That was such a fun rendition of this song. And loved the animation! Tim is perfect for the narrating of this song. This was originally done by Ray Stevens. He is a country & pop singer-songwriter & comedian known for his novelty hits such as "Gitarzan", "Ahab The Arab", "The Streak" and others.
Glad you spotted the Jetsons. That's George and Jane with different color clothes and hair. Makes me think this was done by Hanna or Barbara. Even the "Grandpa" is just Mr Spacely from the Jetsons. And if that squirrel looks familiar, remember Top Cat? The grandma looks familiar too but I think that's more coincidence. She looks like a Warner Bros animated granny.
If this doesn't make people laugh, then I seriously don't know now what will, what can we say about the Home Free guys, they're seriously the best!! 😂🐿️😂
Home Free did it again! 👍👍👍👍👍This is simply amazing! What a fun animation! How beautifully done! While watching this animation, the older Home Free videos also came to my mind where Home Free is also in the church. 😉That made me laugh even more. 😅 I am alone, but I think if others saw me then, they would think there was something wrong with me. 😊And as always great singing, the perfect harmony and background vocals, incredible bass and the inhumanly good beatboxing❤❤❤❤❤
I don’t think that we, “Midwesterner’s” could ever completely understand this song, since most of us are Catholic, Lutheran, UCC, UMC, Atheists or Agnostic’s! But I think it certainly conforms to our stereotypes of what “Southern” churches are like!!
I don’t know if Ray Stevens experienced this but, I work at a church and we had a squirrel attend a funeral. It didn’t cause quite this much ruckus but there were some who could barely stand because they were so weak from laughing so hard. You would probably enjoy the original video with Ray Stevens.
Ray Stevens was known for his very popular comedic songs going back to the very early 60's such as Ahab the Arab, and The One Eyed Purple People Eater, The Streak, Gitarzan, and of course this one and many more. It has been quite a while since HF has done a humorous song like, mostly during the Chris Rupp era.
No humorous songs in the Chance era? Like Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer, Quarantine, Make You Feel My Love, Thank God I'm a Country Boy, or I Swear? Probably others as well.
Ray Stevens had wonderful gospel songs and his rendition of "Misty" is unforgettable. The summer replacement show "Andy Williams Presents Ray Stevens" ran from June - Aug. 1970 and also had Mama Cass & Steve Martin.
BASED ON A TRUE OCCURANCE THAT HAPPENED IN MISSISSIPPI IN 1799. ORIGINAL BY RAY STEVENS 1984. HE TWEETED ABOUT HF'S COVER OF HIS SONG. ANIMATED BY HANNAH-BARBARA STUDIOS THAT GAVE US, JETSONS, FLINTSTONES, GRINCH, RECESS, GRANNY-SYLVESTER & TWEETY, ETAL. SO, NO PROBLEMS WITH ANIMATER COPYRIGHTS HOW MANY CARTOONS CAN YOU FIND. THEY EVEN ANIMATED HOME FREE. RAY DID A LOT OF NOVELTY SONGS LIKE, THE STREAK, GITARZAN, AHAB THE ARAB, IT'S ME AGAIN MARGARET AND HIS POP SONG, EVERYTHING IS BEAUTIFUL (IN THEIR OWN WAY}.
you did see the Guys animated selves right? Austin Rob and Tim and then the 2 Adams together funny ! and I encourage you to check out Ray's original it's live action and Funny as heck . HF as usual found that balance between the Original and making it their own. Ray Steven's tweeted his approval of it!
They did an amazing job with this song. Tim is the only one that could have done it. If you get a chance watch the original song Ray Stevens. Truly enjoyed watching your reaction to this song.
I'm thinking maybe the sleeping grandpa looks a bit like Fred Flintstone. This song was s hit by Ray Stevens. He had a major hit song in 1970 called Everything is Beautiful. I think is most famous novelty song was 1974's The Streak. Check out his wonderful video for that. I never get tired of that one. I also remember Gitarzan and Along Came Jones, both from 1969. Mr. Steven is still alive at 84 and still going strong.
Great reaction! My dad had an old vinyl record called “Looney Tunes” with the Ray Stevens’ version of this song on it when I was growing up. This was super nostalgic for me. I still have the record, come to think of it. Anyway, thanks for the reaction! If it’s Tim retelling the story, you know it’s going to be spectacular.
I highly recommend watching the musical parade. It’s on RUclips for free and is based on a real criminal case, it also has Jeremy Jordan as the main character.
Hard to say but it's definitely Hanna Barbera cartoons. The Jetsons, Wilma from the Flinstones, BamBam too. the Sister reminded me of Roz from Monsters INC. Lol Ray Stevens did a great video of this but HF like always knocked it out of the park.
There were several done in the Rugrats style, like the first guy who goes berzerk (although I think someone elsewhere identified him as being from a different show from a related series) and the black couple at the baptism.
This is sooooo funny 😁🔥❤️‼️ OK….now go find some of Ray Stevens fun greats…..he did some really fun ones….he’s still living. Before Covid, his club…CABARAY, was quite popular there in Nashville. I really wondered how long it would be before he would do a Ray Stevens….🎵🎶‼️❤️
This has always been my favorite Ray Stevens song. By the way, he has a video with this song on RUclips, you should check it out. It is not animated and hilarious!!
The original video is live action and every bit as hilarious. If you should decide to checkout Ray Stevens I recommend "Sitting Up With Dead" which is based on a southern folk tale or perhaps "Ahab the Arab." Although to be fair with Ray Stevens you can't go wrong.
Sitting up with the dead isn't really a Folk Tale so much as a Tradition dating back to early days before embalming and funeral homes But Ray's video is hilarious
@@TrishapurpleprincessWe have different sources. While I knew that sitting up with the dead was a southern tradition the actual story about a dead body sitting up during a thunderstorm, due to it having been necessary because the deceased couldn't be made to lay flat, and causing a commotion was a folk tale according to a folklorist I saw in an interview around the same Sitting Up With the Dead was released.
There really isn't a difference between the original and the Home Free version. Ray Stevens was primarily known as a comedy act, but he also had a few serious songs like "Everything is Beautiful" and "Misty". Home Free did amazing with this song
Well Tim does say that Home Free doesn't give us what we want - they give us what we need!! 🤣🍟
Ray Stevens did it live action. You should check it and his other songs out.
Timothy could make a killing as a "voice" actor never singing again..... But we don't want that do we?
Just noticed: Early in the video when it shows the congregation there are five guys sitting together - it’s Home free!
The Jetsons yeah! The little kis looks like Elroy Jetson!
Loved this one! Home Free never disappoints.
The Hanna-Barbera style animation is perfect because that animation was also popular when this song came out.
Ray Stevens would b proud boys!! Hilarious!!
If this doesn't make people laugh, then I seriously don't know now what will, what can we say about the Home Free guys, they're seriously the best!! 😂🐿️😂
You should watch the official video with Ray Stevens. It can be done without animation. Thanks for the reaction. They boys did a great job.
so much fun.....yes Dennis the Menace & the Jetsons !!! Ray Stevens is a genius....check out his video "The Streak" it's hilarious
Home Free did it again! 👍👍👍👍👍This is simply amazing! What a fun animation! How beautifully done! This reminds me of "Champagne taste (on a beer budget)" whith the sing/talk style.
But Tim is perfect for that, and love the upbeat in both.
I don’t think that we, “Midwesterner’s” could ever completely understand this song, since most of us are Catholic, Lutheran, UCC, UMC, Atheists or Agnostic’s! But I think it certainly conforms to our stereotypes of what “Southern” churches are like!!

