    Thanks for posting these!! Coincidentally I bought an Ainavi unit for my 2020 Toyota Corolla before I found your channel. Your 360° camera videos motivated me to take the dive and do the same to my car. I'm glad to say the project is done! Your videos were a great reference and extremely useful during the install process. Some notes about my journey:
    * I was able to pry the side mirror glass out without damaging it. Not sure why yours was so stubborn. The plastic shroud was a pain to pry off. I recommend keeping the mirrors mounted on the car until the plastic covers are off, just to get leverage. Since I was able to get the mirror fully apart, I did drill the hole on the bottom to install the cameras. It turned out great!
    * The adhesive keeping the rear camera attached was worn down in my car, so it was easy to peel off. I installed the camera in the same spot as the old one.
    * I had a tough time poking a hole through the firewall for the front camera. I bought the same type of pokey tool, but ended up pushing the rubber seal loose before I was able to poke a hole through it, so I just snaked the wire through the gap. I pulled the seal shut as much as I could, but I'll probably revisit it in the future.
    Did the calibration this morning and still working on tweaking it to fix the distortion etc, but overall it looks great. Thanks for documenting your journey, your videos are very well made and I'm glad you made them.
    Btw what CANBUS protocol is selected in your head unit? My next/prev song buttons are reversed and SWC key learning isn't working. The seller recommended changing the CANBUS protocol, but none stood out to me as the correct one. Currently it's set to 2019 CAMRY.

      Wow! Thanks for sharing your experience! This is pin worthy! Awesome that you installed your side mirrors properly, not sure why mine was so difficult. Glad theirs a 2020 out there that isn't as notorious lol. I was literally bending the whole mirror in half and prying out each latch without success. I might come back to it but not anytime soon. There's a lot of things I want to do better next time when I'm not in a frustrated state lol. Yes if you do see some gaps in your seal you can always use gasket silicone which I had done in my 2010. Just prevent gases leaking into your cabin. My CANBUS is set to "Raise - Toyota - 16908289 Toyota All". I did have that reversed button issue but solved it with the Canbus key learning. Everything else has been working fine. We'll have to see how the whole thing performs in the Canadian winters... Cheers

      Hello guys.
      I installed an AINAVI 13.1 inch on my Corolla SE 2021 and I bought four WDR cameras 1080 25FPS.
      If you want I can teach you how to pass the wires through the doors.
      Also a better way to install the mirrors cameras ( I bought a tool to shape the holes on the rearview mirrors caps) or you can just buy a caps on Taobao that already comes with the holes but anyway mines looks OEM or better I would say.
      I also can teach you how to calibrate the cameras better so that when you activate the 3D camera it doesn't look so distorted.
      I can also show you how to buy the corolla version from the store, it cost like .50 cents so it’s free 😂.
      The front camera I also can show you how to install it better than OEM 😂and I used a black silicone and it’s hard to see that there is a front camera on my car.
      I bought the radio after I watched your video so that’s why it would be an honor to explain you all this, I can show you a video so you can see.
      I even configure the steering wheel button named: mode so when I press it it launch the AVM app.
      So tell me and we can talk via mail and I would record a video so you can see.

    Hey guys, just want to say thanks to everyone watching these videos. It was a tough one. I'm a bit disappointed that not everything went to plan. I wasn't able to show you the typical method of installing the side cameras into the mirror. As well as the snaking the cable through the doors. If you guys managed to do it, please share your tips and experiences in the comments! Hope to make a follow up video to correct these if they work! Enjoy the video! 😁

    Hey man i gotta say i absolutely love your videos. i was looking for weeks for an aftermarket HU for my 2014 Mazda 6, and your videos helped me a lot! I went with the ainavi v6, which is a slightly different form factor but same specs as the one you bought. I am currently waiting for it to arrive, and oh boy am i excited to install this in my car, if you though the toyota entune is bad, you never seen an old Mazda infotainment screen... Although i am not planning to install the 360 camera system in my car (besides, the v6 doesnt support it anyway), but those videos are still very fun to watch. Keep up with the good work!

      Thanks! :-) I'll have to check again when I have the H5/H6 connected back in. I think they have some similar looking suv models available and definitely to purchase but I wouldn't put too much emphasis on it. Surprisingly I've noticed the Rav4 is super popular and supported by almost all Android Units... More so than the Corolla! Cheers

    hey again. not sure if I missed it in the video, but I wanted to ask about the performance of it in the summer? Has the Ainavi been giving you any problems in terms of cooling since it doesn't have a built in fan? I'd say it's the only thing stopping me from buying the head unit since I'm cognizant of it breaking in the heat. The carplay to android auto wireless adapter I had started glitching after leaving it in the heat. Thanks!
    P.S. Also I love your videos. I have the same car with the same trim and your videos help me from fumbling in the dark since I know nothing about cars. Not only is it informational, your videos also have great production and editing. Its so easy to understand for a beginner like me. Thanks for making these videos!

