    Why cut the main stalk part just to cut off the new growth from it anyway? Meaning, why not just cut off the new growth and leave the stem?

    • @jasonscofield8029
      @jasonscofield8029 Год назад +1

      I'm also wondering why you are just throwing away part of the stalk? Why not just cut the new growth off the stalk?

      i think it’s to activate the lower growth nodes to grow a new stem

      @@MildTimes Is right! Cutting the upper parts of the main stem will activate the lower growth nodes. Its similar to how pruning encourages new growth.

    Hi, I need a shorter lucky bamboo. But as soon as I trim the stem short, the plant turns yellow overtime. How do I get a shorter lucky bamboo without killing it?

    I have lucky bamboo in my fish tank that is getting too tall. Can I take a cutting and replant directly inside the fishtank. It will be completely submerged is that OK when propagating?

    Will the stalks get thicker with the cuttings? The cuttings have roots but skinny stalks

    First thank you for sharing your knowledge. I recently purchased 2 lucky bamboo plants from a local Asian grocery store two weeks before the Chinese new year. I put both of them in a vase of water, but just found out from your video that I should not use tap water. My plants are more than 3 ft tall and have leaves just on the upper part. I will try to propagate these plants. Again thank you.

    Really helpful thankyou. The top part of the stem that's the curly part went yellow but the leaves were all green so I cut the leaves off like you did and cut the stem below the curly bit where it straightened up. I have both in water now.the stem and the leaves. Will these both still grow roots. I cut the stem closer to the node though and not halfway.does this matter?I will remember too change the water this time. I still have 1 really healthy bamboo which has loads of what looks like brown stumps for the beginning of aerial roots like I've seen on my monstera. Wondering if this is what they are?

    Hello, I also have a lucky bamboo and unfortunately I don't know what to do. It has now grown over 1.5m and unfortunately I don't know how to cut it off because it has grown 2 more shoots at the bottom and they are the same size. Should I cut all 3 trunks to 0.5m?

    Why not just cut the branches off instead of the main stem which you discard after removing the branch? Also, does the stem continue to grow or only the branches? I only notice that my branches are growing rapidly and not the actually stem/actual "bamboo."

      I use cinnamon. And it doesn’t fall off the plant when you put it in water, a little bit does but for the most part it stays on the ends of plant where you put the cinnamon on. Just make sure whatever cinnamon you’re using doesn’t have added ingredients like sugar, make sure it is pure cinnamon. It’s a natural growth hormone and it keeps bacteria, mold and all of that crap away.

      @@Asdfgqedfglo can it be used for other plants as well?

    • @Asdfgqedfglo
      @Asdfgqedfglo Год назад +1

      @@amoramor3712 yes! Anytime you’re going to propagate or if you just trim an old leaf off your plant you can put cinnamon on it to prevent any type of bacteria from growing. And you can grab any type of cinnamon as long as there’s no added ingredients. I usually go to the dollar store and grab some.
