Good video. Corvette was always meant to be mid engine. They came close to doing it multiple times but it didn’t work out until now. Zoras last wish when he retired was to make a mid engine corvette. So if anything the new corvette is the fulfillment of what the corvette vision was from the beginning.

Exactly my point. Too many people saying the opposite

Corvette had already been looking at mid engine for a while, and the current front engine V-8 was approaching the end of its development. Already huge horsepower, but the front engine rear wheel drive is not optimal. At least for sheer performance.
There is a very good reason they went mid engine C8

Size restrictions on visibility by having it in the front was another huge issue to push to mid engine

    Awesome video!
I’ve never understood why the very people who benefit the most from a car company that’s at least trying to bring supercar performance to the masses, are the ones whining the most about this car. The guys who can afford supercars couldn’t care less about the Z06. I think at least part of it are haters thinking; “If I can’t have it, then no one else should have it either, so I’m gonna trash it ”. The whole thing just doesn’t make sense to me.

Yes, I agree. I like a lot of super cars - all have my respect for different reasons. The only cars I hate on are Teslas, and specifically the Cybertruck - for a multitude of reasons. But, I do it more for jest, and encourage people to buy whatever gives them joy (or fulfills their sense of A to B transportation).

@ I’m the same way… I love all performance cars. They all add something to the mix. I even like electric cars… (shhhh… but don’t tell anyone). 🤣

    Mid engine was long overdue.

Much like the front engined Ferrari, while great in its time, had to evolve or die.

Yes, exactly. The only reason why they didn’t do it sooner was GMs penny pinching and the federal restrictions on monopolies imposed. They were prepared to cut Chevrolet all together.

"Jaw dropping design" is laughable. The fact is that it is ugly and looks like a Ssanyong/Kya/Hunday design. It's a shame given that previous generations looked so much better.

Thanks for your comment. I don't think that it's ugly is a fact. It's totally your opinion and you're entitled to that. I do agree that the older generations look really good. I think this was a very Ferrari-esque design with sharp edges. By no means, ugly, in my opinion, or in a lot of people's opinions.
