Hi Doc, a quick note to thank you and your channel. Your enthusiasm in gardening up is super contagious - it made me buy 50+ pots (all planted now: lets see) and start a balcony garden for our flat. Thank you also for editing well - your vids are the crispest of the lot. And thank you for your voice & accent. Combined, the good content, your V&A, and smooth editing make your videos eminently watchable. So much so that you have almost become the Shaakambari guiding my garden. Do keep posting.
Hey guys, I'd suggest using filtered, distilled or rainwater. Tap water generally contains a lot of fluorine and chlorine which isn't good for your plant. If you must use tap water, then store the tap water for about 24-48 hours and let the fluorine and chlorine evaporate before using it. But best would be drinking water, it contains all the nutrients needed for your plant ^-^ TL;DR: use filtered/drinking water, not tap water
Thanks for this tip! Been using tap water and I know it’s hard water and contains chlorine etc. So this really helps because it’s been slowly gettin bad and I was wondering what I was doing wrong!
This was very informative. I have have 7 stems, 2 that I’ve luckily kept alive for around 7 months, 1 that I got last week, 3 that I got in an arrangement today and another one that I bought today as well. They’re the only indoor plant I’ve been able to keep alive
Thank you so much. I’m a new lucky bamboo owner. I didn’t have a transparent vase so I wasn’t able to see if I was giving it a consistent amount of water and wasn’t changing it every ten days. I also left it near the window instead of shade.
Thank you for this video. I saw today a store near me selling lots of lucky bamboo but I wanted to read about it first before buying any. I will get some very soon as I love plants that clean the air!
Thank you for these tips. I love lucky bamboo and for their luck. I got a small stock and wanted to propagate it. I didn’t know that the wax stopped it from growing upwards. Thank you for teaching me how to propagate with better tricks.

I got my first lucky bamboo almost 1.5 years back and now it's growing fucking amazing. A little story - when I got it i put it in the living room as a decoration piece, there was no source of natural sunlight and after a few months bamboo sticks started to rot and leaves started turning yellow, after losing 4 to 5 Bamboo sticks i decided to transfer it into soil and believe me that was the best decision I made so far ❤️
See, the molten wax doesn't prevent the vertical growth. It prevents the moisture loss & infection getting into the plant by that open wound. It just seals the open wound. Even if you're not using the wax, it will always grow sideways, that's the place where you will find the node.

In India tap water is usually fresh water straight from a well which is why she recommended it

My lucky bamboo is in soil pot and its outdoor in direct sunlight. Its growing well and happy 😊 he is 1.5 years old now!
I love how simply yet comprehensively you explain things!
I don’t understand how you can overwater the plant when in soil, but it also is fine in only water.
Soil contains much more bacteria that cause root rot. Presence of oxygen is also a factor in soil. There is no oxygen under the water.

Basically the plant would be okay to an extent and then the plant equivelent of mold starts growing and kills it