    • @squishyhammer
      @squishyhammer  3 месяца назад +2

      Yup I've been testing it in the summer heat from 27c to 32c temperatures, I don't really use my AC that much (crazy I know) so usually my windows are cracked open. I haven't had any crashes or reboots at all yet (using Android Auto 99% of the time). I do know it gets hot to the touch on the backside. They do sell dedicated fans on AliExpress for these Chinese Android Headunits (last time I saw it was only $8 CAD) and it uses an adapter that fits the USB pins on the back (while still letting you use the USB port). In this video I actually forget to put back the frame around the unit which I thought to myself if let open it could actually help circulate some air maybe. Something to consider. Thanks for your words bro! Glad to share the knowledge! It's super rewarding. Cheers

    Great job! A 360 camera setup is also on the top of my wish list along with an android head unit but that will be a future thing 😅 i just installed the symphony rgb kit which i can recommend if you want to add ambient lights 👍 just only bought the 2 in 1 for testing and was so impressed that i ordered additional strips 😃

    Hello squishy hammer , im just curious why you use 10 cm distance on front and rear? Instead of 20cm front and 30 cm rear? You didnt explain why?

  • @Roman-cz3ws
    @Roman-cz3ws 3 месяца назад +1

    Good work so far!👍 the cable connector between the body is really hard to get out. I did it on the rear door for the dashcam. The connector itself can be modified so that your cable fits there and the connector is still firmly in place. To get the connector out, you have to press it outwards from the inside of the vehicle on the edge. There are 4 small holding points. Then you can easily loosen the connection between the two connector halves.😉

      That's a real good bit of info! I can imagine those clips next to the driver / passenger doors. The only part is trying to reach in there as I was literally turning into a pretzel. Thanks for sharing that 😁 I might try again after I get some good rest from all this lol

    Kit should include better OEM integrating parts such as for the side mirror. This should be standard safety feature by Toyota.

      @squishyhammer  2 месяца назад

      @wayneching92 unfortunately no it's still a mystery, the ones I purchased were the standard 1080p ones. I do remember seeing the Sony sensors specifically for a more heftier price but decided not to. Cheers

      @@squishyhammer I know sometimes they have markings on the camera case, near where the cable is coming out of the camera, could you have a look and see if there are any markings theres? Also love your video, never knew about AiNAVI and also now makes me want to install a 360 camera as well :)

    • @squishyhammer
      @squishyhammer  2 месяца назад

      @wayneching92 so I just took a look at the spare cameras I have, unfortunately there are no markings of any sort (was looking for any fine print or imprints) which I would too think there would be. These camera kits are very factory generic, possibly not to infringe on any brand by labeling it... possibly. Thanks for watching! I'll be coming out with another review of a Dasaita head unit next month maybe you can wait for that. Cheers

      @@squishyhammer thanks so much for the reply. As I am quite time poor, I would only slowly be able to install the cameras, any idea if I could just install only the back one first, which will work as my reverse camera, then I slowly install the rest of the cameras over a course of some time? Thanks!

    • @squishyhammer
      @squishyhammer  2 месяца назад

      @@wayneching92 For sure! I drove around with just the reverse for a while. Since you haven't bought your Android Head Unit yet, I'd suggest just fishing the wires first. Don't mount your 360 reverse camera yet as it would probably get in the way of your oem camera while you're still using it. cheers

    • @squishyhammer

      To install these aftermarket 360 cameras - yes. You'll require an Android head unit that supports 360 functionality using the 12-pin connector. Cheers

      @squishyhammer  24 дня назад

      I should also mention they do sell standalone 360 modules that require an external monitor and/or hooks up with your oem reverse video feed however they are often not as great and costs almost as much as a new HUD

      On AliExpress search for "360 camera car android" there are plenty of sellers for the 1080p kit such as www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005948652883.html . I would first definitely ask your android headunit manufacturer if an aftermarket 360 camera kit is supported for your model. You should also check if you have a 360 View App pre-installed as well as if you have a 12-pin connector at the back of your unit. Cheers

    Hi, are you able to automatically record the footage like a dashcam?

    • @squishyhammer
      @squishyhammer  2 месяца назад

      I wouldn't depend on it being a dedicated dashcam. It doesn't automatically start unless you hit record when opening the DVR app. I haven't toyed too much with it but it does record all 4 views into one video stream pretty well. On the other side it doesn't allow you to record just one view. It only allows you tap to isolate one camera to take still photos. Would be better if they included that option in a future update to record video a specific camera like the front camera. Even so, I'd keep my dedicated 4k dashcam separate for bandwidth sake. I'll be coming out soon with a Dasaita dashcam review in case you're interested. Cheers

      @@thetarrpit The 360 cameras are inherently fish-eyed the panorama 360 app probably doesn't allow much adjustment for a single cam unless the software can create views like at 26:50 . Like you said it may require all to be installed depending on your app. Cheers