"The Purple People Eater" was written & performed by Sheb Wooley in 1958.
No humorous songs in the Chance era? Like Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer, Quarantine, Make You Feel My Love, Thank God I'm a Country Boy, or I Swear? Probably others as well.
Down right proper rendition of Ray 'The Streak' Stevens' original. What fun!!
Jetsons, Flintstones, Looney Tunes, Recess, Rugrats...
And Cruella de Ville! Loved seeing the characters!
Ray Stevens had wonderful gospel songs and his rendition of "Misty" is unforgettable. The summer replacement show "Andy Williams Presents Ray Stevens" ran from June - Aug. 1970 and also had Mama Cass & Steve Martin.
Love this rendition of a much beloved song. Your reaction was great. Thanks!

So much fun! Loved the original, and true to Home Free, they brought it over the top!!!
So cute and clever. What a fun song. Loved the animation and Tim and the boys sounded so good. Good reaction BC! 🤣🥰
The boy wasn't Dennis the Menace, but rather the Jetsons' own son, Elroy. :)
Like Ray Stevens, Tim is as talented a comedian as he is a talented singer.
You can find Ray Stevens version on RUclips.
Another sign MF another smile!!! Love those boys!!!
Oh my GOD!! Proof read before I post!! That was suppose to say another song and another smile!!! 😮 sorry!!!!

More like Mr Spacely
Great reaction! My dad had an old vinyl record called “Looney Tunes” with the Ray Stevens’ version of this song on it when I was growing up. This was super nostalgic for me. I still have the record, come to think of it. Anyway, thanks for the reaction! If it’s Tim retelling the story, you know it’s going to be spectacular.
My dad had a VHS tape of Ray Stevens singing his songs , LOL!

Brilliant 👏👏
Solid cover and so fun.
Looks like Austin has a hair cut

Lol watch Ray Steven's original of the Mississippi squirrel lol
You should watch the original video by Ray Stevens.
there is a video of the original with live acting by Ray Stevens. ruclips.net/video/K16fG1sDagU/видео.html
Google Ray Stevens he did a lot of parodies.
You need to watch Ray Stevens
Did anyone else notice the preacher looked like Tom Jones?
Oh, but there is a way to do it in live action... got to see the original.ruclips.net/video/K16fG1sDagU/видео.html
Yes!!! Ray Stevens did an awesome job with live action!
You would have to ask Ray Stevens if it's based on a true story and his original video isn't animated and just as funny as this one.
The wiggles meets johnny cash
I thought you liked indian songs but you aren't reacting to any 😢
React to Eyy Bidha idhi Naa Adda song from Pushpa movie
Ray Stevens' original video for this song is available on his channel, @raystevensmusic.
