in the desert, maybe extra protection in the rear seating for any little ones that wanna have fun too. Bed area looks like a great place for a seat for the family hound, maybe some compartments that pop up like the fords bedside for snacks, beverages and lots of pup-eroni's. Maybe some kinda terminator deal that pops up from the center console with a switch for any terminator style devices that might be needed. Make it beefy but easy to repair in the field if needed
I think you should go dark blue like how rm 13 was originally with matte black stripes down the middle and the dodge charger door indents would like really cool since it is a ram charger.
I used to have one an timing was just bad on a rebuild, son was born an all extra money was gone. Loved that ride mine was penny brown, with a rebuilt 318 supped up to 340. My suggestion on color is deep cobolt blue color, with the white stripe along the bed an top. With tan cloth interior, I've seen one with these colors "nice".
Sublime Lime Green or Go Mango Orange with satin Black POWERWAGON LOGOS, Paint the top to match the body tub. Also add an aftermarket hood of some sort painted satin Black also
Def keep the 440 and the body color is sweet. Keep the color. Honestly, I'll take what you want to give me. Love you're restores. I really need this truck in my life.
keep with mopar color sassy grass green or plum crazy purple with the stripe ,also is the transfer case a fulltime 4x4 if so i would change it so it can be shift in 2wd. 440 for sure..
Sticking with the original 440 is a perfect idea but the only two things I would do with that would be hard topic like a ramcharger should be and to go with the four speed floor shifted transmission that would be awesome
This is the first I’ve seen of your content but you guys definitely know what’s good. I’m gonna go scour your page for updates on this because I have to see more. Rarely do you see a ramcharger get the love that blazers and broncos get on a restomod, and as a mopar guy this is gonna be good for the soul to follow.
Drop it low, make it handle and a awd handler keep the stock engine add gear minded that'll give it 6 speeds, chrome everything outside, put a hardtop on it.paint it blue candy rhino line the back floor, sound proof it, French chrome bumpers front and rear, add a receiver hitch. Make it eye catching , low and fast, put a/c
I've had to replace a couple of these dashes and the only way that I was able to find it was in a junkyard and got lucky also had to rewire one with a wrong year wiring harness and I had to color coordinate all of the wires they were different colors and had to read the schematics when I first turned on the blinkers the horn went on when I first turned on the headlights the windshield wipers went on but I finally got it figured out
Same thing with the drive-line Go through the transmission front to back, don't cut corners on it, New internals, and new torque converter ! The same with the transfer case ! You should be able to find a solid sponsor for both ! New heavy duty u-joints front to back !
If that center console is original, it probably has a drain in the bottom of it. Mine does, with a drain tube that goes through the floor, because it was designed to pull double duty as a cooler. It even has some neoprene glued to the inside.

Color gunmetal Grey and black
It has to be RED
Destroyer Gray
I actually dig the current color
We're still trying to decide 🤔

The matte black is cool. A gun metal gray with black charger strip would be awesome!
Plum crazy purple with black stripe on back black rims and powder coat roll bar purple

Paint it deep cherry red
Nice brother God bless from Canada eh i love it The year i was born 75 good year! Like fine wine get's better with age
for the color make it FIRE -MIST RED
paint & body, two tone it. red & white, green & white, whatever. but powder coat the roll bar to match. maybe fab up some half doors to use when you take the top off.
Classic two-tone orange and white with Paxton supercharger.
That would be the ultimate combo
Keep the 727 if it's in good shape. Don't go to a 4L80E. If you change the trans, go to a tremec or something better.
Now here's a man with some knowledge 😎
I want it period
❤
My 1975 Dodge was smashed this would be a great replacement

LED lighting on the underside to cast light onto the ground for safety approaching the truck at night.
Owned a 74 79 and 84 miss them all. I'd run 37's with the 440 with road armor bumpers. As far as paint matte plum crazy would give it the resto mod look.
Starburst Blue
Medium flat grey with gloss black top, grille, mirrors, bumpers and wheels. Do the Mopar stripe in gloss black as well. Interior can be black and grey or all black.
I love the Matt black look. Really beefy, stealth looking. No stripes, just simple.

Bad ass truck. Who ever gets it is gona be so happy great job guys keep it up🧑🔧

🔥🔥 DEFIITELY sounds like fun ;)
Go with two step, rocker step, to be able to into this beast. I'm kind of short. Thanks guys
Love it!!
This truck is going to be amazing, PERFECT. I could just see my little daughter and I cruising the Wyoming brush in this truck !!! Fingers crossed !!!
Nice build
Should paint it plum crazy purple with the hood flat black.
You're in San Diego guys. Give it a military (Marine Corps) look.. A flat FDE or ODG with black trim and wheels
With the stripe. Awesome!
Good call on keeping the 440! Color suggestion, and it's a more modern Chrysler color, inferno red crystal pearl with a silver R/T stripe around the back BUT instead of R/T have it R/C.
Ooooh an R/C badge could be cool for sure.
So stoked to see this "RamRide" transformation. 😎
Transfer case I have to say
GO NP205, gear to gear (not a low low low range) but good enough for what’s being built
I've got the NP205 in my '75 Chevy, it's almost indestructible.
@@joeking2081 great transfer case ! 💯 agree with you
Looking for that "RamRide" Restoration! Will be awesome! 😋
Coming soon! 😉
This truck is going to be wicked cool! Great that you are keeping the 440,those engines are killer 👍🏻
Keeping the 440 was a great decision. I Hemi Orange or Plum Crazy Purple would be good choices for color
Plum Crazy Purple 🤔🤔
@@RestoMods what's the reply below this one

very nice!!
I had a 78 440 ram charger. Loved that truck! I would love to see this in one of the original two-tone paint schemes…either light blue and white or orange and white. Color match the block accordingly. 😁
looking forward to this !
Great choice to keep the 440 you guys are awesome can't wait to see how this thing turns out
We're super excited to see how this comes along.
A gun metal grey would look absolutely rad on this Ramcharger. Definitely glad y'all are sticking with the 440; there is so much room for improvement with that motor. I'll be closely following this build for sure! Keep up the great work guys!
Super excited to see where end up!
It would be great for surf fishing along the Outer Banks and Southern Outer Banks of North Carolina...! You guys and gals do great work!! Period...

