OK, so things we learned from this are: Build living quarters underground so sleeping areas are warmer. You can build a ladder to the stratosphere, but you need to research warm clothes first. Dogs are in the game. Research guns and medicine first.
RCE if you are looking for a new puzzle game try :do not feed the monkeys. Or the sequel :Do not feed the monkeys 2099. It is a (kinda idk it's hard to describe the genra) puzzle game that i think you will like

Please do a second run and use what you have learned. Build big with doors between to save the heat. Have stockpiles close to where the colonists are, they can easily derp out and not eat if they're blocked from the food stockpiles by something simple like too little light that triggers animal spawns. Bandages are easily made, built all the different work benches. Focus on an above or below ground base, don't do both or you'll split your base. Below is harder, because you need to change all floors, roofs and walls to something constructed to make it yours. Lights are your friend, put lights in every area that the colonists avoid, much more than you can see in. It's quick to get OP, but you need to focus weapons hard. Having the colonists doing every menial task and leave yourself fighting bases and doing mining. Base defense can be built after some research, but they've got way smaller storages to be left through more than one defended raid.

With this review ---- I worked on this game. So obviously I will recommend it. But with a private note... When I worked on it there was a known bug involving the AI pathing. Nearly two years after I left the team, at the 1.0 release - that bug remained unsolved. Take from this what you will. I think ill pass. Plus its just a knock off of Terraria and Starbound
I tried this game out and the thing that made me uninstall was the first raider wave. You can see it in this video, but they absolutely steamroll in the early game. It gives the impression that the game wasn't playtested well, or they're going for a very punishing type of game.
RCE: What would Josh do? Minus the human suffering, this is straight out of LGIO. I mean, minus him help to cause suffering. The raiders probably weren't fun for the colonists.
@@Shuizid Fair point, but this game doesn't look like the kind where he could just leave it up running while he goes about his day and actually accomplish anything. Unlike his usual shenanigans of leaving Roller Coaster Tycoon (the clones, I mean) for 3 days straight to see if his psychosis actually works.
@@hitlord I thought more like the Hydroneer-video where he covered an entire plot with plants AND an elaborate sprinkling system - only to nuke it later after the game was not able to handle that amount of objects.
Close! I know the devs on another forum, and part of the reason FP got made was because they wanted to make a better Starbound. Truth be told, I'm kind of with them- while I did like Starbound myself, there was a lot of great stuff that was not included in the final release - my personal bugbear are the race specific storylines. Anyway, it's good to see the game's finally out; I'm definitely be getting it soon!
@@Wagsjr22 Playing the game only brought me frustration with many of the mechanics not working properly if at all. It's buggy as hell and clearly unfinished, I really don't know why they released it in that state.

The reason things keep entering through the right door is because there's two tiles missing so technically it's open.
You are nearer in reaching an orbit in this game than in KSP.

This is an important lesson in building girthier shafts. imagine beig able to build campfires all the way up in a warm shaft to space.

These hidden gems like the seed 69420, the plop sound and the "nice", it´s the little things that makes something from good to damn good.

Only difference, Josh would have spent several days on it and started building an entire building around the ladder so he doesn't freeze to death.

Why not see if you can build a inverse pyramid, if it works, you can build a couple stations on the top
Maybe you should research the Medkit first next time.
Hope this game gets properly worked on unlike Starbound (which I still liked quite a bit).
