I have no idea how anyone would be offended by you saying what you did. I think it's just people with too much time on their hands. People really need to calm down.
I'm Diné (Navajo) and I can understand why people see that as offensive because Natives get so appropriated by people and in terms of "chiefs", everyone wears headdresses these days, thinking it's okay and it is not. Cultural appropriation has (and in my opinion) should be a sensitive subject that people should really think critically about. That being said, I don't think what Katy said was in any way offensive, she just repeated what her father said. She needed commentary about the necklace because it is a haul and I suppose that's what came to her mind. I don't speak on behalf of natives and perhaps her father's comment came from a ignorant place and she didn't have to repeat it but I've been watching Katy for years and I have never once seen her appropriate culture or be all around, unapologeticly ignorant as many other beauty bloggers are.

***** I'm not full Native American but there isn't many people in the US that doesn't have some Native American in them. All the was said was it looks like a headpiece. Nothing harmful was meant by it. It was just a comparison and nothing more.
Although I am not Native American, it is difficult for you to be able to speak for everyone who watched the video and heard the comment. It is not your place to speak for others and how they should handle the remark. Personal experiences and biases shape how we react and feel in these situations. Please don't assume!

Did she just delete the comment criticising her "indian chief" comment? I'm really disappointed in her. It's okay to make mistakes but you have to own up to them and not just ignore valid, polite criticism. If you've built a whole channel and following around preaching acceptance, you have to apologise when you make comments which make some people feel unaccepted.

I have that same issue with my duvet. And I figured out that if I safety pin the corners, with really good quality safety pins so they won't pop off, it works! Just an idea!