As far as exhaust, you should go with a borla cat back. Would sound awesome
Its going to be an awesome truck! Strip, Yes!!! Keep doing what you guys do best.
I love the rear stripe idea. High Impact Colors….EF6 Green, Hemi Orange, Plum Crazy, or FJ6 Green Go.
I think you should go dark blue like how rm 13 was originally with matte black stripes down the middle and the dodge charger door indents would like really cool since it is a ram charger.

I still vote to put some high-quality King Shocks all around to make it more capable off road.
I Love a medium to dark blue...Have Fun guys!
Personally adding a huge carbon fiber nut and I think adding a forged carbon fiber look to that paint job would look amazing
YEAH LIKE THE STRIPE ON BACK MAKE'S IT LOOK SWEET FOR SURE
Navy gray body with black rims & black grill & bumpers - go restomods team 👍👍
Cool truck! I like the Charger stripe idea. And the 440.
I like the flat black❤❤. I was going to say add a winch! Maybe some silver / blue details
That's gonna be sick once you guys are done!
Macho powerwagon paint scheme or new powerwagon paint scheme. Use ramcharger though instead of powerwagon.
Paint it red with polished aluminum slotted wheels
Sublime Lime Green or Go Mango Orange with satin Black POWERWAGON LOGOS, Paint the top to match the body tub. Also add an aftermarket hood of some sort painted satin Black also
Side locking compartments on the exterior back
I say keep it the same color and finish, kinda dig the blackout treatment
7:38 my suggestion is to replace ALL glass w/ polycarbonate lenses to make it lighter nd maybe some carbon fiber @RestoMods
Paint it the 1970 Dark green with copper stripes. Top copper.
Sounds like a dope idea! will definitely give it some thought 🤔
This truck brought me to the channel and I love it for that as well as I just love a good well cared for classic truck
Plumb purple (matte)
Brush guard/grill guard with a 10K winch!
Can't wait to see this project take shape - redoing an 80 RC 360 4x4 with my son right now!
Really digging the build. I have yet to own a Dodge and this would be a fun one.
Def keep the 440 and the body color is sweet. Keep the color. Honestly, I'll take what you want to give me. Love you're restores. I really need this truck in my life.
Go with the 205 transfer case and locking hubs on the front. Would make a much better driver.
Gotta go with plum crazy purple!!
Leave the Ram on the hood. Everyone does blacked out units. Put some shine on the beast.yes to the stripe.
We'll keep that in mind!
I had one in high school back in 1990, cool ride! Can’t wait to see how it turns out.
Time for another one? 👌👌
Im so excited to see the final product!
Let's try sapphire blue as I mentioned earlier
I can't wait to drive it
Gunmetal grey gloss with black detail
Do a rear disc brake conversion. Paint the body a darker metallic blue and the top a pearl white metallic.
Awesome feedback; will definitely keep that in mind! 🙌
keep with mopar color sassy grass green or plum crazy purple with the stripe ,also is the transfer case a fulltime 4x4 if so i would change it so it can be shift in 2wd. 440 for sure..
A real good decision about 440 that reminds me the truck I just got rid of I had a 90 model Dodge pick up truck W1 50
🙏🙏🙏🙏
Sticking with the original 440 is a perfect idea but the only two things I would do with that would be hard topic like a ramcharger should be and to go with the four speed floor shifted transmission that would be awesome
Appreciate the feedback David!! Some really insightful info there! 🙌
Luv that truck..
we do too!💯

Very cool truck. I am a huge fan of canary yellow and add the matte black striping. It would look really good with the black tires
Yellow would be something crazy
Plum crazy with Super-Bee Stipe. Good choice on the 440. Winch is good! Audio system for sure. Upgrade suspension is a must!
A big side logo like the old Power Wagon one could be cool in the rear It could be really close to the body color so its not so in your face.
Black Multicam or FDE Rhino Liner!
What if we did both
Army green or a dark olive green color with a black top would be sick
Drop it low, make it handle and a awd handler keep the stock engine add gear minded that'll give it 6 speeds, chrome everything outside, put a hardtop on it.paint it blue candy rhino line the back floor, sound proof it, French chrome bumpers front and rear, add a receiver hitch. Make it eye catching , low and fast, put a/c
Do granite crystal for the paint ditch the ram on the hood as its not stock to the year and chrome grille
Love it!❤
Camo green
I think the guys over at Icon in Chatsworth CA have a really good locking center console.
Thanks for the input! Will definitely give them a look.

Thanks for the tip Eric! Appreciate the help
I would love to have that truck , again paint it FIRE - MIST RED
Same thing with the drive-line
Go through the transmission front to back, don't cut corners on it,
New internals, and new torque converter !
The same with the transfer case !
You should be able to find a solid sponsor for both !
New heavy duty u-joints front to back !
A mild stall would really make that thing launch hard.
That Dodge Challenger purple color!
Two tone black and red with white stripes
