Classic Ray Stevens song! Brought back so many memories for me. My grandma used to have a Ray Stevens cassette tape and when my brothers and cousin and I would go visit her we would play that tape all the time! I knew Home Free could cover pretty much anything but I never thought they would cover Ray Stevens! This is great!
I had a squirrel buddy when I was a kid and our neighbors had hickory nut trees in the yard and a lot of squirrels were around there. There was one that was injured holding up a paw and missing an eye, a little slower than the rest, so I decided to set out peanuts for him and he got to where he would come to visit and knock on our sliding glass door when he wanted peanuts or a peanut butter cracker, he would take it out of my hand. I named him Skippy and he got comfortable enough with me that he would climb on me up on my shoulder and eat and try to bury them in my long hair sometimes lol!
Didn't notice that the men sleeping in the pews were cartoons of Tim, Rob, Austin, Adam, and Chance. 😂 Great story you told. Love the reaction and the song brings happiness to the listeners
That was such a fun rendition of this song. And loved the animation! Tim is perfect for the narrating of this song. This was originally done by Ray Stevens. He is a country & pop singer-songwriter & comedian known for his novelty hits such as "Gitarzan", "Ahab The Arab", "Along Came Jones", "The Streak" and others. I just saw online that Ray Stevens loved what Home Free did with his song.
Totally awesome! Yep, leave it to Home Free! So awesome!! So boppy , foot tapping and makes you smile along with their wonderful talent!! 🔥🔥❤️ Enjoyed your reaction!👏👏👏👏
Good catch on George (Jetson). However, it wasn't just him. His wife standing there was Mrs Jetson and the boy that caught the squirrell was Elroy. All just had their hair colors changed and wore our fashion rather than space fashion we're used to seeing. Otherwise, they were identical.
@@karenharrison1843 You're right. I went back and double checked it and sure enough. It's funny how some hair color changes make people unrecognizable (at least to me) and others don't.
Home Free did it again! This is simply amazing! What a fun video!! How beautifully done! While watching this video, the older Home Free videos also came to my mind where Home Free is also in the church.😉 That made me laugh even more.🤣 I am alone, but I think if others saw me then, they would think there was something wrong with me. 😊 And as always great singing, the perfect harmony and background vocals, incredible bass and the inhumanly good beatboxing
OMG I first heard this song on Dr. Demento back in the 80's :) Such a classic. Ray Stevens is hilarious. I'm really glad Home Free covered this one. Genius.
Love the story! Same here but it was a chipmunk, my ex liked to leave the door wall open about six inches to let may little foo foo dog back in the house when she goes out. Now this just happened a few months ago, fall time maybe, I’m sitting on the sofa, and I looked over at the door wall, and on the rug this chipmunk is sitting eating some of the dog food (kibble). Was holding it in his little paws, so I said to him buddy, this is not a buffet! Have a drink from the water bowl before you leave, don’t tell your friends either! It was hysterical! I kept thinking about Alvin talking to me in his chipmunk voice! I could not stop laughing
OMG! So many memories with this song! A Ray Stevens classic done to perfection! Only Home Free could've done it justice. Thanks so much! The original is here on RUclips along with some more Ray Stevens classics. Again, thanks for the giggles and always for the joy.
I've always loved Ray Stevens. Although he did great novelty songs, he also had a gorgeous gospel album and his rendition of "Misty" is unforgettable. I always got a kick out of the idea of the "First Self-Righteous Church". This is a terrific video and, of course, the singing, beatboxing and Tim's lead are perfect. I think Mr. Stevens must be pleased with it
D, ya got me laughin' on this fine Sunday mornin'...well, you and Tim! Thanks for that! Never thought I'd see them doin' a cover of Ray Stevens...what's next? Weird Al cover, maybe?? LMAO!!!
Looked like catoon nots to jetsons, flintstones. The granny getting babtized looked like tweeties granny. Rug rats also. I think the title in the clouds was a not to simpsons
Good eye! I caught all those too. One more I noticed was one of the ladies (the one whose dress the squirrel ran up =P) looks a lot like Miss Finster from Recess.
So much fun. Tim did an amazing job talking and singing to this goofy great song of Ray Stevens. Austin, Rob and Chance funny with the backup singing and Adam beatboxing so well. Tim's eyebrows going up and down laughing. Happy Ray Stevens liked what they did. 😅😊
I could see Home Free remaking more of Ray Steven's work. I've listened to Ray's songs most of my life but honestly this is my favorite. Now I can add to that love since the Home Free boys have put their spin on it. I think they should do Ray's "The Streak" next tho!
How about Along Came Jones? I just watched that song Live on the Andy Williams Show 1969 and have to wonder which one of them would take Andy Williams' part.
