Lots of pigs and lots of hungry people. Looks like we could solve a problem lol
A lot of these feral pigs are full of diseases, and since they're not bred to be farmed - like actual pigs - they normally aren't a good food source. Can they be eaten? Yes. Is is a good idea? Not usually...
Boar taint is absolutely disgusting though. We need a way to get rid of it before people will eat these things.
@@mr.nemesis6442 boars could be used as a pet food. Piglets are tasty as f*ck though.
Yeah your Right.
@@mr.nemesis6442 I wonder if soaking the meat in milk helps?

yeah, killing something and not using the meat is sick - wasteful.
@@genkiferal7178 Should we eat all the rats, snakes, and coyotes we kill? Yes, it's not that great that this needs to be done, but there are times when animals must be disposed of without a ready way of making use of the carcass. And I'm sure many hog cullers do use the bacon.
@@genkiferal7178 hogs have the worst absolute worst parasites and other diseases that could be in its meat , it eats anything and the parasites and certain food doesnt digest, if you ate enough of these pigs you would prob behave and feel like em lmfao

I hope those hogs will be transferred in the Philippines especially in Mindanao where there population is decreasing due to human consumption. Hogs meat being a meal is called “Baboy Sulop” baboy means pig and it is cooked very deliciously. Hogs in the Philippines are already endangered.
Jollibee has a new dish with wild hog meat too I think. Yummy Jollibee, the chicken joy and the sweet spaghetti!
Put a price on them like Florida does pythons in the Everglades.
The problem with Texas is that it has very little public hunting land. Almost everything is private. Almost all of those private properties charge money to hunt on them.
@@marcelojuarez7561 Texas and their land ownership🙄 don't get me wrong, in Florida it's annoying too, the random ranches and reserves that pop up everywhere
@@marcelojuarez7561 Texas land owners can make money organising hunting parties and selling places to citiy dwelling hunters.
That's how farmland owners in Europe make some extra cash while culling the numbers of destructive wild boars.
It includes transport from the main house to the hunting site and a picnic place, sometimes even the picnic food and wine produced in the farm.
It can be also a family entertainment since wives that don't hunt (some also do) stay in the visitors area with the children watching the farm animals and learning about farming, cheese making, etc. Kids love it and it's educational.
It's also a good opportunity to sell whatever is produced in the farm.
If the landowner is not keen on running the business he can rent the land for that purpose during certain periods to a hunting party organising company.
Don't you guys have this over there?
Why are they sending this meat overseas?
There is definitely a market for wild hog meat in the United States.
Regular pigs are easier to raise, that's why their meat is cheap. This market for wild hogs would be really small, and the price of the meat would be high in comparisson, due to what it takes to catch them.
because it's cheap.
Boar meat taste very different and mostly bad. Not what you imagining as lean pork
@@Lucas_Tulicwild hog meat is incredibly dangerous to consume. People might get parasites if they keep eating random wild animals.
Mean while the price of bacon went up the past year for some reason
They would make great dog and pet food. Sell their meat to zoo's that house lions, tigers and bears oh my...
That’s such a good idea! I wonder if it’s possible…I hope so. It would be amazing to not have their bodies go to waste
@@EvadoCouto to atleast cover the cost of operating the traps and hunts.
Zoo animals are very expensive, specially large predators. These pigs are infested with multiple diseases and parasites.
You don't want a 100k or 200k USD tiger dying of trichinosis.
Also it would be more expensive in transport costs than buying the meat from a local producer near the zoo.
If pigs are problem, then why is bacon prices $7 a pound?

wild hogs. wild goats, wild rabbits: chuck a few in countries where people are dying of hunger
You have to castrate them then Mark them and come back for that particular hog or another one that you castrated and marked in a couple months to a year for the meat to be good

I don’t understand. This is free range meat. Why are we not cashing in on this? I can’t even afford chicken in this economy Democrats have so graciously bestowed on us.
It was not the Democrats that effed up the economy, it's the consequences of the pandemic, the disruption of global supply chains and the Ukraine war, mostly.
Plus, you're paying the "interest" in the form of inflation of all the money printing during the Trump presidency to artificially bloat your economy. @@shenFen-jf2jkmany hunters do eat them. But you can’t exactly eat an invasive species out of the US when their population is in the millions. Better to say happy huntings and take out as many of the buggers as possible. Also I have tried feral hog before multiple times, it’s always been the most disgusting meat I’ve ever had
@@FoundationRingsTwice It tastes gross because it wasn't properly prepared. You have to cut out the glands first before the meat is tainted, also depends on the breed and what part of the hog is eaten. Usually the younger piglets are less gamey.
Most of y’all don’t cook with seasoning and cook long enough so it’s going to taste gross😂
Turn them into bacon

One of the ways to reduce the number of wild boars, hunting in a helicopter is great
Chopper hog hunting appears highly inefficient... The traps look better thought out.😂
Except people pay big money to "hunt" hogs from helicopters. I wish I would have years ago before I got so expensive.
There is a plausible solution to the feral hog problems. Catch or euthanize these hogs and sell them to South East Asian countries like the Philipines, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos & Cambodia whose people like to feast on wild boars. To them, wild hogs are a delicacy. You need to centralize the export of such meat (frozen off course) to these countries. In US, once there is a price for selling the wild hoggies, the feral hogs will be reduced !
I'd buy that meat if it was the right price. This is the kind of animal that NEEDS to be hunted. Unlike wolves, hogs don't belong here.
Lol
The price is right it's free to hunt and trap them no license or tags you can use spot lights, thermal scopes, and dogs even on public land
@@brandonhouston3683 I heard that the problem with that is that in Texas much of the land is private land and it is difficult to hunt like you mentioned as they charge you for hunting
So we can eradicate bison, but not hogs. They are worried about lowering the price of meat worldwide
Dont eat the meat, just dont. It's disgusting they carry all sorts of diseases and parasites.

The population of Kaua'i is about 80,000 and the estimated population of pua'a (boars) is probably at least 300,000. They destroy forests and need to be eliminated. A controversial subject because hunting has become a traditional activity, though my understanding was original Hawaiians didn't hunt them but kept them domesticated. Gee-I wonder why? They destroy native plants. They cause phenomenal erosion and because they love human food, they destroy human food supplies. Oh please, "ill loose up to 10% some years". The USDA and FDA, literally forces farmers to throw away 3.6+ million tons of food, every year. They do this to control agricultural inflation, however, it also covers farmers in the case of loses such as these because they just dont have to throw away any food or alot less because they produced less. The only reason farmers actually want boars gone in their bottom end, not ours. The median income for farmers is $160,000, with a household median of nearly $300,000. Loosing 10% off that and oh no, they cant buy their 3rd jetski. If an average joe looses 10% of his income he cant afford rent or hang out with friends that month. Im really not concerned for farmers, theyre incredibly protected by the USDA and FDA, our government looks out for our farmers.
