    Chamomile , Nasturtiums, and chrysanthemums as garden veg. companion plants. Old fashioned scented carnations , zinnias and delphiniums for cutting.

    how awesome! a few weeks ago, i started basil, thyme, lavender and chives indoors just because i wanted fresh herbs. As of today, i have a few thyme sprouts and 1 lil baby lavender sprout. So glad to hear thyme is a perennial, i bought some lemon thyme at a herb festival last year. Glad it will be back this year.

    Do ppl still call pansy’s Funny Faces? That’s the only name I knew them by back in the 1940’s❤️

      I haven't heard that, but the wholesalers I use always describe them as blotch" faces" or plain "faces" so maybe!

    Great video! You mention that a lot of these need to be started indoors? Does this have to do with the zone? I am in Southern California and I wanted to directly sow some of these. Zone 9 or 10 to be exact . Thank you in advance.

      Hi! Yes, indoor starts for colder climates. Is it already warm where you live? I wish it was warm here! We just had a cold spell where the night time temps were getting down to 12 degrees!

      Hi yes the coldest we get is high 30s. A few times it dips below freezing. I live about 1 East or LA and about 2 hours north of San Diego . Can’t complain about the weather 🤣. Currently a chilly 57

    Beautiful video. But seems doesn't apply to my zone 8b/9a. That's okay. i am 'winter sowing' plant seeds that work for my zone. Have a great year.

      I assume you are in a much colder climate since I’m looking at three pots of beautiful yellow pansies right now. Happy Gardening!

      Hi, I live in NY zone 7. The information in this video should be close for your area as well as it focuses on seeds that need a longer time to germinate/grow out or plants that can be planted out before the last frost. What zone are you? My pansies, sadly, are hidden by snow currently but it should melt soon, lol.

      I’m zone 7b in far north central Texas. This is a new area for us and new growing zone. Thank you for this beautiful, informative video. I built my seed growing station last week & have started some lettuces, and other cold weather crops that won’t enjoy our hot summer. Looking to flowers now and have many ideas thanks to you.

      Hi, Here is a Link to Johnny's Seeds. I buy many of my seeds from them. They still have them in stock, but you do have to pay shipping unless you are buying a lot of seeds! Hope this helps!

    • @uptosomething6271
      @uptosomething6271  6 месяцев назад

      Starting seeds indoors is more for colder areas, but if you live somewhere sunny and warm, you can start your seeds outdoors! Of course, indoor seed starting is good if you live in a very hot, dry climate climate you may benefit from indoor seed starting as well.