I love your story. It reminded me of when we went to a touristy place 40+ years ago where the squirrels were very used to getting handouts from the tourists. We stopped to take some pictures and one of the squirrels climbed my husband's pants leg and stuck his head in the pocket of my husband's jacket to try to find some treats. It was so quick we hardly had time to react.
The characters in the video are references to characters from cartoons & animated films (and Home Free). One of HF's fans made all the connections, only one she couldn't figure out. But yes that's a reference to George & Judy Jetson (with some small changes). I thought this was really fun. Thx for the reaction.
Ray Stevens is a classic!!! I was really surprised you didn't know about this song!! Lol!! I had a squirrel that I fed in my front yard when I was a kid. He would climb up my blue jeans & take bread right out of my hand. Luckily he never got in the house! Tim was the perfect person to sing this!!!
Yeah with that title you just knew it was going to be a “wild” one. It’s an old Ray Stevens song (although I didn’t know it). So much fun and the cartoon was funny. That was Home Free at the church. Tim was perfect in the lead. Good reaction D!🤣🥰
OK…go & look up Ray Stevens…he’s done some really Funny stuff…..the guy’s a real hoot…”It’s me again Margaret”… I do hope they do some more of Ray’s fun stuff😂😵💫👍💥❤️‼️
04:05 Not only is "the dude on the left" a perfect ringer for George Jetson, but the woman next to him is a ringer for Jane (his wife), except Jane's hair was colored more orange. But facially it's the same character. I'm glad someone else also remembers the Jetsons - I thought I was imagining it at first!
Whomever did the animation definitely got ideas from Hanna Barbera - Flintstones & Jetsons, for sure. The boy looked a lot like BamBam, and yes, the parents looked like the Jetsons. Great reaction!
THANK YOU for doing this reaction. Sure makes going to church interesting doesn't it? Knew you would love this. Tim has the perfect storytelling voice.
Fun reaction, this is my favorite Ray Stevens song and the guys did a wonderful cover, love how they made it their own. I hope you will check out the original at some point, even if you don't react to it.
Correction! Ray Stevens is the legendary humorous songwriter! His video is live action!! 😯😮😯 You have to check it out!!! Yes! I noticed the Jet sons too! Ray Stevens does a real
I remember this from way back as just a song but don't know the artist. It's super cute! The easter egg of the sailor medley, did you catch that? First thing I thought when I saw that family, was The Jetsons too. My favorite childhood cartoon! My husband has a "pet" wild squirrel who takes peanuts from his hand. He better keep the doors closed. LOL Funny ass story! Thanks.
Loved this! By the way, you haven't reacted to 😍😍😍😍😍Mitch Grassi's cover of Your Power by Billie Eilish. Please do the one with the piano backing!! He is perfect in it!!
@ SALLY CRIPE, I BELIEVE HANNAH-BARBERA STUDIO DID THIS, WITH ALL THE RETRO CHARACTERS IN HERE, ANYONE ELSE DOING IT WOULD BE COPYRIGHTED. BTW, THIS WAS BASED ON A TRUE OCCURANCE IT REALLY HAPPENED IN MISSISSIPPI IN 1799.
I have never heard of Home Free before. This animation was good. The singer is nowhere near as good as Ray Stevens, the original artist that wrote this song. Rey Stevens is one of my favorite artists of all time. This was fun to watch.
Don't know where Judy is, but that is Jane and Elroy with George and the man in the rocker looks suspiciously like Cosmo Spacely. Don't know why they made Chance a blonde and had him the only one who turned red when she started confessing escapades!
Hi Mr. D! Please also do original song by Ray Stevens who does great parDy comedy songs that are hilarious 😂 the Tarzan song the Streek and more. Would love to see you do Ray Stevens Songs. Also the Beatles Rocky Raccoon.
There are more 2 Cellos not on your list 😢 Love how you make the videos so big that it's easy for us to see! One of the reasons I love your reactions 💓
Are you for real? Home Free have many songs they have written themselves. But that shouldn't bother you as you obviously do not appreciate good harmonies and therefore will not be watching/listening to any more. Cockwomble.
Classic Ray Stevens song! Brought back so many memories for me.

Don't look, Ethel! Boogity, boogity 😄

Ray Stevens has his RUclips channel, you should check it out He still post stuff I think it been 6 month since anything new
My shoulders are starting to hurt from my laughter and clapping.
Hilarious!! Ray Stevens sent them a message . He said he loved it!! What an honor!!

"You never know with Home Free...it could be..."
And that's why we always go back.
Tim did Ray Stevens soooo well!! And all the nods to various comics! Love it!
This is a Ray Stevens classic. Leave it to the boys. Thanks D. 🤣🍟
Totally awesome! Yep, leave it to Home Free! So awesome!! So boppy , foot tapping and makes you smile along with their wonderful talent!! 🔥🔥❤️ Enjoyed your reaction!👏👏👏👏

I thought that he looked like George Jetson. Didn’t realize that the other two were his wife or Elroy.
Grandpa also looked like George's boss, Mr.Spacely.

They did a great cover of this Ray Stevens classic. Especially the ad libs.

So glad to see Home Free introducing a new generation to hilarious songs of Ray Stevens. The original Ray Stevens video of this song was live action.

This is a cover of a Ray Stevens song and Hanna-Barbera style animation was popular about the same time this song came out.
