Sukuna exploited as much of jujutsu sorcery as he could, every loophole, every advantage. Sukuna is the epitome of what jujutsu sorcery is. So while gojo was alone, sukuna wasn't. Sukuna didn't have that same "infinite" distance between himself and others. Which led to sukuna winning. It's kinda poetic ngl. At first glance you'd think sukuna is the lonely one but if you look closer sukuna is probably one of the least lonely characters in jjk. You even see it in how the two treat their opponents differently.
No one could ever understand Gojo. Gojo had no equal . Geto was the only one who understood Gojo, because at one time they were equals. Gojo cares about people and to Sukuna that shows weakness. Gojo explains why he felt lonely. Sukuna only values strength and he's pure evil , he only loves killing and eating. Someone who is that evil could NEVER experience loneliness. because they'll never experience loss.
