Great video! I have the G7. Just got it at the beginning of this month and have filmed and uploaded my last 3 videos in 4k to my channel so far. All i have is the 14-42mm kit lens. But it has been doing a great job. With all that being said. My plan is to return it and upgrade to the G85 because I really want IBIS and the weather sealing would be nice. In my last VLOG I just uploaded I went hiking through the snow to some hot springs and I dropped my camera in the snow a few times lol.
Thanks! I'll check out your latest videos to see the footage you got with the G7, but the G85 just going on sale a few days ago really makes it even *more* tempting. The IBIS does wonders for handheld shots.

I already buy Lumix g7, but very disappointed with the image stabilization for video.. any suggestion to solve this problem? Or whether i need to buy g85 instead? Thanks man
Great video. I'm looking for a good camera, depending on my needs. But I have to look forward my futur needs. Stabilization is the key ! do you need it or not. Thanks for your excellent comparison.
Thank you - for stabilization I guess it's what you're shooting most often. It's a noticeable improvement in the G85 but not a deal breaker in my opinion for the G7, if you don't want to pay the $300+ extra for the G85.
foXnoMad You said that you could put the camera into service mode to avoid the 30 minute recording limitation. I was curious whether or not the same method could be used on the G9, which also has a 30 minute limit. I am also curious if the service mode has any affect on other camera functions or not.
So i have the G7 that i use for al my video's. I have the 12-35 f2.8 mark I lens that i use on it. I really mis the stabilization from the camera. So is it really a upgrade to buy a G85? Also the image quality? Is it that much better than the G7 or is it similar? Hopefully the DUAL IS works also with the Mark I lens i use.
I could not watch your vid until the end because i watched it in the gym while doing cardio. I could barely hear your voice because it was so quiet but the soind fx where so loud all the people looked at me. Use a kompressor or a limiter to make your audio all on the same level and it will be much easier to watch your videos
Hey man so I have the G7 and I dont have the attachments for the strap, the little dongals at the end I dont know what they are called, but I want to get a strapg for my G7, what strap do you have attached to the G85? you have recommendations, I got my camera with 2 lens for 500.00 and it was an amazing deal, I just dont have a strap for it. :/

The G85 is the better overall camera but it's a matter of cost vs. benefit on the G7. If you're doing a lot of tripod shots, then G7 should be good enough. But if you have time on the purchase, take a few weeks, I've seen the G85 drop to G7 prices, in that case, it's the much better deal.

As for the stabilization, the G85 was superior in all the tests I did. Not sure what you mean by rotation?
Wtf man? A pretty interesting video but the sound bips waste everything! Watch your videos before posting it!
Check out something more recent, it's gotten mildly better ;) ruclips.net/video/wTBRZ1wPMDc/видео.html
OMG your talking sound is not loud enough and the sound effects & music are just ear rape
The loud sound effects were awful, especially since your voice is so low in comparison. I had to stop watching
I've learned a thing or two about audio since this video but have follow up on both cameras after a few years. You might find these useful (and easier on the ears):

too loud
nice video fam, everyone needs to relax obviously he knows the music is loud, he wont make the same mistake again. Get off his back
Once the rotten music started, I figured you don't know what you are talking about and exited.
...you mean you figured I didn't know what I was talking about, left a comment, then exited.
Iphone 6 cam beats both on budget/quality. Was thinking about g85, now thinking about iphone.
wrong neither G7 nor G85 do not shoot cinema 4k video, only up to UHD 4K.
Picture wise the G7 is not impressive at all. I tried FZ1000 and compared to the G7 photos are amazing.
skip this one. waste of time
Terrible sound. Had to stop watching.
Sorry about that. I've made quite a few new videos since then, I think there's been an improvement.
